Uuummmh.... someone who made a song as iconic as Queen's lead singer Freddie Mercury's "We are the champions"? Let me think........ I know!: -Queen's guitar player Brian May's "We will rock you" -Queen's drum player Roger Taylor's "Radio Ga Ga" -Queen's bass player John Deacon's "Another one bites the dust" And you know all of them :)
You should watch the whole Live Aid performance. It's considered one of the best rock performances in music history. Not just in rock but overall, I think.
Their Live Aid Performance was not only seen by the 70 + thousand people there, but by an estimated 1 billion worldwide. QUEENS performance for the charity raised millions for famine relief in Africa.
You' re absolutly right it is one of the most iconic songs ever written. And i always loved the fact that this iconic song, loved and sung by straight sport fans in every football or soccer stadium around the world was created by the most beautiful, badass, queer guy who ever graced this planet. God save Queen.
Freddie was fighting a pretty bad throat infection during that performance as well, Doctors advised him not to do the show, but he did it anyway, he is legend. You should watch the whole thing, it will show you how he controlled 70 plus thousand people out in that audience, complete control. Felt bad for any band that had to come in behind them, there was no besting that performance. Great vid!
watch LIVE AT LIVE-AID WEMBLEY 1985 (full, about 20 minutes). you will not regret it. it´s arguably the greatest live performance ever (by anybody, not just queen). despite the 90.000 people in the stadium, it was broadcastet to and watched by 1.5 BILLION (not million, billion) around the world.
I love your reactions because they are true, genuine first-time reactions, and to watch you become a Queen fan before our (other Queen fans) is so satisfying. I saw two Queen concerts back in the day with my husband and they were (are) AMAZING. The first album I ever bought was Queen's Night at the Opera. Keep the Queen reaction videos coming! You won't regret Queen. They are legendary.
You’ve definitely heard we will rock you as well, Another one bites the dust is another song that i didn’t know Queen made until a few years back. They have so many massive hits that you didn’t know was made by them. All of their hits sound so different as well. Please react to Another one bites the dust, Bohemian Rhapsody, Don’t stop me now, Under pressure, We will rock you, i want to break free, Killer queen.
Love hearing your perspective. Everyone knows this song, at least a snippet, you are right. I was 20 when this concert played. Really enjoy listening to you.
I was 15 at the time of LiveAid, watched it all day, Freddie and Queen stole the show. Just pure brilliance, Freddie had the audience eating out of his hands. 😘💚
Sung in 1985 at the Live Aid Concert. Created and recorded in 1976 for the 1977 release of the News of The World album. This iconic (so very, very few songs can ever claim that) song is now 43 years old (okay, May 2019, and a smidgen after your review). And look at the crowd. Every Queen concert was like that. And we were sardines, in every sense - once in the packed school, we responded as a single entity to the majesty of an unrivalled rock band!
I remember in 1979 this song (as loud as we could) in high school on the bus going to a track meet. Try “another one bites the dust”, that is another song we sang coming from winning a game or meet. Queens original songs are so powerful you feel charged up.
+1 billion world wide. Still have some of the originals on tape, will never sell them and if my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren try to sell them after I'm gone, I'll come back and haunt the hell out of them. 4 generations that love QUEEN!!!!!!!!
Pls watch the full live aid performance by queen.Queen is a legend and trust me they have done more iconic songs like we will rock you, another one bites the dust, I want to break free and so many other hits that once you hear it you will know it
72,000 people! but not the largest crowd they ever played to...check out that whole concert - not just the song, but the whole concert is considered iconic. Welcome! You're gonna be a happy guy for a long time as you hear more of their music. Queen started in the second decade of rock. Early iconic rock bands: The Who, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, yes the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead. They're pretty much #1 because the original members were together for 20 years, longer than any others I believe. And Brian & Roger still take the show on the road!
The 1985 concert was 8 years after its release on the News of the World album. When you listened in this review, that song was over 40 years old! Iconic indeed ... like so many of their other songs .... like the band themselves. Icons extraordinaire of the music world.
The best concert ever in the history of music! Glad you're finally checking out Queen & the King, Freddie Mercury. Competing with U2, The Who, Led Zeppelin at that time. P.S. You have a nice smile.
I grew up in the '70s and had the chance to see them in concert in '82. These were the bands that I grew up with. Back then we didn't think that hey 40 years from now this will be so iconic. It was just good rock'n roll. I am so glad that people today get to see this stuff. It's awesome hearing people say "I've heard that before" and whether it was in a movie or commercial. Good stuff.
I love your enthusiasm! We Are the Champions came out in 1977. It was always paired with We Will Rock You right before it (they played a verse of it right before this Live Aid clip that you just watched). I recommend you react to at least the studio version. Another ICONIC song!
That chorus I heard as a kid and would ALWAYS sing when I beat my friends at something..... I never realized how many songs Queen made that so many people know the chorus of but don't know who made it.
You've heard the song they do just before this one, "We will rock you". Watch this entire concert, and keep on your Queen journey. Love your reaction videos.
Please listen to everyone here: React to the entire 1985 Live Aid performance as they play a few other songs I know you will have heard. And also it's just 25 minutes of pure awesomeness. Plus Another One Bites the Dust (official video) and Under Pressure (Live at Wembley 1986). You will no doubt have heard those two songs as soon as you hear those bass lines. Vanilla Ice famously stole the bass line from Under Pressure for Ice Ice Baby and was famously sued by Queen and David Bowie (who co-wrote the song as well as recorded it with them). And that's just the beginning......
And it wssnt a queen concert. It was a charity concert with diffrent acts playing all day.Live Aid andBand aid was set up byBob Geldoff to reliece poverty and famime in Africa. Tickets were sold before Queen signed upto do the concert. Yet Freddie still had the crowd in the palm of his hand.My favourite band by far. Andmore than a rock band. They sang all kinds of diffrent genres.
Stay on the Queen train!! They are so versatile, talented and their live performances will kick your arse. Look forward to seeing you react to more. Gotta do the greatest 22 minute live performance at Live Aid and Somebody to Love..live Montreal.
Thissong is originally from the 1977 Queen Album NEWS OF THE WORLD, believe it or not...This Album came out and 1 week later it was sung at a soccer game here in Germany as they won.
How did I miss this Queen reaction of yours? Everybody knows this song. I was at a concert last Thursday and the band closed with this. The GenZers were singing right along with me and I'm old. :-)
Queen songs that are so iconic that everyone knows: We Will Rock You Bohemian Rhapsody Another One Bites the Dust We Are The Champions Crazy Thing Called Love
Not only that, over a billion people was watching world wide. Live Aid was 12 hour live fundraiser for famine relief in Africa. It was held in both London and Philadelphia with rock’s greatest legends performing. But Queen stole the show. When the band was back in their trailer right after their set, Elton John burst in there yelling with a grin, “ You bastards, stole the f-ing show!” ( incidentally, he was one of those who was on after them). The creators of Live Aid cite Queen being the reason why it was so successful. Freddie didn’t just have the stadium ‘s audience in the palm of his hand, but everyone watching on tv , too. ( note: the royal family was also in attendance,as well.) I would recommend watching their Bohemian Rhapsody video. Their videos and live performances are incredible. It’s sad that Freddie passed away so soon, but what a life and what a legacy. The band Queen is still performing. Original band members Roger Taylor and Brian May have joined with Adam Lambert. Together, they are doing great work. John Deacon, the bass guitarist, retired in the late 1990’s to a quiet, private life.
The thing you may not know is that the crowd there at that concert were not all Queen fans, They were all there for different bands at that charity gig but more Queen fans were made that day than anyone thought possible, I was there and I was already a Queen fan and I was blown away by the non Queen fans reactions to them everyone was at that moment was a Queen fan throughout their set, It’s a great memory to have.
pls react to Queens full live aid performance .PLs watch another on bites the dust, dont stop me now, we will rock you, i want to break free ,your my best friend, under pressure, crazy littlle thing called love and bohieman rhapsody are all from queen.pls watch on eof these songs music videos by queen. Some you might not know but once you have heard these songs you will know.Queen has so many hits
The whole world knew this song since 1977! 72,000 people were packed into Wembley Stadium that special day. In the UK, they are only 2nd to The Beatles when it comes to group record sales.
Check out Another One Bites The Dust(you've probably heard that one too). Not the music video, the live version. The one where it says Vevo in the thumbnail. Another you should check out is Under Pressure at Wembley. Bohemian Rhapsody too of course.
John: You're a legend Freddie. Freddie: We are all legends. Freddie never took full credit for their success. He knew he needed them as much as they needed him. Legendary!!
Greatest rock band ever is rather subjective. They are definitely in most people's top 10 at least. Don't forget, there was The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Blue Oyster Cult, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Kinks, etc. Having said that, I think they had the best singer in Freddie Mercury.
Okay, now you’ve heard the whole song “We are the Champions” lets go back to their biggest hit “Bohemian Rhapsody” this will blow your mind. Another song you’ve heard but don’t know who sang it. Looking forward to your reaction
Queen has a ton more of iconic songs with words and phrases that are part of the popular lexicon. As others have already said, you’re probably familiar with We Will Rock You and Another One Bites the Dust. Of course, they’re so beyond that. I personally believe they’re the best band ever, but their competition would be groups like the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Eagles, U2, and maybe a few others. But you’d be hard pressed to find a band as musically versatile and gifted as Queen. Freddie was certainly a big reason for that, but no one should overlook the other members of Queen. They were all major contributors to their success.
now to be ashamed a few more times :-) do: *we will rock you *bohemian rhapsody *another one bites the dust *radio gaga *under pressure *don´t stop me now ... and probably 40 more :-)
Two things: as iconic as this song is, the companion song (usually played just before We Are The Champions) is THE most iconic song in rock history! Yes, THAT, "We Will Rock You"!! Also, what you just watched was the final number of the greatest 20 minutes in modern music history!! As others have commented, you should watch the whole Live Aid set. There was over 70K in attendance at Whimbly that day, over 100K in attendance in Philadelphia, and over 1 Billion watching live on TV.
When it came to Queen live, all you ever got was a mile square blanket of people. You must react to the song "Queen Live Under Pressure 1987 Wembley" ...it's mind blowing.
Almost 100,000 people in the stadium. Another 1 billion people around the world watched. No internet, no streaming. It was announced that 95% of the TVs in the world saw the concerts.
Some of Queen's crowd sizes went upward of 200,000 people. The ticket prices then averaged $10-$15. Now we pay hundreds of dollars to hear sub-par acts. It's crazy.
FYI: #1 In 2009, "We Are the Champions" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and was voted the world's favourite song in a 2005 Sony Ericsson world music poll. In 2011, a team of scientific researchers concluded that the song was the catchiest in the history of popular music. [wikipedia] #2 live aid was not a queen´s concert....it took 16 hours and plenty of bands participated....every band had just 20 minutes to perform...
I’m gonna make a little suggestion. If someone recommends a live version of a song that you’ve never heard, listen to the studio version of the song first. And yes, this song is iconic because every single sport plays this song after a championship. What’s funny is that Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes, to which you should do a reaction, is another song that is played during any game. Also, this concert was amazing. I still have it on VHS at my parents’ house. I was 14 when it aired and I don’t think I got any sleep. Sting, U2, Phil Collins, Queen, Madonna, you name it. Like everyone has said, watch Queen’s entire Live Aid performance. Absolutely amazing!
Queen fans are like a cult in the most positive way. Freddie was total GUILTY PLEASURE on stage. I was a fan from the beginning. Thanks for sharing to your generation and my children's.
Greatest...... It would have to be Queen because today I have heard 4 commercials on tv of maybe just a guitar riff that is Queen songs. They wrote the chant WE WILL ROCK YOU! All sports, games.....We ARE THE CHAMPIONS. I love other bands but to be so mainstream today where you know the song...since 1975..... Has to be QUEEN.
Yeah, I suppose they can compete with The Beatles. And yes, as many people advice here, watch the full performance Queen at Live Aid '85. All of their best hits were there!
Google the impact that both Queen and David Bowie have had on culture! My two greatest are Queen and David Bowie!! You can't compare them because they're just different, but both in a league of their own- and at the top!
Great reaction!! Wait 'till you figure out they also wrote "We will rock you," "Another One Bites the Dust," and "Under Pressure" All songs know and sung by the masses. These are but the tip of the iceberg "my friend"!!!!! Keep on rockin' and we'll keep on watchin' 🎸🎸😎😎🤘🤘
Check out "We Will Rock You" that is another Queen song that I can almost guarantee it's caught your ear even if you never knew who did it. It is one of those Iconic Songs you're talking about.
Speaking of Queen' and of them making a song that everyone knows. Check out, and react to "We will rock you" by none other than Queen. Iconic is right. Rock on, and on, and on.
Great analysis. Thanks. They would be competing against The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Rolling Stones, The Who, Aerosmith, U2, Van Halen, Rush and several others In my opinion they are at least top 3. When they were big in the 70s and 80s I would not have had them that high but as you point out so astutely, their songs just continue to stand the test of time while some other bands, who I thought were great back then, have faded into the background.
I hope people realize that this song is partly "neener" So "We are the champions" is a form of neener-neener, which makes the song the more amazing (such an epic rock track based on child's play). Do the neener-song in your head, you'll know what I mean.
Uuummmh.... someone who made a song as iconic as Queen's lead singer Freddie Mercury's "We are the champions"? Let me think........
I know!:
-Queen's guitar player Brian May's "We will rock you"
-Queen's drum player Roger Taylor's "Radio Ga Ga"
-Queen's bass player John Deacon's "Another one bites the dust"
And you know all of them :)
This wasn't even a Queen concert. It was a charity event that multiple artists performed at. Queen stole the show!
That might not have been a Queen crowd when they walked in, but they were a Queen crowd when they walked out.
@@srae1971 ↑ This.
They contributed the highest donations.
Queen has been performing mostly on stadium concert. All over the world.
srae1971 They were a Queen crowd, make no mistake...
You should watch the whole Live Aid performance. It's considered one of the best rock performances in music history. Not just in rock but overall, I think.
Yes please react to the full live aid Performance 😍😍😍
Their Live Aid Performance was not only seen by the 70 + thousand people there, but by an estimated 1 billion worldwide. QUEENS performance for the charity raised millions for famine relief in Africa.
Definitely
agree the whole Queen Live Aid performance!
Agreed. Freddie Mercury had hundreds of thousands of people eating out of the palm of his hand at that moment.
You' re absolutly right it is one of the most iconic songs ever written. And i always loved the fact that this iconic song, loved and sung by straight sport fans in every football or soccer stadium around the world was created by the most beautiful, badass, queer guy who ever graced this planet. Truth!

Elton John was next and called them bastards, saying, "How am I supposed to follow that"?

I love when people realize they know Queen's songs! 💜

They were the best rock group ever, with the greatest frontman any band will ever have, Freddie forever 😍
Queens performance was by far the best of live aid!!25+ minutes of the best of Queen!!So thankful I can say these are artists from my era!!!
Sung in 1985 at the Live Aid Concert. Created and recorded in 1976 for the 1977 release of the News of The World album. Listen to that crowd!! Queen out performed everyone on the stage that day. even tho Freddie Mercury was sick he still brought it home!!
Queen competes with NO ONE for greatest rock band. They are it. You know their songs, you just don't know it. THAT'S how good they are.
yes, if you watch the whole concert, you will see Freddie taking control of the whole audience and it is so awesome!
+1 billion world wide. Still have some of the originals on tape, will never sell them and if my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren try to sell them after I'm gone, I'll come back and haunt the hell out of them. 4 generations that love QUEEN!!!!!!!!
"We Are the Champions" is a song by the British rock band Queen, first released on their 1977 album News of the World.
All of the members of Queen can sing AMAZING. RIP FREDDIE... one of a kind
Pls watch the full live aid performance by queen.Queen is a legend and trust me they have done more iconic songs like we will rock you, another one bites the dust, I want to break free and so many other hits that once you hear it you will know it
That's the power of Queen.

True..
Thats why Queen band and Freddie Mercury is one of a kind..
It's nice to see someone hear the whole song by the original artist when they've heard snippets forever.
Look at the crowd in that soccer stadium. Shows you how popular Queen was.
The BEST
And still is
The 1985 concert was 8 years after its release on the News of the World album. When you listened in this review, that song was over 40 years old! Iconic indeed ... like so many of their other songs .... like the band themselves. Icons extraordinaire of the music world.

Oh, and you know it started with "We will Rock you" - which goes STRAIGHT into this song... TWO iconic songs.. together...
Somebody to Love live in Montreal 81 will blow your mind. One of if not the best male vocalists of all time.
CMDR Richard Feynman He already did. It was his Queen baptism.
How did I miss this Queen reaction of yours? Everybody knows this song. I was at a concert last Thursday and the band closed with this. The GenZers were singing right along with me and I'm old. :-)
Queen songs that are so iconic that everyone knows:
We Will Rock You
Bohemian Rhapsody
Another One Bites the Dust
We Are The Champions
Crazy Thing Called Love
It’s really crazy how many hits queen actually had. There have been some amazing hits that I didn’t even know were by them
Same with "We Will Rock You"
These songs were written between 1974- 1976
Not only that, over a billion people was watching world wide. Live Aid was 12 hour live fundraiser for famine relief in Africa. They released the song on 45 format. Believe it or not they had " we will rock you " on the A side. Another iconic song.
You should watch Bohemian rhapsody trailer and then the movie it’s already in theaters and a great movie about Queen
Definetly
The whole world knew this song since 1977! 72,000 people were packed into Wembley Stadium that special day. In the UK, they are only 2nd to The Beatles when it comes to group record sales.
Check out Another One Bites The Dust(you've probably heard that one too). Not the music video, the live version. The one where it says Vevo in the thumbnail. Another you should check out is Under Pressure at Wembley. Bohemian Rhapsody too of course.
Yes this video is so awesome
pls react to Dont stop me now by queen and another one bites the dust by queen
YES! That is one of my favorite Queen songs. I loved that they played it at the end of Boh Rhap!
Another one bites the dust!
Great queen song. You have heard it sampled many times.
John: You're a legend Freddie.
Freddie: We are all legends.
Freddie never took full credit for their success. He knew he needed them as much as they needed him. Legendary!!

A Kind Of Magic springs to mind.
Best frontman ever ♥️♥️♥️
He's an Indian Freddie pride of India
Two things: as iconic as this song is, the companion song (usually played just before We Are The Champions) is THE most iconic song in rock history! Yes, THAT, "We Will Rock You"!!

Almost 100,000 people in the stadium. Another 1 billion people around the world watched. No internet, no streaming. It was announced that 95% of the TVs in the world saw the concerts.
Bohemian Rhapsody will blow your mind on the vocal talent this band had alone....lyrically this is Master Iconic stuff. ENJOY
20 minutes that changed rock and roll forever.
Some of Queen's crowd sizes went upward of 200,000 people. The ticket prices then averaged $10-$15.
Now we pay hundreds of dollars to hear sub-par acts. It's crazy.
You've got such a great spirit. A pleasure to see your reactions.
[wikipedia]
#2 live aid was not a queen´s concert....it took 16 hours and plenty of bands participated....every band had just 20 minutes to perform...
Live aid was a charity with many many big acts but Queen stole the show and this consider the greatest live performance ever!
To the best of my memory the audience in Wembley Stadium was 180,000. That was just inside the Stadium, there were a hell of a lot more outside.
They wrote the chant
WE WILL ROCK YOU!
If you want to put the time in, seek out their Wembley Stadium concert. If nothing else, "Is This The World We Created" will bring tears to your eyes.
They have written a few world iconic songs.
This is the literally "Not Afraid" in Rock history..
Keep doing more Queen. You will not be disappointed.
There were an estimated 72,000 people at Wembley Stadium for Live Aid.
PLEASE. you HAVE to watch the FULL video of Queen at Live Aid. It is considered to be one of the greatest rock performances of all time.
Pls react to another one bites the dust music video and Bohemian rhapsody music video
The day Queen ruled the world!
If you think We are the champions was great ......... enjoy the journey!!!
Ohh they also made the song “we will rock you” fyi.✌️
Freddie Mercury wrote the lyrics and the melody to this song. Each member wrote their own songs. Queen did not use outside songwriters.
You won't believe how many queen songs you will know try we will rock you next .
That was over 73,000 people in that stadium, for 23 minutes he commanded the world at his hand
Great analysis. Thanks.
They would be competing against The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Rolling Stones, The Who, Aerosmith, U2, Van Halen, Rush and several others
In my opinion they are at least top 3. When they were big in the 70s and 80s I would not have had them that high but as you point out so astutely, their songs just continue to stand the test of time while some other bands, who I thought were great back then, have faded into the background.
bohemian rhapsody by queen
I can't believe he has not reacted to that one!
Freddie lives forever
I hope people realize that this song is partly "neener"
So "We are the champions" is a form of neener-neener, which makes the song the more amazing (such an epic rock track based on child's play).
Do the neener-song in your head, you'll know what I mean.
