This was published on 10 November 2015, and presumably was filmed round about the same time, so this must be one of Alan Rickman's last public appearances. At this point in time, he was terminally ill, and no one had a clue. Quite haunting now, especially so close to the anniversary of his own passing.

Looks like he had some hair loss at the back, from chemo perhaps. I read he tried to use a cold cap to prevent hair loss during treatment. I don’t believe he had chemo for long as his cancer was too far advanced when it was diagnosed 5 months before he died.

Geraldine McEwan had the aura of a formidable woman, with a stern elegance that was consistent with an innate propensity for strictness and discipline.... yet, she had the capacity for a vivacious charm that even complemented her demure brand of refined femininity. Even her audacity retained a stronghold on dignity without bordering on vulgarity. Physically, she was marked by linearity and had a feline sophistication about her that was quite ravishing.
Her voice was ever so remarkable. It had a timbre to it like none other and she was so phonetically proficient in a way that dignified the English language to a status that was almost regal. Her speech had a certain intonation with its changes in modulation and cadence that adapted itself to a particular emotion... it almost "sang". In this, she remains untouched... it was a style uniquely hers.
    For me, she is immortal.

He must have been going through incredibly difficult emotion and inner turmoil, his voice at times did seem like he was on the verge of tears, the irony of discussing Geraldines passing and also being on the very edge of mortality himself😪💔I can't even begin to imagine his thought process in this room.
Alan however held his composure though, looking back you can see he wasn't 100%. Just horrendously heartbreaking. Xx

The wooing of the Anthony Trollope's fictional widow, Mrs Eleanor Bold. RIP "John Bold".
Young David Gwillam, Mister Smiley. And no the No One For President carrier bag is not ticking. But the full tick tock will be prescribed elsewhere.
The suitors were Obadiah Slope and Francis Arabin. See The Barchester Chronicles 7 TV episodes on this TH-cam. Or better still - read Trollope's books.
No real spoilers as to whom the successful suitor was but "Fie Mister Slope! FIE!"
Oh and losing suitor having been thwarted, his last words, you presume, to Bishop and Mrs Proudie (Geraldine) are "May you (both) live forever!"
No one lives forever - Minority Leader of the USA Senate. Nor leaders of the whole world. Hamlet shares views on same with Horatio. Winter's thaw and bung-holes. Alexanders the greats and the ingrates, intimations of immortality show mostly an enfeebling of the mind, McConnell. Take it from here.
Now off to whip a hand away from young Mike Gwilym. Aka Sid Halley. Whip Hand oh yes and Richard Greene's Kentucky. Put down the whip. Let Blue Grass win unthrashed! Eddle Anderson aka "Rochester". That is the broad high and WAY to go. "Peter Goodwin" can then fictionally pass having run an honest racing game. Oh and win best supporting gong too.
    THRICE!
Dick Francis - may I co-opt later book title?
Yup. Come to Grief not to apprise him.
