The dancing funnel technique was invented by Tatsiana Serko and Jelena Vasiljeva. Tatsiana was also our guest teacher this month. Both Tatsiana and Jelena are incredibly talented and make the most beautiful soaps. Here are some links to their websites:

Note: I stirred my soap for a very long time, pulsing the stick blender as I stirred. With this method and particular recipe, it took me quite a long time to reach an emulsion. By the time I hand stirred my essential oils and colors into the soap and then shook the squeeze bottles a bit, the soap was finally at a light trace.

DISCLAIMER: I make these videos to share my own personal methods and techniques for how I make cold process soap. These videos are not intended as tutorials for beginners. These videos are intended for those who already have an understanding of cold process soap making. Cold process soapmaking has many variables and involves working with sodium hydroxide (NaOH, also referred to as lye). Lye and raw soap can damage your eyes and burn your skin. When making soap, you should already know and practice lye safe handling procedures and always wear safety gear. While I hope you find watching my videos helpful or entertaining, so many variables go into making soap and even the smallest change can greatly affect the results; therefore, I am not liable or responsible for your results if you try any of the methods or techniques that I use in my videos.
Holly, a huge congratulations on winning the Dancing Funnel Challenge, you so deserve it! Your soap is amazing!

did you have to spritz the bars with alcohol?
♥ It!!! How much for a custom order of it with just peppermint?
that was so satisfying to watch for some reason 👀💕
thats beautiful. thanks for sharing
+Salma el sayed Thank you! And thanks for watching & commenting!
Quite beautiful and fun to see
Can you please explain how did you shape the edges to give it the final look
Thank you for sharing the wonderful vdo
Sure! I actually just used a vegetable peeler to run down the edges. The kind used to shave carrots or remove the skin off of apples. I’ve used one in several other videos...I believe my Shea butter soap video shows me trimming the edges. Hope this helps!
Holly - Kapia Mera Soap thank you so very much I subscribed ur channel and will surely show you what I make
Ur work is so amazing
🤩stay blessed
Beautiful
I'm wondering if this could be done with MP suspension base. Only way to know is to try it.
Charming,love it very much!
Love it. You are amazing :)
Oh, thank you!! :)
Love the way you bevel the edges 😍
Phenomenal!!! 👏🏾 I miss making CP Soap.
Amazing!!!!!!!! Wow!
BEAUTIFUL!
Absolutely MESMERIZING! Love your technique. How do you clean your squeeze bottles?
Beautiful! Do squeeze bottles have to be used, or can you just drop from a spouted cup?
Absolutely gorgeous... as are all of your soaps. You are a true pro. What is the recipe that Amy recommended for this? Did it have lard in it? Thanks!
Thank you so much! Both the instructor, Tatsiana, and Amy just suggested we use a very slow moving recipe. If you'd like to see the exact recipe I used, I posted it in my soap challenge blog post. Here's the link - kapiamera.wordpress.com/2016/08/13/charcoal-lavender-mint/
So beautiful. I love your soaps. Do you mind telling me the ratio of charcoal to sunflower oil in your infusion. I work with charcoal so much, that I just want to premake a mix of it to make things easier.
Susan Pollak Thank you!! I don't mind at all. I use a ratio of 1 teaspoon of charcoal mixed into 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil.
Awesome job!
Thank you!
Look like a texture you see in water, when the sun shines on it.
Beautiful 🔥
Me encanta, quedó precioso 😍😍👍❤ felicidades
How are the tops planed, and the edges beveled?
Congratulations! Your videos are so enjoyable to watch... Relaxing! Question about this method- are you able to clean and reuse your squirt bottles afterward or do they get tossed/recycled? just curious since it seems like there might be a bit of wasted soap batter.
Thank you! I always wash and reuse the bottles. I only use wide mouth bottles, so they are easy to scrape clean and then wash.
I love it!!!!
Awesome 👏🏻 I loved ❣️❣️
Lovely!!
Thank you, Heather! :)
That is beautiful! 🌷
I want to learn making soaps is there any beginners video
Very Beautiful😻💕👏🏾
Parabéns excelente trabalho
Thank you! Obrigado!
Holly, thanks so much for this excellent demonstration of DF soap. Your soap looks yummy! I am wondering if you think this technique is too lengthy for actually making a larger amount of soap - say 4 or 5 lbs. Think SB would just get too firm? Also, I've watched a slew of DF vids and all appear to trim off a lot of soap, ending up with just a few bars. Do you think that is standard with this design? I'm trying to weigh in on whether to try a larger batch.
Thank you! My soap definitely got thicker towards the top, so I’m not sure about doing a larger batch. It might work, but the pour is so incredibly time consuming. As far as trimming, if you had time for the soap to set up longer (I had to hurry for the challenge), you could probably get away with just planing the edges instead of trimming. It really just depends on how well your pour goes and if the design looks good to the edge. Good luck if you try a larger batch! :)
Spectacular technique!!!!
