I am always moved by this video, the ending showing that today it is possible to live with the virus, I hope that Freddie, wherever he is, knows how the statement he made before he died helped to reduce the stigma of the disease worldwide and how his institute helps people like us to this day. He was so brave
Freddie was a great romantic
Hi Pluto. The sound is good now ✌🏼Beautiful song 💗 I don’t think it’s important to try to figure out if each song Freddie sang was a personal situation of his. Freddie was simply the greatest singer and he performed each song with his heart in it 💛 TY for your super reaction 😊
Freddie was in a happy relationship when he recorded this.He has always said his songs should not be taken seriously. He said tongue in cheek. This was his favourite song from Mr Bad Guy.
Freddie had that ability to make songs sound big and emoted so much emotion into them! the song was recorded in the mid 80-s but believe the video was not added until 2019. Might want to check out "Who Wants to Live Forever" live in Budapest 1986. It is a Queen but well it!
I’ll definitely check that out! Could you hear the sound pretty good on this video? Some are telling me I’m having sound issues
So pretty but so ver sad.
PURE emotion...love till the end...
Stunning ❤❤❤ I love it ❤❤❤❤ always brings me to tears 😭
Beautiful song and video 🥺❤❤
Luv this one, although I find it a bit sad. As usual Freddie 's vocals are on fire ❤
I believe in 1985 he was breaking up with Winnie and leaving Munich to go back to London. He was beginning a relationship with Jim.
This was an 1985 release about a relationship ending. The video insinuating that is was about AIDS was made years later.
I Love it 😭❤
One of the only reactors who didn't frown at this video or ignore its content, you're a good person, one even said it was disgusting, the world has changed so little
How on earth can it be disgusting? 😠 Some people are pathetic. I hope the commenters went off on him or her.
@@faithpearlgenied-a5517 Hi dear, I came across unpleasant comments in a reaction to the radio interview in which Freddie said that this was his favorite song on the album because it was something very personal to him, if you want to check it out, it's at minute 30:07:

I was very saddened by this comment because it is obvious why he finds the video disgusting, especially since it is a sweet video

For me the most complete interview we recorded about Freddie, this interviewer was great
I love this so much
Thanks, Pluto.. such a beautiful song.. (yep, notice the "virus" in the cartoon... but I prefer to focus on his vocals and the melody!!).. Love your reactions...
It wasn't about Freddie or his relationship, he was with Jim as far as I know by this time, and it was used for HIV /AIDS eventually, with the video, not sure if Fred wrote it at the time of his own diagnosis, as he knew something wasn't right for a couple of years beforehand
He started the album in 83 released 85
During that time his relationship ended with winnie he had met Jim
Jim sais he went over to visit Freddie said he was spending the day with winnie that was the last time he saw him
He was then with Jim unyil he died
How about the soundtrack songs, Wants to live forever, Princes of the universe, its a kind of magic.
😢
This song was released in 1985, long before Freddie discovered he was HIV+, but as he always said when asked about a song's meaning, "It means whatever you think it means". And like many of Queen's and Freddie's solo songs, after Freddie's death, they took on new, more poignant meanings for us. This video was made for the song in 2019, when the other band members realised that it could fit Freddie's illness, and the fact that it was now possible to live with the virus, just as well as his original inspiration, the break-up of his affair with the Austrian actress Barbara Valentin.
Come on it was not long before. In 1985 Freddie was already beginning to show signs of HIV, tiredness, increased sore throats etc and definitely would have suspected he had HIV by then. It lay dormant for around 5 to 7 years, meaning he contracted the initial infection in the very early 80s, started having HIV symptoms in the mid 80s and was clearly sick and the test proved it had turned into full blown AIDS in 1987.
He also knew some of his ex lovers were dying at the time this song was made so as he wasn't stupid, he certainly would have suspected he was sick.
He also never claimed it was about Barbara. It's interesting that you even believe he had a genuine relationship with her. Even her own kid said she's a liar lol.
@@faithpearlgenied-a5517 According to Peter Freestone, Freddie took a test in 1985, which was negative. It wasn't until the big concerts in Wembley and Knebworth that he started suspecting there was something really wrong, which led him to taking another test in '87, which was positive. It was also Freestone who mentioned Freddie's affair with Barbara being the inspiration for this song.
No sensible information to claim he was with Brabara even his family said no
I love the song very much, but I don’t like the video, because this song was originally written as a simple, beautiful love song, but the creators of the video gave a whole new meaning to it in 2019. Of course I know, that Freddie got this terrible desease and it’s very important to deal with AIDS these days too, but why with this song? (Besides I acknowledge the animation itself is great.)
Thanks for checking out the sound, it's OK now.
Beautiful song .. but I prefer it without the animated video!
Nothing against it but I find it distracting!! My opinion ..
The first version I saw was the original and I do prefer it, although this animated one does have a message.
In an interview Freddie said that this was his favorite song from the album Mr. Bad Guy, I thought it was beautiful that they chose it for the Freddie Mercury Institute video 💔
