Four Decades of the Quantel Paintbox

Four decades ago, the first Quantel Paintbox had a transformative effect on
motion graphics and subsequent digital paint tools. A hardware and software
solution aimed at TV studios, the Paintbox was widely used by many
creatives.
Join digital artist Beau Tardy and photographer Adrian Wilson, who created
key works using the Paintbox from the 1980s to the 2000s. Also joining the
session will be video producer Matthias Paeper who has recently restored a
Paintbox to working order with Mark Nias. Our panel will talk about their
experiences with this groundbreaking system and share its distinctive
images during the session.
