Thanks for the video. Have the phone and new moment case/filter adapters on order so glad to get this preview of the lenses in action! Couple questions still open for me.... 1) Is that a beta / version update of the Moment app? (Time stamp 4:58) I'm not seeing the 1.33x and 1.5x in my app, just the traditional A for anamorphic, which seems odd. 2) Should we assume that the lenses don't work on the 3x? Unless I'm missing something, everything was shot on the main. Even though the 13 Pro 3x apparently didn't work well with the tele, I believe other lenses (like Anamorphic) did work with the 13 Pro 3x, and given the similarity on that 3x in the 14 Pro, they should work...no?
Hello, its nice they work but it seems to me that 58mm and 18mm have a vignette in the corners ? (probably because of the larger sensor?). Also it seems to me from the samples you showed that the details towards the corners of the photos degrade a lot more than the previous 11 pro for example?

Just got the moment case for my 14pro. I have the older 60mm lens and the 28mm wide due I started with moment years ago with the pixel 2. Not using them often anymore. The 60mm is unusable on the main camera. On the soon lens to get extra zoom it works. The 28mm seems nice to have better ultra wide but it has a vinigette. Maybe for style it is nice. Will see. New lenses are for me too expensive at the moment. But what is really nice. The drop in lens mount protect the lenses pretty well. And the case is super nice

Just in case anyone was wondering about the price difference for the anamorphics there’s currently 2 versions of both colors, 4 versions total. Both gold and blue but they both have 1.33 and 1.55. Which effect the aspect ratios. (I believe the 1.55 is cheaper and wider great for landscapes, but more distortion for people I think, but some people like that)

There already was some issues with the iPhone 13. Now the 14 is substantially bigger the vignetting is even worse
@@Mehwhatevr no problem! there isn't much thats available right now unfortunately. It looks like the quickest option will be lenses from Sandmarc. They also seem very well made and have a complete line of filters and accessories. Probably the direction I'm headed.
That or Shiftcam 2.0 is supposed to be pretty cool.

I have heard about the lens not working with the 13 series phone but I have 13 pro max and have not had any issues with the gold anamorphic or the 58mm lens I also as the CPL and nd filters stacked and have no problem indoors or outside. I use them for video and photos sorry to hear stories about those problems I guess I was one of the lucky ones I shoot using native camera and filmic pro and both work fine for me. FYI I use the smallrig cage made for the 13 pro max and have it as my permanent phone case it is a big heavy but it looks so good when I am ready to shoot I simply add the handles the lens and dji mic and ready to go

Just got the case for IP14 Pro to get back to using M-series lenses with my phone again. I had IP11 Pro and it worked perfectly with the case and M lenses. But now ... Using the 1x camera + 58 mm tele results into bad focus and the object I am trying to focus on is still not sharp. Any idea what am I doing wrong?

I don’t get it. A year ago you made it pretty clear that your 18/58 lenses did not work well with the 13 pro line. This year I emailed and got a reply just two days ago from your support. Once again, confirming that your legacy 18/58 lenses do not work well with the new 14 Pro line either. But now you come out with this video saying they do? This is so confusing. Your own support is saying they don’t.

The 58MM lens is trash on the new iphone. You owe people their money back for lying.
THEY DONT WORK. This video is edited and cropped. I personally tested every single lens with the 14 and it leaves vignetting with the 58mm, the anamorphic lense edges are IN FRAME on the sides, the 18mm lens edges are IN FRAME on all sides, and the same goes for the fisheye.
I even tested it without the lens mount, having the lenses directly against the iPhone camera crystal and got the same results when trying to see if the mount was the problem.
The 14 pro sensors are too big for the lenses, end of story.
This is EXTREMELY shitty, Moment! Tons of users are experiencing the exact same issues I described and all you have to do is check Reddit.
I was considering hanging around with the brand but this is BLATANT false advertisement. There has been no word about the problems that everyone is having from you guys and this is extremely unprofessional.
I’m selling all my moment gear and never touching your products again.

I’m sorry Moment, but this is seriously shady. You wait two months after the release of the iPhone 14 pro to comment. Your comments are vague and avoid making definitive statements about whether your aging lenses are functioning properly. The best you can do is say “here’s some test footage, you decide”. Competitors such as Beastgrip within a week of the release were 100% honest and transparent about which of their lenses are performing up to acceptable standards and which are not. Also saying what they are doing to address the problems. This sounds like you’re just sitting on a pile of old inventory and trying to move it through shady practices.

I need to return my anamorphic, wide angle, and telephoto lenses and the original purchase date was October 6th. However, the return page on your website when I enter the corresponding order number has these items along with other supporting items for the iPhone 14 "grayed out" saying not eligible for return. These items are within the 30 day window eligibility for return and I also have an email from your customer service saying they are eligible. The 58 Tele is what I desire most. Theoretically, that should afford full 48MP Instead of the 12MP crop that Apple has engineered for their 2x, correct?
Re: Moment, I’m still loyal- I think if anyone listens and watches carefully, they’ll notice that they aren’t speaking to the clarity of the images, rather, that they are “tools” to create character beyond the stock lenses. Fair enough, let the buyer decide.
I wish that they would speak in plain language around this however.
Like, “Hey! The larger sensor and (insert technical lingo) of the 14 make these lenses do this and that. They might not be for everyone. We definitely don’t recommend lens x or y with the 14 Pro, but for those of you that have it, here are some things that you can do to mitigate the following use cases:

@@coryinmotion Ok, so I received my 3D mount and case, and unless I'm not visually discerning, I don't see any issues with the 58mm or the 18mm on the 1x camera. Well, maybe a little tiny bit of shadow on the left on the wide angle, but it's resolved by pushing in with the zoom (not digital zoom). Now the anamorphic over the 1x camera is untenable, and I noticed on this video that they have it over the 3x camera? I'm going to look again in the morning and go outside and scrutinize things further...
UPDATE: 10.28: After further scrutiny, and after trying another lens (Kenko Pro Series) it's clear that the moment lenses aren't optimal with the 14 pro. That's not to say the look won't be for everyone, but it's hard to justify the purchase for me at this time. Still a Moment Fan however!
@@erikpreston2393 yeah, if you can see them in frame that means they don’t work. Try moving the camera left to right as your recording and watch the lens edges come into view during stabilization. If you’re happy with that then more power to you.

I don't think that will be possible, because from my understanding, cinematic mode uses the main and tele to achieve the effect.
I miss my SuperFish and Anamorphic lens! Had both lenses stolen from my car last summer 😮💨 Sad because I used to shoot with them everyday as it was part of my daily-carry on-the-go. Got many complements on my images shot on iPhone X. I would say that it produced better quality than I can come up today on new cameras without the lens. 😢
Hello, I will only use it to shoot my personal videos on tiktok and TH-cam for iPhone 14 pro Max. Do you have a recommendation for a normal lens that will improve the video quality? It'd be nice if it came as a set because I don't have any accessories to attach the lens to 🥰
Generally ALL extra lenses for the iPhone will degrade the quality of the camera module you are using.
The only thing they are capable is to degrade it in a relation to a specific perspective (that you might need/want).
The only thing that can improve/enhance the quality of the shot are rather filters. They allow for light control - which also has some downsides, but will eradicate the „auto“ look of every smartphone camera.
Would be great to have some kind of vertical anamorphic filter for vertical videos

@Moment What's going on here? I'm using your 3D printed mount, and I haven't had these results on the 58mm, fisheye or anamorphic. The photos have been coming out soft, almost unusable, and the anamorphic isn't aligned properly, so one side is slightly dark. We've been talking about this on the Subreddit. Did you fix the mount? Can I get a replacement, please?
Same issue for me using the 58mm. Photos/videos are soft and difficult to get in focus.

Yeah, gonna have to wait for the standard (non-3D printed) mounts to use my moment lenses.
I have bought the anamorphic lens and it is useless with the 14 pro. So much vignetting I had to check if it did not have a lens cap. Such a shame.

Today I received the moment drop in lens mount for iphone 14 pro - 2 peaces ,and one of them didn’t feet well into the moment case. And drop in lens mount for iphone 14 pro feels inferior compered to drop in lens mount for iphone 13 pro which placed evenly across the case border. And one more thing lens attaches to the mount very weakly, and it slightly wobbles when you put some force on it.
This is most likely because the current drop-in mount is 3D printed rather than injection-molded. They told me it takes time to get things into production and the injection-molded drop-in mounts are coming soon and are much more durable.
Ok. Plus for 3d printed drop in lens mount material is that it collects less dust, fiber, hairs around lenses.
Bro, I'm about to pull the trigger on the Pro Max but, could you tell me if 256gb will be enough or I should take the Pro with 512gb? I shoot TH-cam videos primarily on Iphones just like you with the Filmic Pro LogV2 in 4k, and will be willing to make use of the Pro res thing as well. Do you think 256gb will be enough for that application? I found both around the same price here in a local shop.
I shoot content only with my phone and it fills fast so I just got iCloud storage super cheap to get or have a external storage to transfer while shooting could be a solution as well
@@tattootom2261 And that is exactly the choice I made. I don't get why folks waste their money on big storage phones when the Icloud exist. Just get the cheapest of the latest Iphone model you can get and get 200gb for $3/month multiply that by 2 years or however how long you plan on keeping it and it will still be cheaper than paying all that extra money for some space you might not even use.

You can shoot 48Mpix JPEGS in the Halide app so Moment should be able to do it as well.

Really nice! I'm kinda bummed out because a year ago I spent the money to get your anamorphic lens, only to realize I needed to spend an additional $30 for the special moment iphone case to even attach the lens. Now I own a 13 pro and can't even use the same case. :(

Used to like what you guys are doing and owned most of your lenses and gears right from the first gen. Bought the Pixel 7 Pro recently, only to find out there's no moment case for it that is compatible with my lenses. Disappointing to see that Google Pixel compatibility has been dropped, seems like an iPhone only brand now. Pixel 7 Pro still has one of the best smartphone camera out there. Is it a technical thing that makes it hard to make a case for Pixel 7 Pro? Please release a lens compatible case for it, otherwise my lenses are just junk.
I'm disappointed with the news I just bought a few lenses for my Pixel 4A and with the recent release of the 7 Pro I thought to update and buy a case for this is sad
Then the modern cases never fit snug around the power and volume buttons
And the really sad thing is, that the lenses don’t even work on the newest iPhones. Even in this video you see the quality just isn’t there. And they cropped out the really bad vignetting.
Not sure about the lens but Moment is the only solution for attaching a 67mm filter to the case.

I have three or four Moment lenses I used on my previous phone. They are pretty much useless on an IPhone 14. Boy I wish I hadn’t wasted my money on these.

Does anyone else find the iPhone 14 Pro photos seem a little crispy crunchy? They just seem dirty or over sharpened. Pretty bummed it’s the look.
I tried using the telephoto lenses and the photos were blotchy and blurry and unusable. I couldn’t even take a photo of a leopard in a tree at the zoo. Nothing worked, not even using the Moment Pro app to focus. What the hell, Moment??
It does not work!! I’m confident you all are cropping the anamorphic videos. I have a 14 pro max, and for two weeks I was thinking it was me. The vignette is bad bad. I can see the edges of the lens. It’s not user error.

i've just got the case and mount for my pro max 14 and to be honest picture quality is worse with moment lenses on than the phones stock
yes lenses and all the neat things that some lenses do is cool but it sucks that picture quality suffers noticeably
its annoying that macro mode is default on every time you enable the camera, so you need to make it an instinct before you can take a photo you need to click and disable that

I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max 256 gb storage. I purchased a 58 mm Sandmarc and a 58 mm Moment lens and I could not make an image with acceptable sharpness from either one. I discovered that these tele lenses really were not designed for the 14 as the camera hardware evolved and these lenses don’t perform on the iPhone 14 platform. I’m sure it will be worse on the upcoming iPhone 15 platform that will again have an even more evolved camera. Why do theses companies sell lens systems to users when they know their lenses are not optimized for the 14?
I think you misunderstand that you can’t just use the normal camera app with them.
Those lenses mess up all the auto systems of the phones. You need to go manual with an additional app + deactivate all antishake features + use an external gimbal.
This is the route that you have to keep in mind if you decide to add lenses to the smartphone.

The moment pro app doesn’t take advantage of the stabilization with anamorphic .. kinda useless.

Earlier the moment lens made sense but iPhone has come leaps and bounds that I feel my lens from moment are of no use anymore..

The reason is this…the best lens is the main lens on your phone because it has the best low light performance, sensor, aperture, and in this case it’s 48mp.
The ultra wide camera on your phone performs less, it’s pretty much the opposite of everything I said from the main lens.
That’s why moment lenes help in getting the best quality from your phone. 🙂
I have been eagerly waiting for this video. I am a huge fan of Moment lenses and gear! When I upgraded to the iPhone 14 Pro this year I imediately went to your website to buy a new case so I can rock my Moment lenses. But YUCK is all I could think. The cases your design team have produced this year are so boring. I understand it takes time to produce accesories for new tech, so maybe there are more designs in the works. I gotta say, I loved your walnut cases from previous releases. Alas, I decided to go with NOMAD’s leather case and I am so happy I did. It feels and looks so premium. However, I can’t use my Moment lenses with it. It seems like you guys have a good relationship with NOMAD. Any chance of producing a drop-in lens mount for their cases?

Telephoto 58mm lens with a small rig cage has produces super soft images using the native iPhone camera app, Moment’s app and the ProCam app. Hopefully Moment will address this with a fix or refund everyone who bought these for the 14 Pro and Pro Max. Seems like very dishonest advertisement at this point.
