I travelled to Kanasawa in Aug. It really a good place, it is peaceful, and the city view is wonderful.
I think I will visit again in Winter for the future.

Took this train back in 2019. “Thunderbird” name is cool - makes me think of the old puppet TV series from long ago. There was a great Japanese curry place just outside Komatsu station - very popular with tasty food. Even though I’ve been to Japan lots of times I find these videos informative and entertaining. Keep up the good work!
well to be fair its name from 1964 to 2011 was “Raichou”, the Japanese name for Thunderbird AKA the Rock Ptarmigan which is native to the Hokuriku Region.

Flat face definitely looks better because it's so distinctive. I rode this train a couple of times between Osaka and Kyoto, primarily because it was soon to depart when we arrived at the station. Other times we used the shinkansen. Once we used a local train (going to Kyoto). The Thunderbird is definitely the most fun.
This kind of cab is called "ricecooker" by the Japanese for its unique shape.

I remember this train from PS2 Japanese train simulator "Densha de Go! Final" and older one with different color and different line got over 200km/h on speedometer (but only limit to 160km/h for safety)

I thought the Keisei Skyliner from Narita airport was the fastest non-Shinkansen train in Japan - I believe its the only non-Shinkansen to do 160kph.
I have been to Japan and I am going back again next year but not in summer :( One thing I noticed was there is no graffiti ! Also no rubbish strewn around and smokers must smoke in designated areas,their not allow to walk around and smoke and nor are you allowed to walk and eat I just love the respect and culture of this country just love it :))))
I don't know where you went on your trip, but Tokyo is generally clean because some people are assigned to clean up litter from the streets in the early hours.
An example would be the streets of Shinjuku that are full of litter every night after young people have finished drinking and are heading home.
I know a streamer that vapes anywhere he goes and I've seen people smoke on the streets without anyone really caring about it, so I doubt it's a strictly enforced rule unless you're doing it inside a building. I guess it's a bit different in any other area in Tokyo though.
Are those bento vending machine food pretty fresh? I would be worried if it was left in the machine long.

Much of the Hokuriku Line will have been transferred to third sector operations; thankfully the new Hapi Line will have rapid service for those still wanting to traverse the conventional line and stare out the window. Lack of JR pass coverage makes this tricky though.

In a way it's sad that this train does not run to Kanazawa anymore since they extended the Shinkansen line. While travel time has been reduced, cost has increased for some travellers.

Intercities (ICE) 250, seldom up to 300 kmh.
it depends on the rails, also ICEs, because they often have to use the common rails for all kind of trains.

C'est vrai que le Japon 🇯🇵 est de loin beaucoup plus cool au monde et même si la vie est un peu plus chère qu'en France. 🇫🇷 Mais au niveau sérénité ; il y a aucune comparaison. Je suis sûr que n'importe qui comme nous les français; nous en serions bien plus à l'aise au Japon contrairement à la France actuelle qui n"a malheureusement plus rien à montrer de positif ou de bon (je n'en dirai pas plus). C'est pour cela que j'adore regarder les nombreuses vidéos sur le Japon ; oublier le train-train quotidien parfois stressant et de rêver en passant des bons moments. Je pense que vous partagez également le même avis. 😉 Très bon week-end à vous. 😊

The Thunderbird will stop operating between Kanazawa and Tsuruga once the Shinkansen extension is opened next year. Is it true? I'm sad, I liked Thunderbird.
Yes, once shinkansen is built, JR tends to cancel limited express service on conventional line that runs parallel to shinkansen. In some cases, JR will even hand the line over to private sector or local government if they think they can't make profits on that line anymore.

Quem dera se tivéssemos trens entre cidades e capitais com a velocidade do Thunderbird, no Brasil entre capitais de trem, só existe a Belo Horizonte/Vitoria, que leva 12 horas a viagem, que poderia ser feita em até 3 horas com trens de alta velocidade..

Und was den Zug betrifft: Mir gefällt die 681-serie besser als die 683-serie. Die 681er sehen dynamischer aus.
