Thanks for the blooper reel in the middle of your video. LOL A third cutting method for the pole wrap is to turn it upside down and cut from the backside with the circular saw. This will greatly reduce chipping along the cut line.
Haha it was super late and I was super tired 😂 Ya know - I was thinking that about flipping it over since the blade spins backward… usually cut plywood upside down like that. I’ll have to try it next time!
When you're cutting plywood or something like the wrap, you're better off using a high tooth count saw blade. The 24 tooth blades that normally come with the saws are for rough lumber cuts where you don't care about the clean edge. There are 60 tooth or higher that will leave a much cleaner edge. - Chris
Hey, Tylynn. I'm going to build a toybox for my grandson for Christmas, and both your "fail" (not) and this build are great. This is a couple of years old, but if you see my comment I would really be interested to know how you liked it over time. I've always felt like big toyboxes are great because there's a place to put a thousand little people things, but anything that gets to the bottom gets forgotten... until you go to get rid of it and it's their favorite toy! Did you like the size as your kids used it? Also, I have to say that I love the two videos I've seen. Thank you for letting your personality show through and not editing it out! The smiles when it you're amused and the shrug and "oh well" when things weren't perfect are refreshing ... and cute 😊. Thanks for the content, and I look forward to seeing more of your projects in the future. P.S. I saw you Vikings shirt in one of the videos I watched! SKOL!
Thank you for the kind comment! Yes, we've liked this toybox. It's always tough to keep it from gathering the kids' thousands of "treasures" (rocks, sticks, teeny tiny pieces of toys...you know the things they collect 😂). But as long as I clean it out every now and then, it's been great. It's quite large, so we've mostly used it for bigger toys like nerf guns, large figurines, stick horses, bows, toolboxes, etc. I'm constantly reevaluating better ways to wrangle the chaos haha but the toybox is handy to just throw a bunch of big stuff in!

Super Projekt
I like it!!!!! Those are character marks. If you don’t like it in the future you know how to paint.
Good job.
Haha exactly!

I’ll have to switch for next time. Definitely been struggling with the coarser blade lately
Love this!! 🤩
