A little bit of deep background on the members:
Jurin: turned professional snowboarder at the age of 12
Harvey: half-japanese, half-australian, was an in-demand and very popular runway model by the age of 14
Chisa: former child actress
Juria: former member of children girl group
Maya & Cocona: best friends since grade school, always dreamed of debuting together
Hinata: half-japanese, half-korean, talented visual artist (at some point you will see the painting she did for Simon's birthday, it is breathtaking
Simon: aka JAKOPS, CEO of XGALX, producer of most their songs, but really a dad to all the members as he has raised them and trained them since early in their lives!

Welcome back and thanks for your second XG reaction.
Tape and Vox first would likely have been better for a feeling of the individual members, but whatever works.
There are some additional things to wrap up:
- Hesonoo & X-Gene performance video; these are actually the first two short intro tracks of the New DNA mini album, which are then followed by Girl Gang, TGIF, New Dance and Puppet Show. Hesonoo & X-Gene set the stage for the XG lore, basically that they are not from this world but aliens on a visit. Girl Gang then shows their arrival on Earth, TGIF is a flashback to their homeworld, New Dance lets them explore Earth by learning ... a new dance; Puppet Show then shows their transcendence. It's slightly confusing, because H&X was released after the others, but this is a MUST WATCH.
- GRL GVNG (Girl Gang) is actually longer than the MV, you should react to the full song also; three available options: Lyrics video, or Dance Practice, or the special version they did in sign language after learning that they have fans that are deaf.
- Winter Without You and Shooting Star have live vocals version, both each on The First Take and, with live orchestra, on It's Live!
- Show You Can, is a rap track from Cocona and Maya written for the TV show Street Women fighter; only Lyrics video available, but worth it. Our girls also have offically writing credit for this one.
Maya is special. You could say, XG has 3 rappers, 3 singers and a Maya.
Oh, and first lesson with XG - they never do what you expect, they surprise us every time with something new.

The way I view it is they’re a bunch of aces who can sing dance and rap. But the official rappers are Jurin Coco Harvey and Maya, vocals Chisa Juria Hinata and Maya. So I call Maya like the connector between the rap line and the vocal line.

The creature at the end of GRL GVNG is a Giant Mecha Wolf symbolizing their fandom ALPHAZ.
ALPHAZ because the Leader of a pack of wolves is known as the Alpha.
Harvey is Japanese/Australian, she was born in Japan but her dad is Australian.
Hinata was born in Japan but her grandparents are Korean.
Ahh, that makes sense after I did a quick google run to search what is a mecha wolf. Anime is still mostly uncharted territory for me. Thank you so much for these details, like the fandom name. I just thought since their music portrays strong and independent themes, that’s why they named their fandom alphas.
Thank you for reacting to XG Xpop Group and every member I feel is an “Ace”. These Xtraordinary Girls were meticulously selected by the Executive Producer, Simon “Jakops”. Simon collaborated with an artist who had never worked on an MV before…this was five years ago…prior to debut. 🤯🙆🏻♀️ Simon is a genius and total visionary of this Japanese Global Girl Group. In “Girl Gang” an Alpha wolf 🐺 is standing in the background on a hill…at the end the Alphaz because Enormous…signifying that the 🐺🙆🏻♀️🥰 are backing up XG. I love 💗 the versatility of every XG Song. I first became a fan after I watched their first Dance Performance Move 1#…I believed they were an Incredible Dance Crew. The “New Dance” MV was filmed in beautiful Osaka, Japan. MAYA and COCONA are XG’s “Secret Weapon”….yes the other Amazing members are exceptional in their key part of each Song. The Vox Line is Top 🔝 Level and the RAP Line is SCARY… their Choreography 10/10. I hope you realized that their entire concept is Alien 👽 🧬 has arrived on the planet. Just watched the girl gang video again and I just noticed the image of the wolf on the hill and knowing the symbolism really helps. I found the ending image disturbing at first but now I find it cool, knowing what it represents. I also found the mv even more interesting looking at it from the perspective of aliens arriving earth.
New Dance MV was filmed in Okinawa, not Osaka. But nice explanation, ALPHAZ! 🐺👍
There are 2 live versions of Winter Without You. "The First Take" and "It's Live" XG is in a league of their own. No one out there is doing it old skool like them. Shooting Star was SOTY #1 on a few big reactors 2023 top 100 list (also my SOTY). You really need to watch their legendary viral cypher "XG TAPE #2 GALZ XYPHER" that blows everyone's mind. XG's rapline can spit like some Gs. They just devour in that one

Since you asked for more information on their roles within the group...it's complicated but I'll try my best.
Chisa (Sub-Leader, Main Vocalist), Hinata (Sub-Vocalist, "some say Main Dancer", Juria (Main Vocalist).
Jurin (Leader, Main Dancer, Rapper), Harvey (Rapper), Maya (Rapper, Lead Vocalist), Cocona (Maknae "Youngest", Main Rapper).
Hinata as a main dancer, interesting. I noticed she can really move when I was rewatching the move 1, 3 & 4 videos but then all of them can really dance.
@@CantbemiiReacts Well if we are being honest all of them are Main Dancer material if they were in any other group. Some would say Cocona is a Main Dancer along with Jurin.

@@CantbemiiReacts Hinata is basically the bridge between the two vocalists which are chisa and juria, she enhances them the same way Harvey is the bridge between the rappers which are mainly Cocona and Maya , that’s why u probably don’t see much of them getting a whole lot of lines which is unfortunate, especially Hinata. But they all shine and add a lot to the group and play key roles !

They are the best dancers but Harvey is also an amazing dancer just like Maya. The “worse” dance I guess is Chisa and still she is amazing. But yeah the dancers dancers , those who could do a freestyle battle would be Coco and Jurin and Maya
PuppetShow opened a various discussions and opinions. Someone loved the song and someone weren't pleased. But the message is actually what would happen if the genders were reversed but they used the most basic example "romantic relationship".
Maya: ".. act like he don't what I'm worth" basically SHE was ignored.
Hinata: "We spend a lot of time talking, but it feels like I'm never heard"
In this scenario looks like the couple are fighting/arguing. When the Man don't listen to the Woman's thoughts and don't care on her feelings at all.
Harvey: "Listen to what comes out my mouth.. before you take me out"
There's a double meaning on "before u take me out".. either "take me out on a date" or "take me out/dump me".
Jurin: ".. this ain't up for debating, boy stop playing before we/it goes a different route"
Basically saying "we don't have to argue, I just want u to listen to me before we end this relationship" something like that.
So it revolves around that scenario.
It's a what if you were in my position. Not being heard and not being understood by your partner. What would u feel?.
The beauty of this song is that. It can interpret not just in a relationship but in general.. If someone is controlling you, would you like that?
It's an art to be honest.
While the MV telling a story about themselves "XG". Being able to break boundaries in music industry.
That’s what I like about all forms of art. It’s subject to perception. It’s really how you see the piece of work. I can understand why some people might not like the theme but I personally have no problem with it. I also love your take on the lyrics and I think it’s accurate. I like it when a song evokes all kinds of emotions and this song does that, together with the music video. I like it. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
@@CantbemiiReacts I agree with you. There's always a symbol or meaning in XG's music videos. That's what I like about their production team. Just like in PuppetShow. Notice that Chisa (the first girl who appeared) wears a wedding veil. Some tradition that if you reach a certain age, you have to get married.
Harvey with Bloody vampire grills and Jurin with sharp teeth grills. Some people think that women's words are sharp and could cut through their egos.
The balloons and colors. Everything has a meaning.
I really love this song. Cause it's like an oasis for those women/people in general who are tied with rules and couldn't express their thoughts or do what they want.

Yeah this aint no feminist song, the “gender” stuff is just because this type of “empowering lyrics” are trendy now, that’s it. They’re aliens, thats the whole underlying meaning of the looks.
And yes there’s a certain age to get married: usually around 27 or 28 , sometimes earlier depends on the country.
Puppet Show, there is really a lot of symbolism going on in this music video (and seems to be a bit separated from the lyrics, but actually it is not). All kudos to @exScythed who put this together first to my knowledge, I'm just reiterating.
- First, take note that our girls start all separated and alone. They were lowered into Buddhist Hell by the thread of a spider (the starting scene with Chisa hanging in the air represents this). The figures you see in the very beginning are wearing traditional Buddhist headdresses. XG girls are surrounded by spirits who are caught in a cycle of reincarnation that never ends. (In Buddhism the “spider’s thread” is a reference to how Buddha took the thread of a spider in Heaven and lowered it down to Hell so that a criminal can climb up from Hell to Paradise. Therefore the thread of a spider is a symbol of slight hope aka a silver lining and of fragility. In the story it’s stated that the thread descended through “many layers of sky and clouds.”)
- The XG girls look on sadly as many spirits attempt to reach Paradise and fail, exploding into nothingness (Chisa looking down from her perch represents this.)
- Even though the XG girls are hailed as goddesses by the other spirits (represented by the way the other spirits bow to them) they realize they still can’t reach Paradise alone aka achieve enlightenment.
- This changes when the XG girls find each other, realizing that their meeting was fate in order for them to reach Paradise together (they are tied together by the “red string of fate” and “hesonoo” is Japanese for umbilical chord.) This is represented four times in the video and twice in the chorus of the song;
When Juria is running to help a spirit and meets Hinata there’s a close up of her eye where we see her having a vision of an explosion,
when Harvey (who has black teeth which in Japan was a common practice amongst women because it represents a “woman with virtues”) meets Jurin,
when the XG girls rap/dance together as a group with the drums,
and when a wayward spirit’s failure to achieve enlightenment causes an explosion which knocks everyone down leaving only XG standing strong.
- There are also some fourth wall breaks (first Hinata, later Jurin) showing that they’ve broken away from the circle the spirits are stuck walking in. They know the Truth aka achieved enlightenment and look directly at us - they know we are watching them.
Also, it is only in the later two choruses the girls adlib together. The first chorus, when they haven’t "officially" met in the video yet, has none.
- Before XG goes, they bless one of the spirits who is heavily implied to be pregnant with a girl (the moon is associated with womanhood ... please don't ask how a spirit in hell gets pregnant) and has earned the right to be reincarnated properly.
- The XG girls take a literal leap of faith together and successfully reach Paradise, symbolized by their new, white outfits.
Now, according to something that Simon has hinted at - the lyrics actually are a criticism of the puppet masters in the music industry that control the artists. If you look at it this way, then the symbolism makes sense: the girls find each other and stand united, and together they can overcome the industry and achieve their independence.

I recognized that the video was very symbolic but I failed to understand most of it but now armed with this new information, I’m sure I will gain new insight when I watch the video again. I especially like the info about Harvey’s teeth. I thought it was a makeup choice, one which I didn’t like but now I have a new perspective on that. It's actually a red grill that has blood dripping down, it's just that they made the grill dark red, almost black.

maya tends to do both
Good rule of thumb to avoid mixing Juria and Chisa up:
Chisa has cheekbones and a strong jaw and pretty much always has her hair parted down the middle.
Juria has a squishy little babyface and usually has bangs (since mascara at least)
Juria also has a much brighter vocal tone compared to Chisa's.
I feel like its super common for people to mix them up early on because they're both the main vocals but once you figure out their faces its almost impossible to mix them up.
Actually you seemed to be getting them straight by the end of the video so apologies if none of this was needed. Either way, can't wait for you to get deeper into the rabbit hole, tape and vox are gonna blow your mind.
When i 1st watch their peaches i got them wrong just bcs i felt like this name suits better on this 1, and this 1 suits the other one lol😂
@@citizenshoop No, this is still very helpful going forward. Funny, when I was editing the video I could tell them apart easily but when I’m in the moment I mix them up. I can’t wait to really get into the tape and vox videos, not just because it’s new content from them but because I feel it will show their individual colors more and I can learn more about the members. Thanks for the details. I don’t know why I kept mixing them up. When I was editing I kept facepalming myself every time I say the wrong name cuz I could clearly tell them apart. I think I can recognize their voices though but I’m not a 100% sure 😆
