This video is about making marquetry drawer fronts with a continuous image over the drawers. I show how the substrate is prepared and how the veneer is applied and separated.
Hi Ronnie, Greeting from the Ono Handed Maker Australia. I just found your channel and have subscribed. I will go back over a lot of your videos as your work is incredible. Regards James
Thank you James ! I saw a video of yours and will definitely follow up. I have a lot of respect for what you can make with just one hand, just great. I will subscribe, greetings from the Netherlands, Ronnie.
Very nice. Wife wants me to make one! I wish I could do that but know I am a couple of years from from attempting something at this level, at the very minimum.
Ronnie, thanks for your advice. I'm very focused on practicing my cutting (zig-zags, tightening curves, fish eye circles). I'm staying within the pencil line most of the time and getting better. I also recognise that an important part of marquetry is a good colour library of timber veneer. I'm lucky in that regard and have access to a wide range of Australian species. Is it OK to store it at near thickness (3.5mm?) or at greater thickness (IE. 1"). Again, thank you
Hi Sir, I’m Lok, from HK and feel so impressed with your work( especially the inlay cabinet ) May I know where do you learn these or how you practise these skills? Is It from books or you have someone to teach you ? Hope that you see my message 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hello Lok, I didn't have someome to teach me. I worked as a restoration carpenter and furniture maker for over 25 years. The marquetry is something I have learned from reading about it, waching videos, and trying out different techniques.
@@ronnie_rozenga that’s even more impressive! I wish I can learn that too. I am into cigar humidor making and some of the marquetry on the lid is amazing to me. Though I do not have too much of the wood working experience( have just made 2 boxes and two chairs) Will you think that I’m too early to learn this?
Sir, you should have millions of views. Your work is breathtaking. To see this level of art, work and patients is very rare in life, and I just got to see it. Thank you
Glad your back with more beautiful work
Thanks, I am designing a new project but this will take a while.

It looks amazing!
Thank you !
Prachtig werk! Mooie verzameling handgereedschap ook.
Bedankt ! Ik heb inderdaad diverse handgereedschappen, in dit werk heb je dat ook nodig want een groot deel is handwerk.

I store my stock with a thickness of 3mm and use it for several years. It doesn't give any problems as long as you store it dry.
Thanks for sharing your fantastic work and techniques.
Thank you !
Great work 👍
What kind of saw blade do you use?
Thank you ! I use the Pebeco 3 sawblades for the marquetry.

@@manlok6687 You could start with simple marquetry images and then refine. It is all about practice, just try and have fun !
If starts with a plane, it's worth watching
