One thing that amazes me in these videos all these hotels is how very quiet it always is. It’s like people are actually considerate of others and don’t blare their TV or radio. Also everything is extremely clean. There is no toilet unflushed or trash anywhere, etc.

Maybe it's a Japanese thing? I've never stayed in a capsule hotel, but i feel that in the US there would be people up all night, blaring music, bathrooms a mess, etc.

I guess its a cultural thing that I dont find any background music in most of the Japanese made videos, which is great. It's nice that you don't like to infuse artificial moods by pushing unnecessary music inside and appreciate life as it comes.

I think it depends on the media and what kind of vid it is because sure enough some do and they use the same like, 5 free to use songs for ambience, ...then again they don't use those artificially inspiring music so, I dunno I guess its different.

It’s probably cheaper to live there than rent your own apartment (especially in large cities like Tokyo) plus you are provided with free food! that cuts your expense significantly. I’m certain some businessmen and women do capsule Hotel hopping as their transient Home.
If you Rent you have to pay (power, water, heating) utilities, so groceries food, do or pay extra for maintenance, pay for internet.
In a capsule hotel you are provided with everything. have a shower, free food from the cafeteria, free wifi, other than a Desktop some probably have gyms, pools, massage chairs, console games/arcade so free access to amenities not found in your typical apartment complex

    • @Kuchenwurst

Indeed. There are only very few things inferior to a proper hotel room:
      1. Door can't really be locked
      2. Not much room for personal belongings
      3. Not much privacy due to thin walls and door
As cool and nifty as this is, I couldn't see myself spending a longer stay there.
Overnight, or a few days living outta your suitcase, you can't get much better, especially for that enormously cheap price.

I actually don’t think it would take much to make this comfortable for a longer term living situation: just about 4 sq ft more space in the room for storage and a real door. As I wrote in another comment: it already offers more than most US collage dorms for about $3000-$5000 less for 10 months.

Most people who use these places end up there because they’re done with their night, missed the train, and need a place to crash. You’re not expected to leave your room vacant for extended periods of time, so these kinds of locks are sufficient. The thing about the culture here is that security-wise, the bare minimum is enough. I’ve seen mall shops literally hang a net over their goods when closing at the end of the night. Even the way people lock their bikes here or hang their smartphones/wallets out in the open in crowded areas would never fly anywhere else.

    Very nice Capsule hotel!
I stayed in one near Narita Airport last year. My apartment rent was up and I was going back to the US anyway so I packed my bags and stayed at a capsule hotel for 48hours. Mine was just the sleeping pod but it was more than enough room for me and my laptop. I actually had alot of fun.

How was your experience renting a place long-medium term (1 to 6+ months) as a foreigner in Japan?

    • @ChrisDragon531
      @ChrisDragon531 ปีที่แล้ว

@@victormendes956 At first it was a bit of a challenge, but I rented through Oakhouse (Suggested by the school I was going to at the time, when they found out I wanted my own place rather than a dorm).
Oakhouse was very helpful through the process, even when I asked alot of questions.
The caretakers of my apartment building were really nice and helpful too (I made friends with them during my time there).
What made things easier was the fact that Oakhouse had a withdrawal system, so I didn't have to worry about missing a payment.

Immensely Impressed by Your Unique Storytelling on TH-cam
I recently had the pleasure of watching your latest TH-cam video from start to finish, and I felt compelled to reach out and share my thoughts with you.
Firstly, I noticed that the video was without audio, a unique approach that initially caught me off guard. However, as I delved deeper into the content, I found that the lack of audio did not detract from the experience-in fact, it enhanced it. Your visual storytelling skills are so strong that I could effortlessly understand and connect with the message you were conveying, making it a truly immersive experience.
Additionally, I observed that you chose not to show your face throughout the video, a decision that I found to be quite refreshing. Your ability to communicate and connect with your audience through visuals alone is commendable, and at no point did I feel the need to see your face to fully grasp the story you were telling. Your talent for storytelling truly speaks for itself, and it made for an engaging and memorable viewing experience.
I also want to extend my gratitude for your honest and genuine hotel rating. It's evident that you prioritize transparency and authenticity in your content, and that is something I greatly appreciate as a viewer. Your recommendation was spot-on, and it's clear that you put a lot of thought and care into your evaluations.
In closing, I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for creating content that is not only informative but also uniquely engaging and authentic. You have gained a loyal viewer in me, and I am eagerly looking forward to your future videos.
    Warmest regards,
    Mahesh

This is a capsule room as opposed to just a capsule. I think it makes a lot of difference because there is private room for some stuff and to see. There also doesn’t appear to be the unnecessary space for the TV (which often isn’t installed anyway) in this capsule. Also you can get in length ways so must feel less like a coffin.
I used to stay a lot in capsule hotels in the past but last time I tried I became claustrophobic and changed to a normal hotel the next day. I probably wouldn’t feel claustrophobic in this one.
