- Sanjay Gandhi National Park is a protected area in Mumbai, Maharashtra State in India. It was established in 1969 with headquarters at Borivali
The rich flora and fauna of Sanjay Gandhi National Park attracts more than 2 million visitors every year. Tourists also enjoy visiting the 2400-year-old Kanheri caves sculpted out of the rocky cliffs which lies within the park.
Here are some of the Fun Facts of Sanjay Gandhi National Park:
Funfact #1: SGNP covers the area of 104 Km sq. that too inside the city of Mumbai. This national park makes a major role that Mumbai is still breathable (in terms of pollution)
Funfact #2: Since the thermal conductivity for stone is high, we feel the sense of coolness because the heat is flowing out of your body and through the stone. It's a very different experience sitting on a stone inside the cave
Funfact #3: The 109 caves in kanheri caves which includes various Buddhist sculpture and stupas all are craved from only 1 stone. It itself is a architecture miracle

Many many thanks
The way u narrated in a crisp manner was so enticing that I couldn't forward a single second. Kudos to your presentation skills Mam. Just loved the video.🧡
Wow, thank you! I always try to provide the mix of information with the location. Keep Travelling 🧡
The video is superb! Thank u for posting. I just visited yesterday and I wanna go back and do all 102 open caves. We covered about 20 in 2.5 hours.
Yesterday bike hire charges were Rs. 100 for 1 hour if hired from the forest office inside. Deposit Was Rs. 300.
@06:00 min woh dining table nahi...scriptoria and chanting hall hai. Darbar hall. Monks used to gather here in this hall for copying Buddhist manuscripts under guidance of their senior teachers and also do their chanting and learning of religious texts. Similar hall is in Ajanta Cabe no. 5.
The imp not to miss caves are cave no. 3, 11, 34, 41, 67, 87 and 90. Kaneheri is most famous for its natural rainwater harvesting and water filtration system. Each cave has a water cistern.
Very gteat इंफॉर्मेशन thank you.....

Can we directly go to kanheri caves?
Or do we necessarily have to pay entry fees for sgnp first then enter kanheri caves?
Kanheri caves is inside sgnp, so we have to pay sgnp entry fees first and then to kanheri caves
@@PritiYadav Thank you so much for the reply!
Great video!
CNA you plz tell us about the shuttle service from sgnp to kanheri caves how much it costs and ticket price if you remember?
Now, Maharashtra govt bus runs between sgnp and kanheri caves, that charges only Rs 10. Now, very few vans are there for private transport between sgnp and kanheri caves because everyone opts for bus

Kitana dil se बोलती हो आवाज 👍
Thank you so much for the lovely compliment.
Mujhe भी जाना है 😭😭😭🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
You must visit
Why on earth is everyone so focussed on the entry ticket prices when it comes to seeing something cultural? BTW kids/ family ko ya wife / girlfriend/ mistress/ partner ko Starbucks, McDonalds, food court, movie ya chhole bhature / chaat khane ke jaoge toh won't you be spending Rs 200 to Rs 300 each? Kaneheri caves packs history going back 1,800 years. It's a superb specimen of ancient history right within Mumbai City and we want to do it almost free. Last I checked Walls ki Cornetto was for Rs 80 .....so this is about 2 ice creams. This is complete chindigiri.
It's open now for tourists?
Yes, It's open
