    Great review, I'm in the future now of this review (2023) but I'm so glad you mentioned the noise that the VR makes when shooting video. I just bought a used one for $40 and I could hear those noises (especially when playing back on the camera). I thought I have gotten a broken camera because I didn't get to test it when I bought it. I've been searching and watching for TH-cam to see if anyone addressed it, but so far it's only you. Now can at least live with it. It's actually not too bad when playing back on the computer.

    Dropped my s9900 off of the lanyard with camera on. Lens ring was dinged. Can that piece be replaced? Camera functions with exception of upper shutter will not stay open and locked while taking pictures.

    I have a problem getting the Easy Panorama to work - goes a short distance then stops every time. I don't think I am going too slow

    we really hope this isn't a dumb question, but we just bought this camera in hopes of using it as our Youtubing camera, I can't figure out how to get it to record for longer than 1 minute, does it record for longer? am I doing something wrong?

    I got mine today and I do find the battery release quite annoying. But as a beginner I think its a great camera :) very easy to use. Thank you for the review.

      I agree on the battery thingy. Its stupid and too easy going. Next time i am close to nikon i will walk in ask them to bend the spring a little to tighten it

      hi Sirjana, i want to get this camera too and im just wondering if it better than a phone camera. if you let me know if its better than your phone camera for just a regular picture (no zoom) and what phone you have. thanks!

      Faultier Hello there, I use Iphone 5 so compare to my phone it is better. As I am no professional so I dont know if my explanation will do any justice. Without zooming it does takes some decent pictures and videos. I am still getting used to its function, at times my pic comes out good and sometimes it looks lifeless. So, I play around with its vividness and Hue. I like it but I don't love it. For me the best thing about this camera is its zooming feature. I was able to take picture of the moon which was freaking awesome :D. But it gets difficult to take picture once it is on full zoom. Also, its not that good with low lighting but with flash it does the magic. I will advise you to do more research on it before you buy. Goodluck :D

    Was the battery door a glitch to your camera? I have looked at these camera's after your great review, and found that the door was more secure then you illustrate.

    (help me please) Hello, thank you very much for the video, I have a huge question, I have this camera (Nikon Coolpix S9900) and I would like to use it as a webcam to transmit in my video calls, I have seen that other cameras can connect without problems, it The only thing I need is to connect it and see on the screen what is seen through the lens. I would pass it to OBS or any other software (I know how to do it), but I have not been able to access it, I have used a video capture device (a very basic one) and nothing, I have used the digicam software but it only lets me take photos but nothing Of video. I connect it by USB, MicroHDMI-HDMI and neither, I have used a nikon software and neither. I appreciate all the information.

    I am having trouble when I turn on the camera as it opens up for some reason the shutter at the lense decides not to open. Is there anything at my end I can do?

    Great review, thank you! Could you give me adivce, would you rather go for the Nikon S9900 or Canon SX710 HS?

    • @mb-tech-tv6243
      @mb-tech-tv6243  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. Personally I use Nikon cameras. However i would say there isnt any big difference between the two. The image quality of the nikon is a little better whereas the Canon has 60fps fhd video. Otherwise its more a point of what you like more lookwise and whether you want video with 60fps. I like the flip screen on the nikon as well as the easy use with the buttons. So if you want to see something while taking ground and high angle pictures go with the nikon. To sum it up neither camera will disappoint you

    Hello do you ever have any problems with getting it to focus? I just got this camera and I can't get it to focus, I am not sure if mine is just damaged

    • @mb-tech-tv6243
      @mb-tech-tv6243  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      In daylight the focus hits almost everytime. In dark conditions it misses as well as it hits. Remember that the camera works with contrast focus. So a white wall cant really work for example. Maybe you can send me a sample picture so i can take a look?

    Hello, I am looking for a digital camera I can bring to concerts. I'm specifically looking for a camera with good video and sound quality, at least 30x zoom, can perform well in low light conditions, has wifi and a tilt lcd is a plus. My search led me to the Nikon Coolpix S9000, but I haven't seen a model in person. Do you think this camera meets the requirements I have? Many thanks.

    • @mb-tech-tv6243
      @mb-tech-tv6243  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well the S9900 has 30x zoom as well as stereo sound. Beware however the zoom is hard to hold steady fully extended. Check my video samples for an impression. Low light wise I am not sure whether the video performance will be enough. Fully extended the F stop is 6.3 so you need to increase iso to get some pictures which in turn increases noise. Just check my video at least it will show you zoom and sound. I can give it a try when its dark to give you low light feedback at min as well as max zoom range

    need your help , which camera should I go Nikon Coolpix P610 or S9900, which camera is much better?? thanks

    • @mb-tech-tv6243
      @mb-tech-tv6243  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey. I would not say that there is any better or worse. The S9900 offers more than people will ever need who buy such cameras. The p610 offers the double zoom. When you check my video with sample shots You can see the zoom range. 750mm (30x) is already extreme. If you do not need the zoom I advice you to go for the S9900 because it is much smaller and easier to handle and carry around. Sensor wise they do not differ.

    • @alinazang6651
      @alinazang6651 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      P610 is probably much better for low light shooting.

    Can you please clear me whether I should go for Coolpix L830/L840 and Coolpix S9900,I'm not professional photographer,but quite interested in photography,Now I'm so Confuse,What to choose

    • @mb-tech-tv6243
      @mb-tech-tv6243  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey.
      I would not consider buying the 830 anymore. The shutterspeed 1/1500 of a sec is way too slow compared to 1/4000.
      The L840 has some pros imagewise such as a larger aperature (3 compared to 3.7) as well as a higher zoom ans takws significantly more shots with one charge. However for me it is most important that the camera producing such imagequality is small to handle. The L840 has the size of a small dslr. I use pro dslrs for my work but for going out having a walk i want to carry as little as possible with the highest amount of features possible. For the L series you will alwayy need to use a bag whereas the S fits in my pocket. The 750mm max zoom is extreme. My largest dslr lens is 600mm and it shakes even with vr in some conditions. Plus I never need that much anyway. With 750mm you can do wildlife so why go a little more for the price of a double size body in dimension and weight.
      One big plus though for the L. The low light shots are mich better than those taken with the S. If you dont mind to carry the load go for the L840 it surely wont fisappoint you. If you want something small and easy ro handle go for the S9900. The quality of images is netween good and average in normal light.
      Hope I can help you with your decisionmaking.
      Greetings from Germany.

    kindly suggest who is the best nikon s9900 or Nikon p520?

    • @mb-tech-tv6243
      @mb-tech-tv6243  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The S9900 is the better camera of those two. Smaller faster shutter better image quality. The p520 is good for slow mo videos however i am not sure whether thats your purpose. However for me personally I use the S9900 only when i am too lazy to carry a larger bag and the P520 is too large for putting it in Your pocket.

    Is the audio quality good enough for recording vlogs with, I want a camera which is good for both photography and recording so debating between the L840 and the S9900, the S9900 however is £60 more expensive.

    • @mb-tech-tv6243
      @mb-tech-tv6243  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +DevilsMountain
      Well the quality of the audio isnt too bad. As long as you are somewhere where there isnt too much going on around you it it reasonable enough. However you should not expect some quality like a sepperate mic. I use sep. Rode mics for my videos or sometimes even a sound recorded depending on what i want to do. I cant really judge the L840 sound quality compared to the S9900. Probably They use the same kind of stereo mic build in and neither has a connection for an external mic. I would prefer the S9900 however with its flip screen when you want to record yourself because the L840 flips only down by 90 deg. so you cant see yourself which is sometimes really helpful.

      Mary Liddon Archie if you download an app called wireless mobile utility any photo you take on the camera goes to your phone but you have to connect to the internet on the camera. If you need to know how to connect to the wifi look it up here on TH-cam that's what I did

    • @mb-tech-tv6243
      @mb-tech-tv6243  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well the noise is clearly visible when taking pictures at night. Without a tripod is impossible anyway. However if you are planning to take long exposure shots a dslm will be a betrer choice. I would not really recommend the S9900 for those needs but it depends on your demands concerning quality.

      The command dial has differentfunctions depending on the mode you have selected. For example using the aperature mode you can selectthe F-stops with the dial. Shutter mode you chose the shutter speed and M mode you select all parameters with the dial. Merry christmas

    Hello does it bring the memory card? If not which card should I use ?

    • @mb-tech-tv6243
      @mb-tech-tv6243  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does not come with a sd card. I am using different cards ranging from 16 to 128 gb. You dont need any super fast cards. I can recommend sandisk cards for example or transcend. Most my cards have 90mb/sec speed which is far more than needed. Sizewise it a question of how many shots you want to store. I empty the card usually at the end of the day so 16gb wont fill up.

    Which do you think is better, Nikon s9900, Panasonic zs50, or Sony wx500?I planned to buy one for travelling but still can't decide which one among those three.Need your opinion :D

    • @mb-tech-tv6243
      @mb-tech-tv6243  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Zaki Amir
      Thanks for your comment. I would recommend the S9900 for travelling. The Sony has some features which are not needed on small cams like 30sec exposure. The pana cam is almost as good as the nikon but at least here features a higher pricetag which is not really worth it. The Nikon offers fast shutter speeds at 1/4000 of a sec very helpfull in sunlight conditions. Sony offers festures like 24p movies which for me personally is not a must buy festure unless you really need a movie cam. Dont think you will be disappointed with the Nikon. Hope I can help you with that.

    • @zakiUKM
      @zakiUKM 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In my country, those three are in the same price range, so i don't mind about the price.
      In term of image quality, which one is better? Considering its sensor, image processor, lens quality, etc

    • @mb-tech-tv6243
      @mb-tech-tv6243  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Zaki Amir
      Ich have a small sony which concidering image quality is better. Small sony cams tend to have very good image quality. My panasonic cams are better for video rather than img quality. You should not expect too much from small cameras. If you really want good images a mirrorless dslm is the better choice. But lens and sensor sony wins over pana and nikon from my point of view.

    Would you recommend this camera for vlogging?

    • @mb-tech-tv6243
      @mb-tech-tv6243  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. The video quality is very good concerning the proce tag. Depending on the location you are recording I would advice using a seperate aufio recording such as the zoom. In case you are vlogging in some quite condotions the build in mic will do pretty well but it lags some clear distinction when there is too much going on on the scene. Unfortunatly the camera does not offer any mic input so it requires a second device for good audio quality recording in difficult circumstances.

      It does not have any external Mic slot. You can only use an external recorder. The battery life is about 300 - 350 shots. depending on how often you turn the cam on and off and how long you use the screen till you shoot.
      for the screensize the battery life is ok.

    • @mb-tech-tv6243
      @mb-tech-tv6243  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +emilia joy
      In dark cirmcumstances the camera wont produce great results. This is more of a travel camera for daylight use. For concerts i advise a camera which performs well at high iso. A dslm might fulfil your needs or a camera such as the sony rx10 or panasonic fz1000. However they have a significantly higher pricetag.
