Giardiasis (Beaver Fever) | Infection Sources, Pathophysiology, Signs & Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment
Giardiasis (also known as Beaver Fever) is a gastrointestinal condition caused by infection with the protozoal species known as Giardia intestinalis. This protozoa can be found in outside water sources including rivers, streams, ponds and lakes. Infection with this protozoa can cause a variety of gastrointestinal signs and symptoms including chronic diarrhea, weight loss and malaise.

Very insightful, thank you sir. What i find it fascinating is that certain blood types as mentioned can predispose one's to discrete types of infections although i am wondering about the pathophysiology behind such obscurity.

Caught this one along with my girlfriend on holiday in Bali.
I’m 100% recovered with what appears to be no lasting symptoms.
My GF however appears to be lactose intolerant now, a couple weeks after contracting. Is there any research to suggest how long this might go on for?
