The Haka is the War Chant/Dance made famous by NZ All Blacks (Maori) - All NZ international teams perform the Haka when representing NZ. In Rugby (Union and League) The only teams that do the Haka (War Dance) are the Pacific Nations NZ (Maori) - Haka Samoa - Siva Tau Tonga - Sipi Tau Fiji - Cibi Cook Islands - Maori Ura The indigenous of Australia recently started their own form of a Haka. Should react to The Haka Doc - By Beats by Dre. It would provide some insight on the Significance of the Haka to NZ, as the Haka can be preformed at multiple occasions, before a match on game day, weddings, funerals, birthdays, graduations. As each haka has a message, either tribute or challenge. Its spectacular to be a part of.
In this game here there was a lot more emotion than usual because some of the tongan team (red) had recently switched alliances from he other team (kiwis)
Harka is danced in New Zealand not only in sports but also for funerals weddings retirement and greetings. The are also annual national completions for the best Haka. When a New Zealand service man or Woman is killed in action. When the body is brought home fellow service men greet them with a beautiful Harka. It looks like they are challenging the right to come home. Then gradually the Harka fades away and everyone steps back and bows their head and let’s the hearse pass. I have seen many people crying including myself when the hearse is stopped by what looks like a disorganized mob that melds into the Harka. Harka in many ways unites the country both Maori and Parkeha
Those are not the All Blacks. That is the NZ Rugby League team commonly known as the Kiwis. Rugby League and Rugby Union are two different games. All Blacks are the NZ rugby union team.

The black team was a New Zealand team but this is rugby league the all blacks play rugby union they’re the same sports but different rules in places the black team’s name is actually the kiwis and the red team was the country Tonga’s rugby league team and they don’t call there’s a haka it’s actually called a sipi tau still hype though also this game was just as good as the pre match I won’t spoil it just incase u want to watch it but the game is from the rugby league World Cup Tonga vs New Zealand
Yep, and thanks for pointing this out, and also for pointing out the differences in the cultural traditions not every "dance" before a competitive sporting event is a Haka. the Kiwis and the All Blacks are very different and the All Blacks are far more successful. A league test between the Tongans and the Kiwis will be more competitive than a test between the Tongans (rugby team) and the All Blacks.

Wow, Thanks for the information.
I'm from New Zealand, every school rugby team starts each game with their Haka's, it's pretty cool and really sets the atmosphere.

There's 2 types of rugby. This one is hard hitting straight forward action(Rugby league). The other, rugby union(All Blacks) is more tactical.
Thanks for letting me know the difference Mike.
