John, we live on March 1 from Ringwood New Jersey. We have room for 1 bike on the trailer. let me know if you want to send the bike down. By the way, 55° on Friday me and a couple of my buddies are riding meeting at 11:30 at Monksville Dam you are welcome to join us
I’m from Michigan, and my brother and I do Daytona almost every year. Our weather can also be sketchy this time of year, so we air on the side of caution and trailer down. Maybe some day we will have decent enough weather to ride down. This year we’re going to do more riding by Tampa, St. Pete, and then do the last couple days of the rally.
Christmas day was a fantastic riding day here in Northern VA, sunny, 58 degrees, no traffic. All day rain yesterday and today and then Partly Cloudy almost 60 tomorrow. Not too bad for end of Dec.
I lived in Buffalo NY for over 60 + years till I got smart and moved to Tennessee. Yes we get bad weather here about 2 weeks out of the year. Hope to see you in Daytona in March. Stop by the Harley Demo truck to say Hi. Have a safe ride.
I'm up in CT, we haven't had any better weather... I managed to put 5300miles on a Wing I picked up in August before I put it away in Nov. Like I said before, I don't ride my street bikes during the winter. I do keep my little ADV ready to go all season, I'll either truck it or ride it to to unpaved roads and trails during the winter to get a few rides in. Winter sucks for riding here in the NE, we just have to find a way to make the best of it.
I'm with you. I feel your pain. I HATE winter! Especially with what's coming this weekend, that white crap. What's worse is that my bike has been in the shop waiting for parts since Labor day, after a hit and run in Deadwood in August. I've got a UHaul trailer reserved if needed to get South far enough to a buddy in NC and ride from there. Last parts for bike in this week. I'll ride it home from the dealer when fixed on a decent day. See you there.
I live in the North East of England, and I've never known a year like this one, never mind a winter! So much rain and high winds all year round this year! The NE is not known for great weather, but this year has been particularly bad! Plus I work away for 3-4 months at a time so I don't get much time to ride my Low rider S as it is. I've been going stir crazy this time home! Still got a few upgrades done on the bike though thankfully. Looks like you have a good 2024 coming up John, and I'm looking forward to tuning in 👌😎🍻
John same crappie weather here in Boston. It is a mild winter but the rain every weekend and 1 good day or 2 during the work week. Not much riding November thru Late December.
That’s awesome you’re gonna be in Daytona this year. I missed you last year. We were there at different times. Hopefully the wife and I can meet you and the crew. Definitely do updates of where you’ll be. That’s awesome. Keep up the great work. Look forward to it!!!
Winter sucks for me... the nice thing in Commiefornia right now is warm weather up north. That part I do like. I hate waiting for Spring. What are you going to do? I feel ya'...
My name is michael I’m from Buffalo NY and have been following you for a couple years. I myself will be in Daytona this year and would love to meet you. Please the dates and times of where you will doing the meet and greets when finalized. Thank you
I agree weather is funky. I logged 20k on new RG I picked up 3/28/23 5 yrs ago we went to Daytona bike week in 6* weather. Go for it, you’ll enjoy it. Peace from Menomonee Falls Wisc.
John. I will be in Daytona from 3/6/24 thru 3/11/24. We are staying somewhere between St. Augustine and Daytona along the A1A in an AIRBNB. Bikes are being trailered from Laconia, NH. The bride and I are flying into Jacksonville. This will be my 2nd Daytona Bike Week. Last one was in 2012. I turned 50 during the Nike Week. My b'day is 3/7 I will be Soc Sec eligible this year 🙂Hope to run into you and your crew.
Man, I just dropped a penny on some Gerbing after watching your previous videos. Jacket liner, pant liner, gloves, socks, dual control, aiming to do the SaddleSore 1000 this weekend and it's going to be 30F until I get out of my state.
I ride down every year. Mother lives about 35 minutes from destination Daytona. I usually leave Friday of and stay the week then leave Saturday. This year will be the new BMW 1R1250GSA’s first time. Last year, prior to my pan am blowing up, I met you at Amsoil Adams set up. The weather can be an animal, that’s for sure. I like to take Friday off and ride down in one day. 14-16hrs. Buuuuut, this year I may have to leave Friday after work, ride for 6 or 7 hrs, then get a room some place cheap near Virginia/North Carolina. You want a riding partner going down or back, let me know. We definitely have the same riding style and years experience.
Hi John……… I wanted to give you a heads up about the weather in the mid Atlantic, especially DC and a little bit north cause I know you go through it. We’re supposed to have a real good snowfall this year for the first time in a very long time and it’s supposed to go from the end of January to the beginning of March. You might want to keep in the back of your head, trailering the bike down and back. I know you don’t want to, but you could get caught in a storm that we’re going to have snow wise it’s just gonna stop you dead in your tracks for several days. And this area cannot handle snow. It can barely handle rain, and even that becomes a major obstacle around here.
That’s a bummer. I was able to ride on dry days for a half day on Christmas Day, on Thanksgiving Day, and every weekend in between and did motovlogs - and I’m in Massachusetts.
Ya in Ct. so same basic weather here as well.. I have no garage so I store my bike from mid to late November until usually mid To late March cuz we can still have snow that time of year... wish I had a garage so I wouldn’t get bike withdrawal syndrome...😂
Very nice heated gear! That's a very good feature with zone heating controls. Will check it out and more than likely purchase. We're experiencing the same weather in Winchester Va. Wet and gloomy. That's okay with me as I'll spend the time hanging out with the wife 😊. A very friendly reminder you decided not to go to 100th Laconia Bike Week. 😊 You didn't miss anything, I should have made the same decision as well and opted to attend the 120 HD Anniversary party in Milwaukee. As of now no plans to attend 2024 Daytona Bike week. I am however planning on attending TTRTTH4 in June. Ride safe ride often and keep motovlogging! Glen
I live in Illinois, pure shit!!! The gloom started in November and continues till May, I cant stand it anymore, not much longer I plan on moving south. God please help me!
Your crappy weather is just normal Seattle weather for 6 months out of the year. 50s and rain today, I went for a ride. We can’t wait for nice days or I would never ride. I went to AZ bike week this year. Got snow, hail, rain, and 40mph gusts riding down. Got stuck for three hours due to an avalanche on the road ahead of me. Had a great trip. 😂 Stay safe and make the smart decision. On my way back I had to rent a U-Haul for the bike due to a mountain pass getting 40” of snow overnight. Didn’t want to, would have preferred to ride, but bikes and ice don’t mix.
Im going. Headed from Htown. Gonna stop in Madison County Fl to see my mother. Stay the night. Then head to Daytona to stay with my cousin. Save me a ton of cash lol
We usually trailer the bikes from Houston to Daytona but this trip I want to ride my Road Glide the whole way. It's about a 16 hour ride and will be my first time riding over 5 hours. I thought about trying to do the whole trip in one day. What's the longest any of you have ever ridden in one trip?
@@borip8911 How tired were you when you got there? I have a backrest I only use for longer trips so I know that will help out. What was your cruising speed? 80 mph is comfortable for me.
This year's Sturgis Rally rode from Laconia NH to Spearfish, SD. We did it in two days. We did 1,055 miles the 1st day and 1,036 the 2nd day. The 2nd day included me getting a flat somewhere in MN and we still made it into Spearfish, SD by 7:30 PM. Unloaded and headed out to dinner in Deadwood, SD back at our AIRBNB by 10:30 PM. We were back on the road at 9 AM on Tuesday to check out the sights, got a new rear tire installed and a new Klockwerks windshield. We rode home in three days. The first day back included a detour at the Badlands :-) We logged in total just shy of 6,100 miles in 9 days.
Speed limit in MN is 75. SD is 80. I was going at least 10 over. But rainy half way thru my trip up there, all the way too Mitchell stayed in speed limit range. It rained so hard it like power washed most of my Pinstriping off front fairing and fender. Stopped at Mitchell to meet rest of group I was ready to keep going but no one else was so I stayed. Way back by myself like I said earlier just fuel and one food stop. No rain all sunshine!
John, we live on March 1 from Ringwood New Jersey. We have room for 1 bike on the trailer. let me know if you want to send the bike down.

Don't feel too bad. Hrer in upstate they salt the roads. So even on good winter days we are all shut down. Will be at Daytona.

John, you're riding down to FL? Ever run into snow along the way?
Our weather crappy here in dc… ima make that solo ride I never been… I’m heated gear ready
