I actually ran into some new players on splatoon 1 as well!! I thought it was people on alt accounts. Judging by how they played, it was either someone's younger sibling playing on an alt or new players because they didnt know what they were doing. It was still nice to see though.
I literally just ended a session of turf war and I saw at least 4 new accounts and you could tell by how they played that they were new and inexperienced

I got Splatoon 2 as an early birthday present a week ago . And Ive been wanting this game for years now.. :D
Quick tip for rainmaker : grab the rainmaker and go. Don't be scared. Some people go for defense but if everyone is too scared to grab the rainmaker and make progress/take the lead you'll lose. Also pay attention to the rainmaker. Dont focus on killing people, i remember that i got knocked out because my teammates were focusing on splatting people in their base, meanwhile...no one noticed (except me) that the rainmaker is near our goal..

Pro splashdown tip: when u have splashdown and super jumping into the battlefield use it and the enemies will not see it coming
Yup that's even better but u have to let them camp u so u surprise them with splashdown so that would work as a disadvantage

1. dont be me, who sacrifices their knowledge of the basic English lexicon, reads every splatoon wiki page, and even saves up for facial/plastic surgery to become one of the inklings and then have a general idea of how to play the game correctly
