The Victims of the Grindr Killer Stephen Port. 10 Years Later. Barking. Essex

In the Summer of 2014, a string of deaths in Barking. Essex saw 3 young gay men die of seemingly overdosing on party drug GHB. The victims were all found within a 400-yard area, 2 in the same spot in a Churchyard, and 1 outside a flat in Cooke Street.
The flat belonged to Stephen Port, and the Churchyard became his dumping ground of his victims he found on the Grindr gay dating site, with another to follow a year later.
The secondary story to the victims is that of the Barking and Dagenham Police as, due to the ineptitude and homophobia of the police force, missed multiple opportunities to bring a serial killer to justice and prevent him from killing again and again.
This video is a brief look at the four lives of the victims and their connection to the story as a decade since their tragic deaths shocked Britain.

I'm so glad you covered this tragic case, I remember reading two young lads had been found in identical places, and was not treated as suspicious, the police weren't interested. to them they were just gays and not worth investigating. I sure they turned this into a tv drama, starring Sheridan smith.

Thank you. Yes, there was a drama called Four Lives a couple of years ago. I had to tone down my thoughts on the police whilst filming this, as I get so angry at the missed opportunities. I hope things would be treated differently today. Thanks for watching

It was absolutely disgusting how this case was handled by the police.
I'm not convinced it would handled any better if it happened again.
The met police should be ashamed of themselves.

Can't agree more. I usually leave my own opinions out of my videos, but I get so angry with this one over their failings. They literally have blood on their hands for the way they conducted themselves. Thanks for watching
