Item customisation could have been a skill. Applying auras to your armour and weaponry rather than just poison and burning arrows. It would progress like slayer and quests combined where you complete and gather some sort of material that's only dropped when you're looking for it up to a certain level and then there's a time based event like hespori and tears of guthix where you attend a minigame like class to make the auras, using the minigame resources. I feel like more people would just be buying inferno capes and tbows all over then, I know they are, but its not "flooded" either. Some gamers wanna get the feeling of doing it yourself / making that money, and I think having flashy sales of tbows and billions of gold will make even MORE people buy it. Its like legalizing drugs, you do defund the mafia but the government gets all the cash.
The PVP stats idea is good *purely* because it creates consistency in the inconsistency. Instead of "this specific weapon doesn't work the same way in wildy" its ALL weapons work different / have different stats.
The rwt idea is brilliant, he's mentioned another one, dedicated bot worlds, and that could be monetize and controlled. Content can be locked out of these worlds.. And gametime could be limited. The dedicated servers would be very smart, and I really don't see the negative effect of it on the community.
Pvp stats sound cool till you consider why. We allr eady have upgrades that are millions that = maybe not even 1% upgrade. Sure some are like huge or you know maybe a 5% upgrade but I feel if they added pvp gear it would be required after everyone else has it. That's a issue with WOW. If you want to pvp you have to get new pvp set and trinkets and whatever else you need for just that season every season, it's very annoying. Atleast in osrs once I get it I got it... till I die then I'd have to prob go get another set... I could see this being very annoying. Also if there is a set for every style and you tri bred in wildness.... ohhh I wouldn't want to re grind that. I'd like to think you could use mutiple styles in a pvp set but that would be op. Maybe do somthing like void gear just swap head pieace to switch styles? Idk it would be annoying I think. There are some private servers already wild osrs is a example. The augmenting I though should kinda be in game already. Rs3 does it more were you can add perks to junk or whatever. But I like the idea of maybe a new skill revolved around it? We're you attach gems to gear get xp (makes them un trade able like rs3) but just un atach and do again. Higher lvl means attune high gear. Near max you can use other gems maybe added or we have bunch gems in game already so maybe use some of those. To add certain affects/perks if mixed with certain items to add some flavor. They can be small upgrades too. Like sapphire up magic by +1. Green ups range by +1. Red adds +1 strength. Rwt I think is slowly consuming osrs devs and community rares. If rwt wasent so big in osrs. I feel like there would be more tbows, shadows (already bunch) , scythes, torva in circulation more at a better price. Why do these people need +20 plus mega rares. It's not like you can equip them all and go farm. Rwt are honstly worst then people that keep 1 of everything in there bank that they can afford. Sure it's annoying because not like you can use it all well you grind whatever you grind but it's 1 of each. Not a collection of mega rares. And if rwt beco,es more accepted botting will probably just get worst and feels like they just got rid of bunch bots.... no no. Keep rwt away please, unless they looked into renting services in game for people to help barbarian assault or boss kc like corporeal or other wilderness bosses I could see being okay but most of those people who are getting paid rwt that gold soo.... it's not as bad as hoarding all megas and you actually need to do something besides sit on your megas your trying to sell.
Bro half of these streamers are so annoying with screaming at the top of their lungs over a drop. Why was the Synq clip included too? That was so annoying hearing him scream that he can “destroy” the boss for a pet drop.
Introduction of PvP stats to gear is something I've been saying for years but I was under the assumption that the engine work was too hard for them to bother attempting to implement it. The RWT idea could land Jagex in trouble over laundering so it might not be such a good idea. Also, allowing players to officially sell gear and gold for real money is going to have all sorts of effects on the game/bond economy. Not to mention what sort of repercussions that may occur from heavily incentivizing players to farm gold. Officially sanctioned "private" (hosted by Jagex) servers are a bad idea for many reasons. I'll provide just one example; allowing the server owners to make their own custom changes to the game just isn't a good idea from the perspective of a publisher. Next thing you know, the BBC will be outside Jagex HQ, -harassing- kindly asking employees why players are able to join the klan because a cheeki breeki PS owner decided to modify H.A.M members and introduce a whole new questline where you get to join the cause and fight the good fight, brother.
So just make Ancient Warriors equipments available to use in the Wilderness then? and make it statless while wearing outside of Wilderness just like the old Vesta, Statius, Morrigan and Zuriel equipments. Buf if it's 'too OP' then just nerf the Strength Bonus to +0% while retain its accuracy bonus for the armour, hide and robes pieces being it situational to bring to land more hits but at lower damages.
The screenshot you showed on RWT was sort of rooted in this notion that Jagex was letting people spend tons of money daily with no duty of care for the player (i.e., crippling debt). What was proposed was a little different IMO... it would make Jagex the marketplace, not the seller. Not sure if it impacts their views on compliance with regulation any differently, but a bit nuanced.
I agree we need pvp only weapons and armour and runes and spells that are basically castle war gear only works inside the wilderness same as shadow doesn’t work in the wilderness east thing for jagex to create. With a new pvp change like this it could attract many players to the wilderness from other games
i dont pk, so i dont really have an opinion on mat k´s pvp proposal, but the rest seems really fcking fine to me. Customizable Items would be a great addition to the game, maybe combined with a smithing rework or another skill. Private severs may take away some players from main worlds, but i think it would be better if jagex provided safe and reliable servers, without too much p2w despite the bonds to access. Most privatservers feel like a cash-grab and operate with some really shady business. Allowing rwt sounds like a bad idea, but lets face it - its something we will never get rid off, without limiting freetrade like we had back in the day. Having a regulated place provided by jagex seems like the lesser evil, though im not sure how this would affect bonds. English isnt my first language, feel free to correct me
Here's something a lot of OSRS players may not know: If RWT is legalized in game you will officially kill chambers of xeric as a piece of content. More money is RWTed through the exchange of mega scaling than any other service (more than kits like blood torva, boss boosting, account building). Allowing people to do this as they wish will push a massive body of players towards mega scaling that would otherwise engage with the content and other players. CoX will get an identity for being the cash shop raid, which will further drive players that are good at the content to start doing it for real money. Mains will supply the raids while irons buy up the raids in numbers -- there will be no reason to run normal chambers any more if your goal is cash. This is to say nothing of the money Jagex will have to spend to prevent fraud, chargebacks, etc... hell no to RWT being something Jagex handles.
Jagex could land in hotwater over laundering as well. Too much of a headache. Anyone remember when the free trade restriction happened? Jagex only did that because payment processors was getting uppity over credit card fraud and charge backs. Anyone who has ever had the displeasure of visa/mastercard threatening to cut you off knows how much this impacts your bottom line.
Mega scales are definitely not the largest area for RWT, youre delusinal if you think that. They also currently fully legal, no need to break rules to do it
@@Scorkula Which servicing market trades more than tens/hundreds of billions of gp per day? Just because they’re legal in game doesn’t mean people buy gp or spend real money to do them
We never going to get custom private servers l, but I don't think they would impact the main game like people think. People would just mess around on them while grinding the mains game. If anything there would be less alts in game. What isn't necessarily a bad thing. They would just game the game fun a crazy Idea I know.
Rwt is already in the game you can buy bonds and trade it for gp but honestly its not a bad idea to make it ok and charge a percentage and update the bot detection I mean the plays would be funding the no bot movement
Jagex all ready offers rwt in the form of bonds why not offer a flat rate for straight gp. Would also help stop botters by lowering the amount of bonds available for cheap
if runescape servers every shut down i want a .exe version of the game i can play, even as an iron, just a working version that doesnt require a server or internet connection
Introducing two-way legal RWT would be terrible for so many reasons. Firstly, I think bot detection is better than we assume and less of a problem than we act like, but this would cause botting to skyrocket, introduce insane gambling issues into the game, and bring lots of really shady people into runescape. You might as well just link gold to crypto at that rate, it's going to have the same effect. Of course I think I'd love to make money from my account, but that would also destroy any remaining anti-optimizing sentiment within the community. You would constantly be doing the math on how much money you are making while playing a video game. It's soulless and depressing.
The problem I see in the wilderness is alot of people just want an ego boost/to bully people who have less gear than them and take their small amount of gold for dopamine. Make the combat brackets smaller or invent a gear score system to have people fight on more equal terms. I'd also like to see a few worlds for the wilderness that have ironman like rules in affect, meaning if you haven't earned an item yourself you can't use it, no buying from GE till you've gotten the drop.
Rwt in osrs is basically the same as trading cryptos irl. We were crypto trading before crypto even became a hit. We were just decades ahead before crypto as it is now in the blockchain took off
Literally the fact that none of MatK’s suggestions are in the game is one of the main reasons I still play the game, customisation for items? What’s next? A fucking iron man character skin? 💀
I can't agree with you on the p server thing, there's already thousands of people who play p servers already.. and it could possibly bring those people over to the actual game.
because buying items is an integrity choice, if you dump 100 bonds just to buy a tbow. you're a loser not a chad. because thats p2w and thats always been super lame. go flex your credit card elsewhere.
@@Anotherhumanbean12345 And that's their choice they can make already, i wouldn't worry so much what random people you don't know does with their money.
Nothing wrong with RWT, it is only pride that forces people to hate the fact that people could buy their gear. private servers is a super good idea, I'd love to have the whole world to myself and not be bother finding things to do with bots in my way.. The whole reason for a private server is to be away from people. Mod Mat K is filled with a lot of wisdom and fairness. I wish he never left Jagex. We need him.
All of my TH-cam ads for OSRS lately have included "INCLUDES IN GAME PURCHASES" on the bottom... seeing this reveal makes me feel even more sus about what is happening in the background at Jagex...
Gold buyers will buy gold. Just make it Jagex regulated. Also, if private servers will pull many players from the main game. Then there's something wrong with the main game.
A few companies have tried to tap into the black market trading profits in the name of making it "safer" to do end up ruining it completely. Diablo is a main example of why you should not do this, I don't feel confident they would make a viable system for it

Why does gnomonkey look like a 12 year old Leonardo dicpario ?
Bro half of these streamers are so annoying with screaming at the top of their lungs over a drop. Why was the Synq clip included too? That was so annoying hearing him scream that he can “destroy” the boss for a pet drop.
I love the idea of brackets in wild instead of wildy level would be sick for pures and zerks
Yo anyone got the link to buy the twisted bow for $49.99? 👀
Not sure if it impacts their views on compliance with regulation any differently, but a bit nuanced.
this game has paid for my car, tuition fees, house bills you name it. i cant thank osrs enough for what its provided for me and my family.
That dino clan clip might be the best thing ive ever seen on osrs
The beauty of osrs is its simplicity, don't take that away.
I agree we need pvp only weapons and armour and runes and spells that are basically castle war gear only works inside the wilderness same as shadow doesn’t work in the wilderness east thing for jagex to create. With a new pvp change like this it could attract many players to the wilderness from other games
The RWT idea is similar to governments decriminalising weed imo could work or could encorage more rwt than before.
i dont pk, so i dont really have an opinion on mat k´s pvp proposal, but the rest seems really fcking fine to me.
They also currently fully legal, no need to break rules to do it
Can’t believe ppl take a couple mins to write such bullsht, impressive
@@Scorkula Which servicing market trades more than tens/hundreds of billions of gp per day? Just because they’re legal in game doesn’t mean people buy gp or spend real money to do them
@@Klusje can’t believe people take the time to reply to it either just to express their meaningless opinion
osrs is one of the only games i play because I love it and because theres no microtransactions outside of bonds. I hope they dont change that
Slander itswill was merely offering to help that person build their poh the clip has been cut short.
That was good
We never going to get custom private servers l, but I don't think they would impact the main game like people think. People would just mess around on them while grinding the mains game. If anything there would be less alts in game. What isn't necessarily a bad thing. They would just game the game fun a crazy Idea I know.
All of Mat K's ideas were really good, and would definitely benefit the game, contrary to what the degenerate efficient-scapers think.
I realworldtraded near the year 2000, in classic. I was in the 2nd grade in school.
I paid ~3 dollars for rune platelegs and chainbody. good times.
Rwt is already in the game you can buy bonds and trade it for gp but honestly its not a bad idea to make it ok and charge a percentage and update the bot detection I mean the plays would be funding the no bot movement
Bro pulled off the legendary "imagine" into the drop well done
The private server thing would be sweet. Imagine a private server where rng(max hit everything) is just deleted so speedrunning is only skill based.
Bonds are already rwt.
Just let it happen.
you can't sell gold through bonds, just buy it
@@lom7923 You buy bonds with your credit card and sell em on the GE. That's how bonds come into the game in the first place.
Will finished off by saying…player owned house that is with a hammer and saw
increase the bond to more than 14 days would be a nice solution
U guys don't have new clips? Kodia +pet 21 August???
Idk if it's bullying if you fight against someone who isn't willing to risk more.
Okay but what did that private message you blurred out say
They need to extend the wilderness
Rwt in osrs is basically the same as trading cryptos irl. We were crypto trading before crypto even became a hit. We were just decades ahead before crypto as it is now in the blockchain took off
Literally the fact that none of MatK’s suggestions are in the game is one of the main reasons I still play the game, customisation for items? What’s next? A fucking iron man character skin? 💀
I can't agree with you on the p server thing, there's already thousands of people who play p servers already.. and it could possibly bring those people over to the actual game.
Sorry Mat, those are literally all L takes.... MAYBE the Pivate servers would be okay, but I bet Ryan from SpawnPK would be preetttyyy upset.
You can already buy gp via bonds. Whats the difference if they apply the same gp rate to items or straight gp?
because buying items is an integrity choice, if you dump 100 bonds just to buy a tbow. you're a loser not a chad. because thats p2w and thats always been super lame. go flex your credit card elsewhere.
@@Anotherhumanbean12345 Im just saying its already in the game. Not justifying it bro.
@@Anotherhumanbean12345 And that's their choice they can make already, i wouldn't worry so much what random people you don't know does with their money.
the ex before mod mat k doing some heavy lifting thank god
Nothing wrong with RWT, it is only pride that forces people to hate the fact that people could buy their gear.
private servers is a super good idea, I'd love to have the whole world to myself and not be bother finding things to do with bots in my way..
The whole reason for a private server is to be away from people. Mod Mat K is filled with a lot of wisdom and fairness. I wish he never left Jagex. We need him.
Damn 2nd dude really said OOoOOOOOOOOooOO
All of my TH-cam ads for OSRS lately have included "INCLUDES IN GAME PURCHASES" on the bottom... seeing this reveal makes me feel even more sus about what is happening in the background at Jagex...
Brother it's referring to bonds/subscription
@@zWooTWooTz for now....
That 1 guy is still going with drops
I’ve played osrs for 18 years and never have I ever real world traded I don’t get it
Gold buyers will buy gold. Just make it Jagex regulated.
Also, if private servers will pull many players from the main game. Then there's something wrong with the main game.
Been playing for 20 years ! Don’t fuck it up for a 3rd time !!!
Custom items, like the DT2 quartz?
Not something I would want loads of?
That's why he is EX-Jmod.
Bonds are already RWT. You can buy an item thru that gold. No different.
A few companies have tried to tap into the black market trading profits in the name of making it "safer" to do end up ruining it completely. Diablo is a main example of why you should not do this, I don't feel confident they would make a viable system for it
Most people can't play 8 hours a day. Private servers would be so fun. Imagine hardcore gim with 5 buddies with 15x multiplier xp
What about the make a legit bot detection instead? After all bots are gone the rwt can be implemented but idm selling rn risking the acc anyway.
I would NEVER RWT! HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE ME OF THAT! *odacap*
Im so glad gnomemonkey is still alive i heard he died maybe that was a dream
We have pvp weapons and armours already which can only be used on bounty worlds? Did you forget about this.
the custom weapons thing is just invention from RS3 in a way
