Thanks so much - lol, hope the Middlegrades sounded good and you find them in your library. Alot of them being US titles and not published in the UK I have slim pickings, but will now treat myself later. I bought 3 from last years shortlist 😃💜📚
@ Yes. 😃 They had a majority of them at the library. I didn’t have much time to look for them (library closed 30 minutes after we arrived), so I’ll be putting in holds to pick up at a later time. What are the three that you bought from last year’s shortlist?
I loved the first skandar book and this reminds me I need to continue the series. And I love elle mcnicoll even though I haven't read keedie myself yet. I have never read any middle grade by katherine applegate but I did like a YA I read by her. I've heard good things about books by lapinski, alston and kelly yang so I need to try something by them at some point. I have read some middle grade this year (last one was mayowa and the sea of worlds) but I wouldn't recommend that one to the list and this reminds me to read more MG. Not quite a ghost is also a yellow wallpaper retelling which is why I want to try it. I read the first book in the greenwild series this year, that reminds me!
🙈🙈🙈 i replied but posted as a comment instead of a reply, copied. Deleted and went to post here...of course i had not copied it 🙄 I think i said - i read and loved Greenwild last month. So keen to keep reading! I think i am going to binge the Skanda series when all are out. I hear really good things! Elle McNicoll is amazing I want to read her whole backlist! Kelly Yang i have been meaning to read for years and keep failing. Yes Not Quite a Ghost is inspired by yellow wallpaper fun reading project to read both together 💜📚 💜📚
@CharlieBrookReads 😃💜📚 was just browsing waterstones future Middlegrade releases with my breakfast and was intrigued by Stonewitch coming out 2025 and have added Hedgewitch to my TBR! Great to hear it has the the Charlie endorsement! Running behind schedule so, yes I definitely add it on - thank you 😃💜📚
@JentheLibrarianreads Aw that's lovely to hear! It always surprises me how many books tackling really fascinating subjects there are 8n this age range! 💜📚
@novellenovels Yes, great shout surprised I have not seen that one around more! Entering it as a hidden gem and thank yiu so much for sharing the Middlegrade love 💜📚
@scallydandlingaboutthebook2711 thanks so much Ros, I really appreciate the Middlegrade love spreading. I have found some amazing books because of doing this last yr - Hamra and the Jungle of Memories in particular was a beautifully written Malaysian Retelling of Little Red Riding Hood exploring Friendship and dementia - and the importance of tying yiur shoelaces 😉💜📚
My hidden gems that I'm excited to read: Gut Reaction by Kirby Larson and Quinn Wyatt. A kiddo loves baking but then is diagnosed with a chronic illness that limits what she can eat. And The Last Hope School for Magical Delinquents by Nicki Pau Preto which is set in a magical school.
I just got the pumpkin princess! It will be my last Halloween type book for the season!
Whooo looking forward to your thoughts, it sounds so fun! 💜📚
Getting my pen and paper ready! I plan to pick up whatever I can from the library this weekend. 😊

Such a lovely idea!! Seawitch by Skye Mckenna is the third book in the Hedgewitch series which a sweet little series so I vote that if possible!

I’ve not read any middle grade in a few years, since I stopped being a school librarian, but this has me enthused to get back to reading some again ☺️

My hidden gem is aya and the star chaser by radiya hafiza. Will share this now as I love middle grade books 💜💜💜

I wish I knew more about middlegrade books to be able to contribute ideas!
@tillysshelf Thanks for the support though Tilly. I imagine picture books are more than enough to be enjoing on top of your regular books 💜📚
@@ChattieTheMadChatter I am loving the picture books! Robin's favourites so far are Dear Zoo and The Very Hungry Caterpillar
@@tillysshelfloves classic, clearly takes after you 😉💜📚
I'm not up to date with current middle grade so no suggestions but I applaud your intentions so will share this to try to reach readers who are!
