As a child who grew up in the 1980s in Ibadan southwestern Nigeria, I recall listening to this music repeatedly thanks to our Igbo neighbors who often had communal gatherings. Chief Osita Osadebe's voice was as though my grandfather (neither of whom I got to meet) was speaking directly to me with timeless wisdom. It did not matter that I did not (and still do not) understand the Igbo language being an Esan from Edo state. What a remarkable and timeless work of art, 40yrs and counting.

Osankwa himself. It's safe to say he invented music😂 His sounds a re unique. Till date nobody can recreate his sound. It's easier to recreate the likes of Oliver and Orintal brother
