I dreamed of having a robot like Johnny 5 when I was a kid. I really wished my parents had steered me towards robotics engineering and computer science.
Wooooooah, this is just incredible to see! The sleek redesign, the potential for new and improved actuation, this is amazing! Just stumbled onto this after rewatching the Short Circuit films last night, I'll keep an eye on this as it's wonderful to see him up and about again after all these years! Thank you :D
Awesome, I was a kid when this film came out and I’ve always even to this day thought that the design of Johnny 5 was great, it’s not a design that’s aged and even now looks like a robot that’s built for a purpose and would function perfectly, I guess there’s a licensing issue as to why there’s never been merchandised figures or collectibles for him cause I would have been into that big time and always thought it was a missed opportunity.. anyway, keep up the good work cause this is stunning!
Ooooh Awesome I saw Short circuit for the first time in 2004/2005 And I saw Short circuit 2 in 2014 That robot is awesome!! And I think it's even cooler that you 3D modeled and 3D printed him 😁
i think the one you're building is much more functional as a complete unit than the actual one used in the movie... as far as i know, the real one was actually a whole bunch of different ones that could only do limited things, there was no single machine that could do everything, and thats why a lot of the shots are just of the head, or just of the arms...
YES... bring Johnny number 5 alive... we got the tech n hardware now...
Omg YES PLEASE YES! Bless you my friend! Greetings from Germany ❤

I have wanted to do this exact build for years!! Granted I envisioned the toy in the second one lol. So excited!!
I was obsessed with this movie when I was a kid. I didn’t even care about the story, I just wanted to study how Johnny 5 was put together.
I liked him in his best role as a killer robot in "Dead;ly Friend."
well, if ya ever get him to go to one of the MANY cons we have here in texas, lemme know. I'm in.
You got it
