I showed my son this tube video last night. He catches a lot of his BJJ classmates in the side control arm-crush. He had never seen it done when your back is turned into them. We rolled a couple of times trying to figure it out. The turtle position worked well! He also did it off the hip throw. He likes going into it off the hip throw because he has good timing off the Judo trips. He enjoy's doing the Scarf from the hip throw, but the arm-crush just seems sneakier to him. He was wondering if there were any major disadvantages going into the arm-crush off the hip throw, or if it was just a turtle move? Great video! Thanks, Super Helpful!
Haha he actually has held the NJ State Deadlift record for about 10 years and is a BJJ Black Belt multiple time Champion & CACC World Champ. He’s been my understudy for over 11 years. Just a great all around tough son of a gun. Thank you for the support. Best wishes to you in your training. 🙏🏻 - J. Bane
I think you're totally right. I feel like leg riding, crucifix and the truck position should be more important in BJJ. Lots of ground and pound or submission opportunities from those positions.
@@chaos_omega My Judo coach showed me a thing where you attack from the side, straighten the closest leg out and drive through, flip them on to their back and into the scarf hold. I think it only really works in gi though.
ryan dravinski CSW is a Hybrid of BJJ, Judo, Catch Wrestling and a few other forms including amateur wrestling. It’s a great program. However, our program is pure Catch Wrestling. Thank you. - S. Jackson
This channel is worth to be payed with gold to watch.

Great stuff. Joel is an excellent instructor and moves methodically through movements with on point narrative.

That little dude that gets torqued on might be the new BMf. Anyone who keeps coming back for more of that is nuts. RESPECT.

I really like turtle position. Most bjj guys don't know how to attack the turtle other than trying to get hooks in.
The guys at my gym no longer even try to attack it, they give me a free stand up.

Agreed it is really easy to force guys to be to high.

What's the difference in Snake pit catch wrestling and CSW? Is CSW the same thing except with Mma mentality?
