When you brought up the trigger issues, I had a sigh of relief! So even the best people have those problems! So we have to just time it right.

Recently, I came across a great way to fix phase issues. You pan one element hard left and one hard right, and then you check them against a correlation meter. If you're getting good correlation, you don't need to do anything. If the correlation is low, you can do a couple of things. The easiest is to flip the phase of one element. But sometimes that's not precise enough. So what you can do is getting a signal delay plugin like Voxengo Sound Delay. This will allow you to adjust the timing of your tracks in very small increments such as samples. I just adjust one of the tracks by a few samples at a time until I start seeing strong correlation.

My drums never hit the way they should! 😂😂🤣🤣 Man I used to do a lot of boost eq in the master, a loooot of phase issues, lately I've been trying to get everything right in the mix. Cool video! Very helpful!

Carefull on using linear phase eq with extreme settings as you'll hear the other downside to it besides latency. * pre ringing *

I dont have phase problems, though I did go to school for audio engineering.

Biggest problem with multi mic acoustic guitars are moving guitar players, and the player standing up between takes. How to fix this? Tie him up?

Is it bad to always have the invert polarity switch engaged? If I'm doing DI for all instruments, do i need to worry about this?

So i have this album ive been mixing, dont think im having any issues apart from one: my cymbals randomly sound almost chorusy? Is this a phase issue?

Miami, I ran into pne of Lil Reese's producers, Zen Beats. We talked music production, and I told him I was a beginner. I asked him
about Mid/Side EQ and he had no idea what it was. I learned about this concept from your videos. You are giving us knowledge that's helpful to even producers working with top level performers and artists. Thank you!

Why would a high level producer know about audio engineering like mid side eq? Producing is different from mixing & mastering. Most producers just produce.

@@Arsonloke I dunno, I'm just a beginner. For me, it was encouraging to see someone still learning new stuff working with big name artists. Art is a process.

Can we invert phase on a global mix?

    • @christopherharv

I don’t think that would actually do anything, unless that global mix is meant to be synced up with some other track to create the final product. In which case you can just render the final mix and insert it in a new project as a track, and dip the polarity for that track.
