In south florida it is way too hot for a shield. I commute everyday through traffic and haven't found a helmet that flows better than a mx helmet. Sitting in traffic you notice a big difference in temperature. Just my experience. Thanks for the content
You can wear goggles with most dual sport helmets as well. The Suomi MX Tourer flows great air while riding but at stops it's not as good as goggles of course but be careful because goggles restrict some of your peripheral vision as stated in the video.

I wear glasses so my peripherals are great to begin with. So I guess I don't really notice the difference. I could certainly see someone he doesn't wear glasses noticing a big difference though

During the summer here in Georgia, it gets too hot and humid for the dual sport helmet. If it’s a group ride with lots of hooligans action, I’ll wear the goggles but if we’re going to be on the highways I’ll wear the dual sport helmet because it doesn’t catch as much wind.
I ride my xr400 about 60% street 40% dirt, it can get hot where I live, and I prefer the goggles to face shield. It gives a ton of air flow, and still protects my eyes from mud, sticks, bugs. The shield I’ll use when it gets cooler out, or for long street rides. I think a mix is good as long as you’re not an off-road poser
In my opinion goggles are superior when the weather is nice, just gotta get a helmet+ goggle combo that fits well, some come with goggles by default. I almost always ride with open visors when i have one because of heat+ it feels nice, but goggles still offer that fresh air for your face while also protecting your eyes and not letting the wind dry em up
I wear tinted goggles under the face shield for the sun. When its dark, I just dont use the tinted goggles, it's easier than switching between tinted and non tinted face shields
that's my go to as well ... sunglasses under the shield during the day and nothing at night. Only time I miss the eye protection is when I want the air flow while it's too dark for shades
I once thought of switching to MX goggles to work around the fog that grows on my eye glasses in my morning rides whenever I wear a face mask inside my helmet, but I thought it wouldn't work well for me. I couldn't find any MX goggles that work well for those who have to wear eye glasses, so I decided to stay with my visor, and just kept it open whenever I'm on stoplights. It's also good to know that they also don't have a wide vision, which I didn't consider back then.
for trail ride in a tropical country, helmet with google feels like your head is in a sauna. i mainly use dual sport helmets in the trails because you can close it with one hand if there are bush and twigs around you.

Offraod helmet with goggles is nice and cool with air flow. But if you riding at high speeds, the visor whips your head around a little bit, not alot, but enough to mention.
I ride with goggles.. I can see just as well as my full face helmet. The main reason I do is because it’s daylight on my way to work so I use tinted goggles. On my way home it’s dark so I use my clear ones. It’s way easier to carry and change goggles than carry my bulky extra shield for my full face helmet
I rock both but I prefer the goggles w/mx helmet.. why the mx helmet ... it has more air flow, has the bill for roost and sun glare and as for the goggles they totally seal your eyes from dust/dirt , debris , sweat , air which make your eyes water , roost from other riders....etc.... you can get lenses with tear offs so mud, bugs, and other shit that sticks to them...just tear em off and you have a clean lens.... a must for mx riding.... also the mx googles seals from your breath which is the main cause for fogging, heavy breathing when mx riding, or any other hard riding.. It will wear you out ....as for visibility , I think its fine.. you just learn to look both ways more often
Well theres also a thing like a plastic u can put on your visor from the inside so it doesnt fog, i put it on my helm, works perfectly, the only problem is u cant touch the visor from the inside cuz its not really easy to wash or clean at all, but honestly its not that big of a deal
I rock a dirt bucket and goggles during the summer. It's just too damned hot in TX to wear a full face helmet, but I don't want to lose the protection of a chin bar so dirt helmet is a good compromise.
I don’t have a dual sport but I ride single track hare scrabble poker run I wear a face shield now cause I almost lost an eye from branches sticking out like Spears and I also notice more visibility in the trails too 👍🔥
I disagree I wear one with goggles , even in the winter with no problem . hell even snow mobile helmets are essentially mx helmets. but I can see having a dual sport helmet for crunching hwy miles or heavy rain..
I used to agree with you on this but I wear contacts alot and even with my face shield down my helmet flows alot of air and I can't close most of the vents so after an hour of riding my eyes would be so red, dry and killing me. So last summer I decided to give goggles a try and they made a big difference for my eyes. They wouldn't be burning or look like I was really high after a long ride. Later I found out there are people with the same issues that wear goggles that get nasty wind burn on there eyes.

i bouht the dirt bike helmet and goggle for y electric skateboard, then bought an electric street motorcycle, because i already have the helmet and goggles i use them. But thanks for your perspective. I might get a full helmet indeed
look into bell mips adventure helmet / mips technology/ if people don't like goggled offroad style helmets but want the protection of motocross helmet for off roading and street . it always best to get the right gear for the style of riding you do / motcross/ adventure/ cruising/ sport riding / or mix if want protection vs comfort different style gear are made for those style riding and give best protection for those style of riders
I ride 85 percent pavement but I wear a full face dirt helmet because I feel like I would look stupid riding an adventure bike with an aerodynamic sport looking helmet on
Anti-fog hack for shield and googles: Clean your shield /googles with anti-dandruff shampoo (i.e. Head and Shoulders)...lather it inside out and then wipe clean....no fog and seems to make bug removal and smudges easier to clean.

Haha makes no sense bro most people buy a sumo to ride enduro/cross and on the street. A full face for cross is just ridiculous at least if you ride “proper” enduro it’s way to hot... and on a dirt helmet you can remove the goggles. Also most people already have a dirt helmet so why buy a new one

Your first day out there at a Motocross track or real singletrack trails will teach you more than you have learned in the past 4 years. You go there and try it. Shields break and get ripped off all the fucking time. Plus I think if I rode some real off road with a visor I would suffocate and die. Streetbike helmets dont flow any air
Street Full Face with shield, Dirt Track Off Road Goggles with tear offs, after getting muck in your face, then googles with tear offs make sense. you can get full face tear offs, The Speedway guys use full face helmets with those. I don't do dirt much anymore. Just my two cents FWIW LOL
It is a bad habit to put your bike in neutral everytime you stop, if someone doesn't see you at a light they could hit you, and not being in gear will get you hurt or killed, it's better to practice keeping your bike in gear at all times and just hold the clutch in vs putting it in neutral and trying to find a gear to save your life

I wear dirt helmet and goggles because thats all i have and im too cheap to buy a new helmet lol
and you can wear it offroad if you ever off road, I think a helmet that can be used both on road and offroad it better than a helmet with only 1 use

I have a modular shoei, but I also have prescription riding glasses, so I can raise the visor and have my eyes protected.
for trail ride in a tropical country, helmet with google feels like your head is in a sauna. i mainly use dual sport helmets in the trails because you can close it with one hand if there are bush and twigs around you.

Offraod helmet with goggles is nice and cool with air flow. But if you riding at high speeds, the visor whips your head around a little bit, not alot, but enough to mention.

I ride with goggles.. I can see just as well as my full face helmet. The main reason I do is because it’s daylight on my way to work so I use tinted goggles. On my way home it’s dark so I use my clear ones. It’s way easier to carry and change goggles than carry my bulky extra shield for my full face helmet

I rock both but I prefer the goggles w/mx helmet.. why the mx helmet ... it has more air flow, has the bill for roost and sun glare and as for the goggles they totally seal your eyes from dust/dirt , debris , sweat , air which make your eyes water , roost from other riders....etc.... you can get lenses with tear offs so mud, bugs, and other shit that sticks to them...just tear em off and you have a clean lens.... a must for mx riding.... also the mx googles seals from your breath which is the main cause for fogging, heavy breathing when mx riding, or any other hard riding.. It will wear you out ....as for visibility , I think its fine.. you just learn to look both ways more often

Well theres also a thing like a plastic u can put on your visor from the inside so it doesnt fog, i put it on my helm, works perfectly, the only problem is u cant touch the visor from the inside cuz its not really easy to wash or clean at all, but honestly its not that big of a deal
I rock a dirt bucket and goggles during the summer. It's just too damned hot in TX to wear a full face helmet, but I don't want to lose the protection of a chin bar so dirt helmet is a good compromise.

I don’t have a dual sport but I ride single track hare scrabble poker run I wear a face shield now cause I almost lost an eye from branches sticking out like Spears and I also notice more visibility in the trails too 👍🔥

Goggles in the winter, blenders in the summer. To hot here in TX to be enclosed.
I used to agree with you on this but I wear contacts alot and even with my face shield down my helmet flows alot of air and I can't close most of the vents so after an hour of riding my eyes would be so red, dry and killing me. So last summer I decided to give goggles a try and they made a big difference for my eyes. They wouldn't be burning or look like I was really high after a long ride. Later I found out there are people with the same issues that wear goggles that get nasty wind burn on there eyes.

look into bell mips adventure helmet / mips technology/ if people don't like goggled offroad style helmets but want the protection of motocross helmet for off roading and street . it always best to get the right gear for the style of riding you do / motcross/ adventure/ cruising/ sport riding / or mix if want protection vs comfort different style gear are made for those style riding and give best protection for those style of riders

Anti-fog hack for shield and googles: Clean your shield /googles with anti-dandruff shampoo (i.e. Head and Shoulders)...lather it inside out and then wipe clean....no fog and seems to make bug removal and smudges easier to clean.

Your first day out there at a Motocross track or real singletrack trails will teach you more than you have learned in the past 4 years. You go there and try it. Dirt Track Off Road Goggles with tear offs, after getting muck in your face, then googles with tear offs make sense.
you can get full face tear offs, The Speedway guys use full face helmets with those.

The REAL issue is being a moron and STEALING from within your own community to be disrespectful.
It is a bad habit to put your bike in neutral everytime you stop, if someone doesn't see you at a light they could hit you, and not being in gear will get you hurt or killed, it's better to practice keeping your bike in gear at all times and just hold the clutch in vs putting it in neutral and trying to find a gear to save your life
I put mine in neutral at nearly every stop, be vigilant but can't be constantly worried about getting hit.
