We are asking human beings to clean toilets," said Suraj Yengde - India’s first Dalit Ph.D. holder from an African university in the nation's history. Also speaking at India Today #ConclaveSouth18 were BJP leader Krishna Sagar Rao and former Union minister MM Pallam Raju, who unanimously agreed that successive governments had done everything they could to make sure that the rights of Dalits were ensured.

This debate led me to ponder over the Oxford debate of Shashi tharoor , where he argued for the British reparations to Indians , everyone congratulated him and applauded for saying the misery and loss of people can't be quantified of 200 years of rule , if that's the acceptable then why shouldn't there be reservations as a reparations to what Hindus have done to dalits for more than 2000 years of their atrocities?

As long as reservations continue based on caste, the system will never change. If hundreds of years of oppression can be corrected by uncontinued reservations it will only have a negative impact. There are many poor people among the so called forward castes who have to sit at home or do the same jobs which an u educated fellow has to do irrespective of the caste he belongs to. If there's a Brahmin who has not done even his matriculate, no one will give him a collectors job. He will have to clean toilets or sweep. But if somebody is dreaming that reservations will give status they are mistaken. Even the rich dalits don't care a damn about the one in a village with no means. They are seeking grooms and brides for their children among non dalits. Caste system is an evil but perpetuating the system by continuing them as vote banks is a devil which can only destroy the country. Days are not far off when there will be fights within different castes or communities among the dalits, even if they don't want to fight, there are capable people who can incite them to fight.

For example in Germany fleischer is a surname of a person who’s forefathers were butchers , Maler Is the surname for people who’s ancestors were painters, Müller is the surname of person who’s forefathers would gather garbage ( mull in German.).So I would request all to research a bit. People were expected to stick to the family occupation in earlier times around the world, because of absence of formal training in any sector. It was easier to carry forward the familial occupation. The caste system, which is essentially Brahminism, is what has made India weak as compared to other countries. A large section of people was persuaded to believe that they were inferior and even impure and they were fit only to do menial work. For thousands of years a large population was exploited as slaves of the 'superior' people. Generation after generation was weakened through undernourishment and prevention of learning. (The belief in inferiority was ingrained through the concepts of rebirth and karma. The exploited people were told they were suffering because of their sins in their previous births. It was a brilliant and greatest con trick in the history of mankind.) Reservation is not charity but a small move for compensation, or perhaps reparation is the correct word. More has to be done to correct the consequence and mindset, in order to undo the harm caused to the country, and to make it strong.

In U.P many Brahmins got the job of garbage pickers but and earned 15-16,000 monthly but reality is they never worked they paid 2-3,000 every month to some poor hungry Dalit for that work and they used to do work inspite of that Brahmin who bribed to get that job and was earning money without doing anything. This is the reality of casteism in India which you people never wany to talk. You just want to see Dalits always as slaves..
