The several hundred years old Kingdom was briefly overran by the Nepalese in the 17th century and the then Choyal fled the country and ask the Qing dynasty of China for help. The Qianlong emperor sent an expedition to drive out the Nepalese and restored the kingdom's independence. Sikkim was left unmolested until 1975 when India invaded and annexed the tiny kingdom and kept the Choyal in house arrest for the rest of his live. His American wife queen Hope Cooke fled Sikkim and returned back to the United States. Queen Hope Cooke is still alive and live in New York.

Most tibetan cultural monks and nuns are not following this buddhist rules.bad buddhist culture was born in potala lhasa.buddha said if you don't have any food to eat then you can eat meat.
