bruh why is the comment section not giving ibz some love for how honestly he spoke about his childhood and how this affected his first relationship. we love you ibz
Leave law, come to consulting. We have cookies ( like actually free food). But seriously, we can't put our goals just around our work - work isn't everything so GOOD ON YOU for wanting to move towards achieving your purpose apart from just law!
You look so well Ibz. Thanks for being so honest, as always you are inspiring people that no matter what start life gives you or who is in your corner, if you put the honest work in, good things soon come !
Ibrahim it is an honour and a pleasure to be allowed the privilege to have just a small window by which we are able to watch you learn, grow and transform into the beautiful young man you have always been and are still becoming. As someone who has lived through many seasons (have to bring your spice), I honestly adore you and cherish watching you develop through your own seasons too. Whether it was the boy struggling to find his feet through difficult childhood trauma or the newly minted young man transversing the world of higher education amongst a foreign territory of cultural, social and economic differences or the young man experiencing the first pangs of an adult relationship and now the man emerging from all those life lessons to find his true voice and calling, I have nothing but genuine love and respect for you and find you amongst the finest of people I have ever known, hold you up as a positive role model for our youth and love, love, love seeing that smile return after every battle is fought. You are in your every right to take time to explore who and what you wish to become next and to do it in the way that suits YOU best. The fact is, in your heart of hearts , like I too knew when I was your age, the career or job(s) you take on will never define you (and what a wonderful thing that is) because the quality of your relationships and what you leave behind as a result of them will always mean more - be it friend, partner, husband, brother, worker or father. You have gained the insight that many don’t gain until much, much later in their lives and that means you haven’t become more subdued, you’ve become more mature and wiser. Of course you still have a lot more growth ahead, we all do no matter what are physical age, but your reflecting in who you truly wish to be has opened wide the endless possibilities to come, this time with a road map of where you are, where you would like to get to and where you no longer wish to go. I know you will just continue to grow and grow and thrive - perhaps as a solicitor, perhaps as a professor, perhaps as a teacher, perhaps as a member of Parliament or who know but ALWAYS as a good man who is not only worthy of love but filled with love to give as well. In case I haven’t said it enough - I love you and you will ALWAYS be worthy of true love from someone who respects and honours you as you are - Ibz, my main man! My gentle soul. My man who will, one day, be a shining beacon of what love IS meant to look like for others as well. Fatherhood and real love will suit you well because it is coming from you of your own free will and is not something you just think you “have” to do. Enough from me now. I’m starting to cry. I genuinely, genuinely love you and I mean that in the most plutonic and friendliest of ways only.
literally one of the realeeeest people i have seen on YT - im so glad youtube recommended me your videos because suscribing was an amazing decision. being vulnerable is brave! all my respect! loved that part on love and how we receive it.
This is a really inspiring and comforting video - I feel like there is so much pressure to get involved in the legal sector as quickly as possible because of how competitive it is but Ibz reminds us (and me - a fellow GDL student!) that it is perfectly okay to take time cultivating your dream career and not everything has to be achieved straight away. So excited to see your journey through Oxford and beyond!
Omg I’m so late with this video, apologies. I’ve watched you from the very beginning and returned back to your channel to see how you are - now being in my final year of the Phd. I found your realisations so touching and moving in terms of wanting to be a family man and a competent professional in your field. And could really relate to parts of your family background and the kind of experience of first love that it fostered. I had the same experience. It’s one of the most painful things to go through but it necessarily points to the wounds that need healing - so that we can offer ourselves the compassion we and/or the people in our lives may have withheld from us. Apart from this, I have nothing more to say other than it’s so amazing to see how much you’ve grown as a person (since I last watched you when you were at cam) - how poised, self aware and purposeful you are. You are so loved by so many of us, and not just because of your incredible achievements but because of what a genuine, caring, compassionate and simply good person that you are. But most importantly it seems like you’ve steeped into self-love and the beautiful practice of it. Sending you all the warmest wishes and look forward to being a witness to the continued blossoming of your incredible spirit Xx
Ibz is literally a living hero, I don’t know how many times I rewatched his videos during A levels when I felt hopeless, that was years ago! I don’t think I would’ve made it to A2 without you, got too much love for you Ibz ♥️
Before you start your LPC just know it will be changing in the next year or two, and you can do the SQE instead which will be cheaper than an LPC. Check the SRA website for more info.
After watching your most recent videos of getting into oxford to do a masters and also learning that you are aiming to become a solicitor and these ads would help fund your studies, I have to watch them all. I am also aiming to become a solicitor later on in my life (I'm only in year 13 :3). Keep doing what you're doing and In Shaa Allah you will get the training contract fit for you!
I'm going into the 2nd year of my LLB. This summer after lockdown was lifted I started interning at a law firm and they have already implied that they want to take me on and train me to become a lawyer once I graduate. As grateful as I am (alhamdulilah), I'm constantly questioning whether a career in the legal field is right for me. It's important to be honest with yourself and keep an open mind.
wishing you health and happiness during your masters and whatever comes next ibz !! thank you for sharing about your family & relationships too, its really reassuring to hear from someone else who has gone through similar things :+) All the best !
Wow the parents influence on relationships is so true - my mum and all her cousins are single mums now and my grandparents have never been the most loving people! I’ve dated a couple of people during my uni years, one was more serious (never had boyfriend/girlfriend title) than the other so when that ended it felt like a break up but as you said you learn and grow ✨
I'm in mental health and it is one of the most frustrating but most rewarding career to have (but don't get emotionally attached..). It links with so much social care and it is sad to see how the welfare system fails people.
friendship before love! love will hit you in the face when you least expect it. Focus on your studies and career , everything else will come along. Your parents may not have won awards on parenting, but maybe their journey was troubled too, maybe they had no role models, maybe they didn't experience love either. Maybe they had major disruption. In time you will move on emotionally. I say all this from a good place, and from personal experience.
I'm so excited for future study with me videos! Especially if you upload some that are real time! Thank you for motivating us to be our best academic selves :D
Such an interesting video :") I'm so happy for you Ibz and watching you for years now, I can see your growth. I met you briefly at Cambridge's law residential and I felt your positive energy straight away. Keep doing what you're doing x
Can we take a moment to talk about your corduroy tshirt???? OMG, I love it. Where did you get it from, I need me a piece. The lighting in this video was just it. My first love also taught me a lot about myself and like you said, set a bar to know what love is. Even though it's crap how it ended (cheating) and hurt a ton, I'm very grateful to have gone through it and I know one day I will meet someone who won't do something like that to me. One day... haha.
