To BrunoM175: Yes, these tuned / melodic drums are fairly unique to this region. A similar example of tuned / melodic drums is found in North Sumatra, Indonesia among the Toba Batak. The Toba drums are suspended on a bamboo rafter and are played with a pair of sticks. The drums are called taganing or tataganing.
