As a Dutchman I was rooting so hard for you guys in the group-stage. Such a shame it had to come to this. Can’t wait for the match and may the best team win! 🇳🇱🇺🇸
Iranian here! Just wanna confirm that the US absolutely deserved the qualification. I haven't got much of the two previous matches to watch, but the stats and highlights screamed their determination to prove all the doubters wrong, and I'm so glad the more worthy team got what it deserved. The squad has truly buried the tragedy of 2018's qualifications behind the quality they have now. May they continue rocking on in the knockouts!
They played against horrible teams. Wales is by far the weakest Euro team and Iran was so weak. I really thought in 2014 Iran would get better. But this was a disaster. In the first game I thought they were boycotting the WC bc they lost 6-2 to England. Then against Wales they seemed to care. It was an easy group overall and nothing surprising to have made it out
What a statement by the US ahead of 2026. I like how the US's young squad seemed to learn from their mistakes relatively quickly. When they started their world cup campaign against Wales, they were nervous, made some silly mistakes and conceded a stupid goal that a more mature team would not have conceded. But in the second match day, they faced a team far stronger than Wales, England. And they looked confident, didn't make mistakes, had some decent chances. Eventually, the US did what they had to by beating Iran and advancing to the round of 16. I have a lot of belief for this team going into 2026 because unlike Mexico they seem like a complete unit that should just improve instead of completely rebuilding itself and unlike Canada, the US actually delivered results. Very good performance for sure and considering how underwhelming the Netherlands have been, there's a possibility, a little one but for the US to make it to the Quarter-finals
I'd say USA has a 40 percent chance to advance. Like England, Netherlands seem pretty one-dimensional, and I think USA could really frustrate them. As we know, if it goes to penalties then it is 50/50.

I agree with you on Gregg's sub killing the game, especially Shaq Moore who I never want to see again at this world cup. But Walker Zimmerman was actual a good sub. He won 5/6 headers as Iran tried to play more direct and had a huge clearance off the line.
As a longtime Mexican this is pretty exciting, the rivalry will always be there so honestly I hate losing to y’all, but finally having a good team with good tactics to play regularly is nice. The USA and Canada are only gonna challenge us more and more with time, and it might force our federation to get their act together and keep us at pace with the rest of the continent.

@@sohigamer141 In fairness with England they weren't playing the best, probably weren't even trying to win. USA are a good team with potential to be great, you're gonna beat the Netherlands imo, but after that it's most likely over.
@@lorenzovalencia6816 No, they very clearly were playing for a draw. Southgate loves that tactic to not exhaust his players, he does it all the time. Unless you seriously think England played at the same level they did when they beat Germany at the Euros. Or even Iran and Wales. Hell, he subbed on Jordan Henderson ffs, you don't put him on if you're tryna score goals.
Being from Australia Us making it out has to be my favourite moment as a fan being touted as the worst country in the tournament to getting to RO16. While we were shite your vids kept me believing hope the US do alright!
I get what you mean about the whole country start caring when we’re in the World Cup. no one talked about soccer but now as soon as we’re in everyone’s watching it and the teachers are stopping class and putting it on the board
First person that I remembered when the USMNT passed through the group stage was you man. You were so poignant in your videos that Greg Behalter was doing a terrible job that i've got surprised by USA's solid defensive system, one of the best of the tournament. Ok that the team is not so good in attacking skills (so much individual talent without a solid teamwork among the good players), but like they say, good strikers win games, but good defenses win championships, mostly the short ones like the WC. Now I am cheering for the US aginst Netherlands, as Van Gall is doing a very poor job and was very lucky in his clashes agains Senegal and Ecuador. I bet it will a 0x0 and US goes through by penalty shootout. Greetings from Brazil, hope you get Argentina out too.
We have seen masterclasses in Adams defensively in the midfield and Robinson running up and down the left side of the field be able to give the usa complete control of matches transitioning us to our offensive freedom, however, It feels that our offense runs way too much through pulisic and Weston, once teams get familiar with pulisic and then weston gtes subbed off our game falls flat with no team creativity. Wales did an amazing job at neutralizing their threat in the 2nd half and you saw it come to fruition earlier, vs Iran, since pulisic didn't even join the team coming out of the tunnel, and with him off Timothy weah was given too much freedom in terms that he didn't even know what to do with the ball at times, while Haji wright has looked so bland as well... we have another extremely talented player sitting on the bench in gio reyna, why gregg???. Just a few exciting thoughts that coach still has time to answer, been having a lot of fun despite the of couple heart attacks vs Iran/England. Can't wait to watch this team pogress
As someone from the Netherlands. The team's tempo is so slow. We have a few creative footballers but when they score, they will try to maintain the 1-0 lead and if they don't maintain it they lose all momentum like they did against Ecuador.
The USA reached the stage it was supposed to reach, and now they'll booted out of the tournament by the superior squad of the Netherlands. The surprise and "growth" would only be true if they defeat the Dutch.
Imagine if soccer/football were the top sport in the US from the beginning (late 1800s) and the US had a proper soccer/football culture like basically every other country in the world. The US would have won multiple World Cups by now
USA teams of the past seemed to do a hobby when they played. This version seems to actually love the sport and wants to win. I believe this difference in mentality is a huge difference in the results they're getting. Not a lot of talent in this team but a lot of passion. They're fun to watch. They do have their issues but overall a very pleasant surprise in the world cup. Wish they continue with that kind of mentality. That being said I'd say their path is over. Barkley cursed them and they're playing against us next . Van gaal has some lessons to deliver to newcomers on this level.
The US teams of the past have always played well against the big teams and have won. The USMNT has too much talent. It’s always going to come down to tactics and can they do it for 90 minutes. This Dutch team is not the same team of the early 2000’s and they have been underwhelming in the group stage so far. The US will make it real difficult for them and can possibly win.
Oh no you saw the Barklet clip? Omg 😡 yeah we don't like him, even NBA fans don't like him. He never won the league because of his dismissive, arrogant attitude, overestimating himself and underestimating his opponents. Michael Jordan put him in his place back in the day, but clearly was not able to team him humility...we apologize for that idiot. It must be said that he and his fellow pundits are not football pundits, they are the mainstream pundits that haven't included football yet. We have a separate team of specialists for that (ESPN FC, and Futbol Americas)
7:33 technically speaking, the team mentality has been there since the last time we qualified in 2014. It was between 2016 and 2020 when we were lacking everything, especially the drive to win, and hence having to play knockout qualifiers before losing to Trinidad.
The fact the U.S may be the only concacaf team qualifying to the next stage really shows how much we underperformed in the qualifying round, we really finished 3rd behind Mexico and Canada, with both teams being eliminated in the group stages. If the USMNT can give us a decent showing against Holland despite the more possible elimination, we can really look forward to 2026.
To be fair Canada had a tougher group considering their status and Mexico was already in bad form before the tournament began. I think the U.S has competed well with teams punching about the same weight, except for England which was overly speculative when both teams played. I’d say the team has a legit shot at beating Netherlands, but many seem to be taking a win for granted already which is a huge overestimation at this point.
@@lorenzovalencia6816 Belgium is overrated indeed, but there were a goal away from making it thru the first round. If we apply the same we could argue Wales is worse than Belgium and Iran is not special either. My point is that the US performed as expected with teams on their level while Canada was competing with at least two other teams that have a proven record, even if overrated, compared to the teams US faced except for England of course
Please just leave Shaq Moore on the bench vs the Dutch Greg, we're probably fucked anyways but every time the ball comes to him I panic inside waiting to see how he'll turn it over this time
Daily reminder that the "Ginger Pele" is from St. Louis, meaning that every USMNT to make the World Cup has had at least one player from the Greater STL area on the roster.
The sense of togheterness you get from club football depends a lot on what team you support: if you're in Italy or Germany and you support your city's club, 99% of the time (that 1% is fraudentus) you would DIE for your club, and the atmosphere in the stadium is incredible, really making you feel like the 12th player. If you're far from the team you support (or you only support a winning team like a spoiled child) it's hard to get the same emotions
English fans are try hards too, but having so many teams from london kind of lessens the overall try hardness in my opinion. Don't get me wrong englishmen and women, i absolutely love you
No matter what happens Saturday I’m proud of this US team and can’t help but look forward to 2026 when all of these young players get even better (hopefully). Whether it be because of Berhalter or watching your videos I wasn’t sure the US would get out of the group, but they were composed in every facet, with Ream and Zimmerman/CCV being rocks in the back outside the one penalty against Wales. Finishing could use work, perhaps Gio Reyna, but no matter what I can’t help but be excited for the future of US Men’s Soccer! USA! USA! 🇺🇸!
Tbh I only see gio Reyna, adams, aaronson, and maybe turner becoming decent and good players for good teams. The rest of them will be shut out especially pulisic. By age 27 most of them will be in MLS or a low level European apart from the players I listed.
@@GhostofMiami Not every player will pan out sure, but they have many young players still coming through the ranks (Pepi, Pefok, Scally) and this 2022 squad has already made major progress. There are more reasons to be excited for the future than not, I recommend you think more optimistically.
As an Englishman, I'm happy seeing the USA go through, because that way it keeps you guys watching a sport WE invented, and at the same time I want to see how this US team performs against top European competition, and if you manage to beat the Netherlands, unlikely, then you'll have to face the best Argentina side in years. Either way you have a seriously tough path ahead of you.
Damn impressed me as a european (german) again, The us are out of the group And secondly, Tyler Adam’s answer made me honestly tear up a little 10/10 bros
As a Dutchman. I can agree that we play very underwhelming and hope we play better next Saturday for a great match against the USA! Good luck to both teams
It was that midfield for me that took control of the England game, essentially cut off the England defence from attack and we had to resort to 50/50 long balls over the top for most of the game. What happens when we play with an actually established midfield, 3-0 against Wales with 18 shots on goal. I’m glad your USA team could shed a light of the ultimate fraud that is Gareth Southgate.
Iranian here. USA team played perfectly. I was really impressed by the stamina and balance of your midfield line. McKenie was good. Adams to me was a failed wonderkid but he proved me wrong. But your best outfield player in general was Yunus Musah. I have followed his games in Valencia but for the national team, he was like Kante '17
And aside them, I believe Tim Weah will be the greatest american winger in history. There's just lots of potential. And also Anthony Robinson was a literal war machine playing at a left back. No one in Iran team could neutralize him
not gonna lie, I was pleasantly surprised with the USMNT. I don't really follow concacaf qualifiers beside your videos and genuinely believed that you would be trash because of your coach. It would be cool for you to have a great tournament before hosting the WC in 2026, it would probably help the sport to gain momentum as a fan favorite. Here where I'm from (Brazil) the atmosphere is always crazy around WC and it is something that I think every football fan should be able to experience in regards of their own NT. Hope you advance to quarterfinals and maybe beat Argentina for us.
Taking off Dest and McKennie was the right move. Remember they are both on yellow cards and getting another one would meant they would miss the next match. So it becomes a roll of the dice for triple G, take them off and risk a weaker defense for 20 minutes, or leave them on a risk losing them for the next match. I personally would rather play Iran for 20 minutes w/o those 2 then play The Netherlands for 90 minutes w/o those 2. Not the players that were brought on for them (specially Moore) was the wrong choice, but I don't disagree with taking them off.

Before this, people were saying the USA will loose all three group stage matches and will get trashed by England 7-0.Now ya haters are up with these arguments. You haters will never appreciate a team no matter what.
Netherlands aren't as good as you think
@@sohigamer141 In fairness with England they weren't playing the best, probably weren't even trying to win. USA are a good team with potential to be great, you're gonna beat the Netherlands imo, but after that it's most likely over.
@@hunterhorsehelmsley7315They where trying to win, every team trys to win. Stupid argument
As a Mexican I’m sad that we are out but I’ll support the US to as far as they get
Being from Australia
Us making it out has to be my favourite moment as a fan being touted as the worst country in the tournament to getting to RO16. While we were shite your vids kept me believing hope the US do alright!
9:02 Nahhhhhhhhh I see what you did there 💀
I'm Argentinean, i hope you beat Holland so we can get you after that. *Proceeds to lose to Australia*
There was a Segino Dest Taco Bell commercial but then I realized it was Pete Davidson
I'm English and the US team did very well, you've got a good squad and can make it far.
Tyler Adams proper lad. Classy on and off the pitch.
Tons of respect for the man! He was balling out Tuesday as well!
@@lordfizzz And he is only 23.
As someone from the Netherlands. The team's tempo is so slow. We have a few creative footballers but when they score, they will try to maintain the 1-0 lead and if they don't maintain it they lose all momentum like they did against Ecuador.
Tyler Adams is an amazing leader for the USMNT 🇺🇸
WHAT THE F*** IS A KILOMETERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Bruh they just got eliminated
The USA reached the stage it was supposed to reach, and now they'll booted out of the tournament by the superior squad of the Netherlands. The surprise and "growth" would only be true if they defeat the Dutch.
I disagree with you, I think the questions to Adams were inappropriate and shouldn’t be asked even from US media.
I don't use ig much but I followed you, ngl I didn't see the usa getting out this group you've deserved it
Imagine if soccer/football were the top sport in the US from the beginning (late 1800s) and the US had a proper soccer/football culture like basically every other country in the world. The US would have won multiple World Cups by now
As an iranian im happy for usa they 100% deserved it.
Free iran
Women life freedom
Maqwell as an Australian I demand a 30 minute apolgy video for your predictions.
It was definitely the hopium🤣
Great video tho. I like your content a lot
You can’t use the nickname the ginger Pele, that’s reserved for the one and only James Collins
@@LexWil7wouldn't call Morocco Belgium and Croatia a vastly harder group
@@lorenzovalencia6816 why not?
@@LexWil7 Belgium is vastly overrated, and Croatias superstars are older and morocco wasn't anything special (atleast pre WC)
At least you're honest. And you're wrong in the right way. 🤣 Good luck to the USMNT in the knockout stage. 😊
Who’s here after morroco top group F
👇
Please just leave Shaq Moore on the bench vs the Dutch Greg, we're probably fucked anyways but every time the ball comes to him I panic inside waiting to see how he'll turn it over this time
Until America treats International Football as a top tier sport we won't be a threat at a World Cup.
CCV immense at the back, hope ya'll beat the dutch next!
didn‘t happen buddy
Can fully see USA beating the Dutch 😂 (England fan)
Both "Soccer" teams (USA and Australia) made it through
Daily reminder that the "Ginger Pele" is from St. Louis, meaning that every USMNT to make the World Cup has had at least one player from the Greater STL area on the roster.
Respect for Adams
The sense of togheterness you get from club football depends a lot on what team you support: if you're in Italy or Germany and you support your city's club, 99% of the time (that 1% is fraudentus) you would DIE for your club, and the atmosphere in the stadium is incredible, really making you feel like the 12th player. If you're far from the team you support (or you only support a winning team like a spoiled child) it's hard to get the same emotions
English fans are try hards too, but having so many teams from london kind of lessens the overall try hardness in my opinion. Don't get me wrong englishmen and women, i absolutely love you
Adams, Mckennie, Robinson, & Dest have been pivitol to me and crucial for their roles and play!!
You are my only source on the World Cup. I’m watching this because the way you break it down. But I still don’t care much. Great videos man
As an Englishman, I'm happy seeing the USA go through, because that way it keeps you guys watching a sport WE invented, and at the same time I want to see how this US team performs against top European competition, and if you manage to beat the Netherlands, unlikely, then you'll have to face the best Argentina side in years. Either way you have a seriously tough path ahead of you.
Damn impressed me as a european (german) again,
The us are out of the group
And secondly, Tyler Adam’s answer made me honestly tear up a little 10/10 bros
First time I've heard him spoke what a guy!
Believe it or not, there were some "journalists" who said TA was being negligent and spreading systematic racism. What a load of bullshit
You are a humble man, brilliant
Maxwell, are you not gonna make a video about Vietnam beating Dortmund 😂😂that’s insane
with 2nd and third stringers substitutes of BVB? Not surprised at all.
We played our 3rd team lol
Iranian here. USA team played perfectly. I was really impressed by the stamina and balance of your midfield line. McKenie was good. Adams to me was a failed wonderkid but he proved me wrong. But your best outfield player in general was Yunus Musah. I have followed his games in Valencia but for the national team, he was like Kante '17
And aside them, I believe Tim Weah will be the greatest american winger in history. There's just lots of potential. And also Anthony Robinson was a literal war machine playing at a left back. No one in Iran team could neutralize him
one thing that was so cool was my entire school watching the Iran game and everyone going insane when we scored, it was so awesome
not gonna lie, I was pleasantly surprised with the USMNT.
Probably this journey will end after the match against the Netherlands, but still this is success that our team managed to qualify to round of 16.
No you definitely weren’t the fraud
This was Pulisic’s legacy game
