Thank you for sharing this. I am trying to setup SMTP but getting Authentication unsuccessful. Would like to ask if you were able to test SMTP. Thank you.
Thanks for the feedback. I didn't test SMTP but I'm awfully tempted to now. I'll see if I can't make it a priority in the next couple days. Good luck. I'll be sure to keep you posted.
So, unfortunately after a little digging it appears that SMTP is not supported (w/ the client credential flow): learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/client-developer/legacy-protocols/how-to-authenticate-an-imap-pop-smtp-application-by-using-oauth#smtp-protocol-exchange "... SMTP Oauth 2.0 client credential flow with non-interactive sign in is not supported." That's kinda too bad but at least now we know!
Great video and hoping to get it to work. Do you know if there are any other instructions for installing on a Proxmox container? was following the Vagrant instructions but when using Proxmox with an Ubuntu 22.04 docker image, you need to create a venv to allow Python3.12 to run. How would the "ln -s /vagrant/emailproxy.config" command work with my setup? Any help or pointing in right direction would be appreciated. Thanks again.
Unfortunately I didn't try Gmail. I seem to have some vague memory reading that Gmail doesn't allow the credential flow for imap. I could be wrong though. If you do manage to get it going, it would be great to hear from you. Thanks for the feedback!
@@lakelse2 Hi for Gmail I am still struggling. I will update if I could make it. Have you tried catchall for domains if yes please guide me. I am having trouble in this as well.
I was missing the Exchange configuration part. Excellent video. Thanks!
You’re welcome! Glad it was helpful.

Hi will this work with fetchmail? thank you for sharing.
I haven't tried that but I don't see why it wouldn't. If you get it going, let me know! Thanks for the feedback!
Hi. Even at full volume I can barely hear the audio in this video.
Would be nice if this would also work on Windows and we dont need to install a Linux VM for that
Yeah, in retrospect, it may have been better to use WSL or Docker Desktop. Thanks for the feedback!
