In this video we visited Iguazu National Park from both sides the Argentine and Brasilian.
Iguazú Falls or Iguaçu Falls are waterfalls of the Iguazu River on the border of the Argentine province of Misiones and the Brazilian state of Paraná. Together, they make up the largest waterfall system in the world. The falls divide the river into the upper and lower Iguazu.
The name “Iguazu” comes from the native Guarani words, “y” meaning “water”, and “ûasú”, meaning “big”, and the falls certainly live up to their colossal reputation.
Approximately half of the river’s total flow channels through a narrow chasm called the Devils Throat which is made up of 14 powerful waterfalls. This creates the widest curtain of water at Iguazu and tends to get photographed the most.
There are two trails called the Upper Circuit and Lower Circuit which both offer great views of the falls. It is also possible to take a boat onto the river and see the Devils Throat up close.
On the Argentinian side, you can walk along several boardwalks near to the falls however be prepared to get wet from the spray and mist.
On the Brazilian side, there’s access to an incredible lookout with an expansive view of the entire falls. You may need a visa to cross the border but the panoramic views are worth the hassle.
Your entrance to Iguazu National Park includes unlimited rides on the ‘Green Train’, an ecological train circuit that takes you through the jungle and along the river, stopping at the main walking trails and Devil’s Throat.
Speedboat ride
Get up close and personal with the falls, by taking a boat ride into their watery depths. You’ll get drenched as you ride the churning rapids, and it’s an exhilarating way to get right under the falls. Depending on the season, the weather will be quite warm, but you’ll need to bring a change of clothes after your exciting ride.
