Legalism is believing that keeping rules or religious laws makes us righteous. Galatians is a book all about legalism. If keeping rules makes us righteous (perfect and good enough before God) then Christ died for nothing, and we know that He did not. When we choose to try to be good enough by keeping rules...and when we think or teach that other people have to keep rules or religious laws to be good enough...we are legalists. We keep rules and laws because we ARE already righteous, not in order to be better people. It is by God's grace and our faith in Christ that we are "good enough". And others can have that same opportunity just by faith in Christ too, not by keeping rules and laws.
Legal is doing the right thing but with no love. For example if a mother cooks for her son and takes good care of him but she is just doing all this because its her duty and not because she loves her kid that is legalism
romel francis true but not....as we cannot lean in our own understanding as in our own feelings, thoughts and ways.....when we know to good and not do it, it is sin, and when we know to do good and do it, we do it as unto the Lord....and we pray for His fruit of the Spirit 😃❤️ sometimes we know to do good, but we just are tired or something else, but that’s why we have mercy from above to show forth to ourselves and others...until the fullness of Christ comes and we shall be made perfect in Christ....Christ in us us the hope of glory! A person must be born again of the water and of the spirit. That's why Peter the apostle said repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost Act's 2:38-39 this is being born again.No other way around This .
To be born of the water is to be born of the womb. Jesus was telling the Pharisees that it wasn't enough to be born as an Israelite (of the water) because they believed their salvation was inherited by their ancestory.. Also, in Acts 10:47 the Gentiles received the Holy Spirit without baptism. As the Bible teaches us, baptism doesn't affect salvation. One gets baptized because he IS saved, not in order to BE saved. It is an outward expression of acknowledging that you died with Christ and are made clean by the shed blood of Jesus and that you acknowledge you will rise again unto eternal life as Jesus did. It is an acknowledgement that you have been made right with God and have a clear conscience before God

Speaking in tongues is one of the nine manifestations of the holy spirit and it IS necessary to do what you were speaking of to begin with. Unfortunately this man is also deceived in this area. Too bad. You can say the churches have another gospel and are preaching another gospel and STILL be preaching another gospel yourself.

There is no scripture supporting the necessity of speaking in tongues to be transformed by Holy Spirit.
