The rematch speed is the reason I'm hyped for Tekken 8. I learned Tekken 7 waiting for each rematch with a friend -- I couldn't imagine anyone NEW making the conscious decision to sit through those load times just to get bodied in current year. I'm ready for the next battle. Please don't put me in another loading screen.
I love Tekken, but it is seriously lacking in introductory features. I don’t think 7 even had many tutorials. You can learn it without them, but it’s so tough to feel like you have a complete understanding. I hope they drastically improve on it.
It doesn’t the help the devs charged for frame data that should have been free, while the punishment training and replay analysis were actually free. I never understood that.
@@shadysheisteryep and i saw a bunch of "tekken fans" complain about making 8 have more new player friendly things in it, I can understand the concern of making things too easy to enjoy but hating on the fact that more people can play your game is ridiculous
@@Dabajawsyeah exaclty. I see the same people who complain tekken and other fighters are so niche and low with players but also complains when they try to make things A LITTLE easier and accesible. Lets be honest you probably cant have it both ways..
Ima just going to clarify that every movement option can be cancelled by another movement option. So you can cancel backdash into sidestep aswell, pretty good as a low risk option to bait a whiff at midrange as you can cancel into block again free form.
Dads sometimes come from places you don't exactly expect. I owe half of what I got in my life to a German guy I met playing dota, God bless him. And, in the end, even if you won't meet someone like that, you'll still get to be a dad one day, hopefully :)
Good for... Atracting new players? Maybe. Capturing new players? No. Teaching new players how to play? No. Giving new players have a fun good time? No. Enraging competitive new players? Yes. Making non competitive new player run in panic? Yes. Destroying new players's souls? Yes. Making new players into cannon fodder for old player's test and research? Yes.
Thank you Gekko's dad, know both your son and his community are incredibly thankful to you, you absolute mythical beast. Best of luck in your endeavors!
Suggestions: Mesh WiFi Set or Powerline adapter. I use a mesh wifi set. Netgear Nighthawk Mesh specifically - And the bonus nodes have Ethernet ports on them. That is how you avoid super long cables. And still manage a wired connection. Powerline adapters are cheaper ways to get Ethernet ports in locations that don't have them as well.
I have tried pretty much all fighting games as someone that has put most his gaming hours into fps games and such i always was fascinated with the fgc because of the hype moments and the idea of being in the driver seat when it comes to the outcome of a game because most team based games can make you feel like you are not really improving because it is so easy to blame others for your own mistakes that being said i basically found tekken 7 to be the easiest game for me simply because of the 4 button layout im not sure what it is but it was super hard for me to figure out the street fighter 6 button layout
I honestly feel like tekken is a hard game to learn how to play. However T7 was my first fighting game I’ve learned how to play. The skills I’ve learned such as spacing , movement and poking have helped me out immensely in other games. It didn’t really take me that long to get the hang of either strive or sf6. Tekken is a fun game but not a game for everyone in my opinion.
gekko's dad just straight up said "my child may be an adult but that doesnt mean i cant help him every now and then" and gave him what im guessing was little under 1K dollars.
One thing to note about the netcode section, the way the send receive system is setup, a shitty connection is more likely to mess up your opponents experience rather than your own. Not all the time, but more than youd think. Your involuntary experiment may have just given another tester a few VERY choppy rounds. Thank goodness Tekken doesnt really have a jump game or youd have been instantly levitating on your opponents screen a lot without realizing it
Despite everything, I just don't see enough new reasons to give 8 a shot. Graphics update, online seemingly works. That's great for established Tekken fans, but I dedicate my time to SF6, Strive, and P4AU. While also playing other genres of games. I ain't got time for a full priced Tekken 7 expansion
Tekken 8 isn’t an expansion. The new heat system allows people to be more aggressive. You should play tekken cause you’ll realize there’s so much more that meets the eye. Plus it has a lot more depth than SF6 and persona 4 arena combined. Didn’t realize people still play persona 4 arena I thought it was a dead game lol
@@kickass2733 p4au is a dead game lol, but I wouldn't say Tekken has a lot more depth then sf6, it's pretty arguable as Tekken characters may have a lot of depth but once you learn the game many characters have very similar gameplan and options while street fighter can be more varied in that aspect
@@lukeblaker8009 I wouldn’t say sf6 has more depth. I’m tekken every character has over 100 moves and they all have completely different game plans. Like if you put Bryan and eddy in a match they both have completely different game plans. Bryan is more defensive with great keep out while eddy crushes alot of highs and mids and has great punishment. Also every character can be played completely different depending on the play. SF6 doesn’t have this because everyone uses the characters the same. Every ryu plays like every ryu and so on and so forth
I gotta say guys, your arguments really convinced me. Imma just stick to Strive, Street Fighter, and P4AU. (There's still a local scene in my area?) Heck we even got a 3rd Strike scene. Saying SF6 looks like 4 or 5 shows me you really haven't seen those models in a while. The question of the video was, "Does Tekken 8 offer NEW players a reason to play?" I saw nothing really new other than changing the rage system, updated graphics, and the online seemingly works. If they reveal more features as T8 gets closer to release, we'll see. (Expanded training options, combo replays like GG:S, non clunky lobby systems, maybe a story mode)
I really love to watch Tekken, and I begun to learn semi decently but its awfully inconvinent tryin to learn even the basics of the game and it has so many mechanics its really rough for new players, unneceserly so.. I REALLY hope there is tutorials for all the games basic mechanics and systems. I really want to get into Tekken but honestly dont got the time nor the energy to sift through old videos of people explaining things quite overwhelmingly. Edit after watchin the video: I feel hopeful since it seems like tekken are taking some queues from sf6 and such, is that a proper tutorial will be in the full game release. Either way im excited to give the game an honest try!
