Hi Tina! I think since I’ve been watching you, I have never seen you use a single shadow! So you did a great job decluttering. You showed one Bare Minerals, that you said it was a powder and I loved the applicator! I wonder if they still make those? It must feel so good to have gone through all those eyeshadows! Have a great day my friend!❤️
@@tinasbestmidlife I think you might be right. I used them in a video once, Eyeshadow 101. But it was over 2 years ago, so I don't think we knew each other yet. th-cam.com/video/EDuTVurlUfs/w-d-xo.html
Great job! I just gave two box & a bag of makeup to a teacher in my neighborhood. She is going to share it with her teacher co-workers. I’m glad they are going to good homes. During this low/no buy year, it’s allowed me to really focus and use what I have. I’ve been slow decluttering throughout this year. It feels great.
@9023rsd what a great idea! It does feel good to pare down to what you actually use. And then USE IT! I have quite the bucket of empties to share later this month.
Hey Tina! 👋 I love a good swatch party! Fortunately, I have this little thing called a Shelby that will happily take anything that I don't use plus some that I do. 😀 Too bad about not knowing about all those single shadows but YAY for all that space for new ones! I don't use single shadows either unless I have them in a z pallet. I don't do glitter at all. With my hooded eyes, you know who gets my liquid shadows and most of my shadow sticks. I'm still on the hunt for my holy grail eyeshadow and face primers. Tfs and I'll see you soon 🌈 🌻 🤗 😘 🥰
Excellent video and great job with this declutter. I know that can be painful in the moment but also satisfying. It's so important not to keep things in our rotation for the fantasy self. It interferes with what we actually use and can overwhelm us. I only have 10 single shadows now, and I really don't reach for them enough. I've discovered that I prefer liquid eyeshadows in a tube with the doe foot. I can throw a bronzer or a blush into my crease quickly and apply the shimmer liquid shadow without needing a primer underneath. My single shimmer shadows do the same thing but I have to take the time to apply a primer. I can't wait for your palette declutter now!
@@TinaHBeautifulJourney I did the same thing. It's fun and exciting to build a collection. It takes time to learn our preferences. Thankfully now that we know we don't have to make the same mistake again. We can enjoy what we have. In this case, less is more.
This was fun to watch, Tina! 😃 It’s so ironic that you are decluttering your single shadows, as I was just reorganizing mine last night by color. I had a Coastal Scents 12-pan Winterberry palette that I realized I wasn’t remembering to use because it was separate from my other singles, so I removed those & incorporated then into my regular magnetic palettes so they would get the use they deserve. Surprisingly, my Coastal Scents single pan shadows have all held up quite well quality-wise despite being older in my collection. I’m glad to see that someone else besides myself has a few Bitzy shadows kicking around as well! I recall buying those from Sally Beauty, & some are quite pretty. I really like a lot of the AOA Studio singles (especially the mattes), If you’re ever looking for a specific color, they are decent quality despite being only $1 , & they are also cruelty free, so assuming that means no carmine. 😉 I find it difficult to reach for any kind of cream shadows myself unless it’s the rare time of using one as a base. I’ve concluded that I’m definitely a powdered-form gal when it comes to eyeshadow! 😃👍💕
@scotzmnswife I find it fascinating to hear how others store and use makeup! Thanks for the info on AOA quality. They need to be vegan to be sure of no carmine, not just cruelty free. Also, good to knownon the coastal scents. Maybe someone will want them and I won't have to trash them after all.
lol!!! that is amazing! I wish I had some of my way super old stuff from college days, the oldest makeup I have is my First Palette I ever bought myself in my late 20s - the Tarte In Bloom of course lol BUT the things I do have from my makeup collection from high school and college is my first makeshift set of makeup brushes, I don't use them anymore but I still love them so much :D tfs!
I really should do this, too, or maybe set a bunch of singles on the chopping block. While I do put at least one single or duo in my weekly makeup rotation every time, they still don't get used like palettes do.
@agingophelia9812 I may put what's left in a chopping Block project. Because I fear they may just languish in the drawer still. Good for you for using at least one a week!
OMG I've been waiting for this video! I was thinking about you this week and wondering if we would get it. I'm watching it while I drink my morning coffee with my kitty by my side. 😊❤
It's been a long time coming. I'm not sure why I kept putting it off. I think because I knew I was going to be getting rid of so much. But it feels so good to have it done!
@@TinaHBeautifulJourney Yes it feels amazing to only have the products in your stash that you actually reach for. What was funny about this one was a lot of the colors you decluttered are the ones I use like the purple, deep navy, but I'm a bright winter and need the depth and vibrancy.

@LeannaDalton it sure does! I hate so much of it went in the trash. But I'm glad to have only products I think I'll use. And if I don't, I'll get rid of more.
I don't understand why I keep hoarding so many make up products. I REALLY need to do a big clean out. I'm going to take baby steps and start with my travel makeup bag since I'm currently traveling. I have so much I need to get rid of once I get home.😩
@travelingexpats I don't think there's anything wrong with a larger collection per se. If you use it and love it and can afford it, it's fine. It's when I have stuff in a drawer that I never reach for, know I don't like and will never use. That feels wasteful to me. I like variety and it's a hobby for me, so I'm never going to have a minimal collection. This one has been hanging over my head for so long that it feels really good to get it done.

Lol. Impossible for me not to.
Wow you did so well, Tina! I really need to do something similar - I have quite a few dried up eye tints which need a cull 😊
@beautybydez it didn't take nearly as long as I feared it would. And I think I'm going to pull out something of what is left for a look today.
