    Here's my tip of the day... If you are not a big volume pedal guy for your solo sound utilize a drive or booster before the amp sim and then the 10 band eq after the amp with the mids punched up a bit and 2db of volume.. walla you're out in front in the mix and have a nice push for that singing sustain.. there's my two cents.. you may keep the change :)

    Hi Scott,I would be lost without your videos, I just got the MG-30 and have to take it slow in learning, have a demanding day job. Before I got the MG-30 I set up my homemade Pedalboard in stereo successfully to play through my Blackstar ID Core 100w Combo but not sure if I can rig this pedal to play in stereo through the Blackstar speakers using the four cable method,or otherwise. I make my own guitar music videos and have made some stereo music vids lately with my own equiptment, would be good to use the Nux also in this way, greatful for any advice, thanks again for your tutorials.

    I got a question for the assignment of the footswitches (especially at 01:55). Since A is the ring and B is the Tip wouldn't that mean that both are only number 3 instead of 2 and 3 like you said there? Thats also how I can assign it in Qucktone. But what is 2 for and how do I use it? This is kinda confusing to me right now I have to admit :D Edit: Oh answered my own question. 2 would be for another Expression Pedal. Well that clears things up.

When I'm using the MG-30 I have it plugged into my laptop via the usb cable and I play along with songs in my Amazon Music Player app. The problem I'm having is that the volume of the music coming from the Amazon Music Player is kinda low relative to the MG-30, even at its max. I could probably just walk into my music room and try it, but I thought others may have the same question... can I set the wah to automatically be engaged in a scene, or do you still have to use the 'foot switch' method? When I am playing live, I sometimes don't press quite hard enough, and immediately drop my volume to 0 during a solo when trying to sweep the wah effect down. ;-P Great video by the way. Keep them coming. Oh, one more thing... any insider info on when the next FW version is going to be released?

    • @westongeorge4226
      @westongeorge4226 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just tried it. Unfortunately, it maintains the state of the wah across all scenes, so you can't have it set independently per scene. I did see a rumor that there might be a new FW release this month, but nothing concrete.

    Apparently, these modern digital floorboards are made either to connect online or via usb. Besides, the MG-30, among other pedalboards, has several 'Output Modes', but nobody explores. I tried using the settings in my combo and the results weren't good. In the end, only STUDIO mode had acceptable sound. The other modes, even turning on as expected, the distortions had a "noisy" sound. Would you be able to test these 'Output Modes'? Thanks and Success!

  • @chrisb3389

    I'd be surprised if a few of these common requests aren't added in a firmware update, such as ability to only have 2 scenes (pure software coding and functionally easy to do) or the ability to set effects parameters with a scene (again should be just coding, as a different level of gain on the same amp or pedal or more or less mix on a wet effect or mod shouldn't add to any memory overhead). Often companies release in an agile way, getting out features fast before they've gotten the feedback of how to make the use of the feature better.

    In recent months I have tried in every way to increase the volume (in dB) of the solo scene in some way, so that it could be higher than the crunch scene but I never succeeded. I also tried sacrificing the eq block and using it in flat configuration with only an increase in level and putting it post IR but still nothing to do because it still dirty the original sound. Do you have some advice? Thanks

    Hey I’m new to this and I have a question. So let’s say scene 1 has a blues drive and scene 2 has a distortion pedal is there any way to make it so that scene 1 stays the selected pedal? Because the entire preset has the same pedals

    • @lukecornett4874
      @lukecornett4874 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know its been a month since you posted this,and probably already figured it out, but I'll answer based on my understanding. When you build a preset you're basically building a pedalboard with limited space. There's only enough room for 1 one of each type of pedal so you choose the blues driver, a delay, a chorus, and a pitch shifter. When you're playing a rig in real life you can turn the pedals from that pedal board on and off. Each SCENE is the equivalent to doing this. Scene 1 could be set to only delay AKA only the delay pedal is turned on . In scene 2 could be set to turn on the Blues driver and and chorus, but also switch off the delay. Then in scene 3 you could set it for a different combination of the pedals selected for your preset AKA virtual pedalboard. If you want a different distortion pedal on your pedalboard you have to make a new PRESET. In real life if when you have limited space on your pedalboard you have to decide which pedal(s) you're going to remove to add a new pedal. Once you've changed the configuration of your pedals IRL you can no longer use the pedal you removed because you have changed your rigs capabilities AKA made a new preset. I hope that helps

    Okay following this to the letter. Scene 1,2 & 3 all sound the same. For example s 1 would be a clean 2 crunch 3 lead. But when l save it l only get the last scene on all 3??????. Is there a save step between each created scene or have i missed something??

    Hi, thank you for your video. I think I will buy one !
    I have a question about it: do you know if we can control a Boss Katana Artist MKII ? Like using the MG30 as footswitch, without using effect of the MG30 but The Boss Katana just to change preset, bank, etc.
    Also, do you know if we can use the pedal as expression pedal for the amp but using effect of the Boss Katana (or other amp)
    Thank you !

    Hello, been looking for a solution but I couldn't really find one. Is it possible to use the expression footswitch that comes with the mg-30 to be used for switching scenes BUT only having scene 1 and 2 enabled. Disabling scene 3 only works for me when I assign scene switching to foot switch 4. Help.
