Agree. Story and writing on highest level. Characters are great. Specially old lady. She really messed me up. Moments when Mo-mi were in prison and had to deal with bullying women was probably my favorite part of the show. It was truly emotional ride. Hollywood truly suck at this moment so I'm really glad that we have some great stuff from Asia.

This show put me through some of the most intense emotions I've ever felt from a work of fiction. It was twisted yet heartwarming and and so many other conflicting emotions. This is a heavy show, yet it wasn't hard to watch. The satisfaction and joy and wholesomeness it brought me was as intense as the heartbreaking, earth-shattering sorrow I felt throughout. It is a good balance and will not fail to tug at your heartstrings and always keep you on the edge of your seat. The story unfolds in such a unique way and you'll 100% be left in tears, as well as in awe. If you have not yet seen Mask Girl, please, do yourself a favor and check it out.
To me the real villain of the story was Masked girl's mother. I think her mother's treatment affected her more than anyone. It was heartbreaking when masked girl said "Mommy will never call you ugly" to her kid. So despite not showing much of masked girl's relationship with her mother, that words implied so many things.
Nobody got justice in the whole story, everyone got screwed over by 2 rapists (Handsome Monk, Oh-nam), 1 abusive man (Bu-yong), and Oh-nam's deadbeat father who left Kim Kyung-ja right after marrying her. Mo-mi did not become a killer because her mom called her ugly. It was because 2 men tried to r(a)pe her, one already did.

And yeah, it's sad that she ended up being potrayed as a serial killer when in fact all her murders were self defence. Both of her mother and the creepy dude’s mother was the real villain… if the mother of the creep weren’t blinded by her wrong views, she would have known that her son was bullied and wouldn’t make him being alone and studying as a good thing… it seems like she was not aware and trying to care of her son’s well being but just of her son’s existence… and her trying to go psycho is her coping mechanism because she can’t accept that she was the reason of his downfall and had to blame it on someone else… ughh
IKR. Everyone depicted Momi as some cold-blooded killer and a monster when it was the two men that were monsters. She should’ve said in her trail that they raped her. I don’t think most people would show empathy to her still but she didn’t deserve to go to jail.
If you like movies like lady vengeance, you’ll love this show! I can’t believe this isn’t as popular as it should be especially considering the cast and the origin of the show. I feel like the stuff it discusses is really relevant to present day. And my fav part was def the friendship shown between the two women.
It's because too many people are still caught up in watching absolutely awful Marvel and DC Superhero movies. I will admit, Marvel made some pretty good, and even a few really good, movies all the way up to "End Game"... Ever since, it has been a downhill slide and the Movies/Streaming TV Shows that they make now are unwatchable. They are just TERRIBLE! And DC is even worse somehow. So good TV programs such as this one never even get a chance. It's a shame. This show should be trending worldwide!

This drama just became my favourite thriller!! It was totally unpredictable and well executed, I watched the whole drama in one sitting because it had a grasp on me. MIMO's life was so sad and it made my heart wrench, all the character's did extremely well!! It was a worthy binge watch.

We loved how realistic they portrayed each character's sufferings, not to mention the actors who did such a good job in acting them as well. 10/10, would definitely recommend. P.s. Chun-ae really deserved a happy ending with Mo-mi.

Why wasn’t this series released in weekly installments? Since each episode was wildly unpredictable, breaks between shows would give time for viewers to process all the shock and insanity. Also, spreading episodes out over a month would give enough time to generate a lot of buzz about how the interweaving storylines would play out in the finale.

The first series to make me cry this much.The mask girl was the result of the judgemental society and yet this society which put her in this position never tried to understand her reasons,her actions and her ALL.Also they say if you really hate the antagonist they have done their role like they should.I f*cking hate her so much 😅Even though the end was heartbreaking it was fair enough to end that way,not like the other stories where you get shot 300 times and you are still alive hahaha. 10/10 Totally recommend it!!!
whoa I finished watching it in one sitting and it was so sick! It was well written and the casts were superb! Granny and the 1st detective in this series were together in Uncanny Encounters season 2, the glory and now here in Mask Girl 😱 those 3 actresses who played Kim Mo Mi were really great! They portrayed the character so well! Granny tteokbokki's acting has always been great! I love Kim Mo Mi character in prison. I want to see more of Go Hyung Ju in psychological thriller movies, she is so amazing! Kudos to all the casts and crew! You guys really did an amazing series love it!

Just binge watched the whole series. I already had somewhat bit expectations because of the casts lineup and I liked the premise + being a fan of Nana 🫶 but Mask Girl DID NOT disappoint! Exceeded my expectations! Loved every second of it. Each episode despite having their own ‘perspective’ managed to give different feeling AND still tied nicely to the whole story. The casts delivered so amazingly, this is honestly one of few shows that got me hooked to each character Anyway. Great acting, great storyline, great execution for the whole show, even great outfits styling too. Great job to everyone involved! 👍 What a treat watching this amazing show :)

it was really good, ppl hating it are just too used to happy endings like typical kdramas, but Mask Girl (although still dramatic) really speaks on the reality that "good" ppl dont always win in life, & how SA victims story arent always heard

Why wasn’t this series released in weekly installments? Since each episode was wildly unpredictable, breaks between shows would give time for viewers to process all the shock and insanity. Also, spreading episodes out over a month would give enough time to generate a lot of buzz about how the interweaving storylines would play out in the finale.

I binged this the day it came out (as I do with most dark K-dramas). Such a rollercoaster of emotions and I didn't stop watching it till the end.

The first series to make me cry this much.The mask girl was the result of the judgemental society and yet this society which put her in this position never tried to understand her reasons,her actions and her ALL.Also they say if you really hate the antagonist they have done their role like they should.I f*cking hate her so much 😅Even though the end was heartbreaking it was fair enough to end that way,not like the other stories where you get shot 300 times and you are still alive hahaha.

whoa I finished watching it in one sitting and it was so sick! It was well written and the casts were superb! Granny and the 1st detective in this series were together in Uncanny Encounters season 2, the glory and now here in Mask Girl 😱 those 3 actresses who played Kim Mo Mi were really great! They portrayed the character so well! Granny tteokbokki's acting has always been great! I love Kim Mo Mi character in prison. I want to see more of Go Hyung Ju in psychological thriller movies, she is so amazing! Kudos to all the casts and crew! You guys really did an amazing series love it!

Just binge watched the whole series. I already had somewhat bit expectations because of the casts lineup and I liked the premise + being a fan of Nana 🫶 but Mask Girl DID NOT disappoint! Exceeded my expectations! Loved every second of it. Each episode despite having their own ‘perspective’ managed to give different feeling AND still tied nicely to the whole story. The casts delivered so amazingly, this is honestly one of few shows that got me hooked to each character
Anyway. Great acting, great storyline, great execution for the whole show, even great outfits styling too. Great job to everyone involved! 👍 What a treat watching this amazing show :)
