Holy moly... I know this song, that Misty is singing. I could be wrong, but there are many fan-made World of Goo games, where Misty's song is playing at title menu. Man, such a cool detail, that the original developers know about fandom creativity adds so much respect points from me to 2D Boys
Yeah I believe the song's name is 20 Years by Kyle Gabler and it has been used as the title screen music for the WoG 1/2 mod in the first game
@@CubingBonesyes, thank you, I mean exactly that campaign. Imho, 1/2 mod is way better in narrative and story aspect than sequel. Gotta rewatch it some day. Also i didn't know that this song was written by Kyle Gabler
@@yareyaredogze6084while I agree 1/2’s story is amazing at the same time I feel like it’s not something Kyle would make for a wog2
This was the most bizarre chapter
True and i was loving it
😱Oh My God! It's Like Chapter 4 Information Super Highway From The First World Of Goo Game All Over Again!😱
@@tysonclarke9099 i don't remember that chapter being that bizarre
@@GeorgeTankerYTyeah info superhighway didn't have all these world of goo [INSERT NUMBER HERE.].
@@GeorgeTankerYTYeah this one is also in a different area than the Information Superhighway, that was in the internet and this is in a pit created after the ending of chapter 3
I understand that the black stain levels can drag on but personally I found them incredible and the highlight of the whole thing, super fun subversion
I’m with you. I found those levels fascinating!
I loved them. I don't mind long dialogue in games, and the way they tied it all together at the end fit perfectly
Same
As much as the black stain levels were filled with long dialogue, I found it pretty fun and interesting. It's something I didn't expect from World of Goo 2 and I also don't really mind long dialogue bits as much as other people do. And the last level tied everything together pretty good, after a seemingly random and all-over-the-place chapter, making everything make sense.
Exactly. And tbh wog9 and 11 felt MORE like wog1 to me then the rest of wog2 did, the first three chapters were designed in a “familiar but a bit weird” way with the same basic gameplay but new gooball sounds and song remixes which felt awkward (not that’s a bad thing, I understand why the devs did that as it’s a great theme) while c4 just went full whimsical/insane mode, and wog1 and little inferno wouldn’t be wog1 or little inferno without that kind of crazy deviation/shocking moment so seeing wog2 do that def made me feel more like a kid then the beginning of wog2
The people who say all the black stain chapters have a lot of text and it's boring have their brain rotted to the point where they cant read about 4 paragraphs in a row, TikTok has ruined our attention span and we can do nothing.
I played it again and it isn't even that much text, the whole script can be written in about 4-5 pages including even the optional dialogues of the secret goo's, a very fair amount of text based on the type of game it tried to parody, and everything it says isn't just filler, it has a very depth meaning and philosophy about our actual society, specially on the "Murder on the midnight Steamliner" level. God, even if english isn't my main language, the whole syntax and text structure is pretty easy to understand, and the whole ambience just make it one of the best sections in the game.
IKR, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SAYING THIS
I have a theory about the fourth chapter of World Of Goo 2. And this theory may answer the question of why the creators, no matter how much the fans want it, will not make a sequel and a whole franchise from the World Of Goo game.
In the first of the three games, World Of Goo 9: Paper Goolf, we see a game made in a paper style. At the time this game was created, paper ceased to exist in the world.
In the second, World Of Goo 11: This Way Up, we see that gravity can now be controlled in every way (in all levels except Stumbler). In the years of this game's creation, people argue about gravity, and some even want to abolish it. And people are also completely moving into virtual reality.
In World Of Goo 17: The Black Stain, everything has reached the point where the game has turned into a detective story, because... Come on, this is the 17th part of the game. And here it is already noticeable that the reality of the game and the reality of the world inside World Of Goo 2 (which we play) have merged, because they are connected to each other.
What am I getting at?
If the creators will continue to make sequels, it will be absolutely pointless. Because the game will then lose its original meaning and appearance. For example, in World Of Goo 9, we see that the balls now need to be launched into a pipe, and not build structures (this is one of the important parts in the World Of Goo games). In World Of Goo 11, you can control gravity as you please (remember that World Of Goo is a computer logic game with imitation of physical events). In World Of Goo 17, the entire focus has now shifted entirely to the plot. Balls can now only be collected in boxes or received during dialogue with characters. There is also some music and Easter eggs referring to the original. But these are only crumbs of what was before. That is, in this way, the creators want to show us that if we continue to make sequels and milk any work of art, this will lead to the disappearance of the original meaning and image, from which only the name will remain (as we see in World Of Goo 17: The Black Stain) and some quiet echoes in the background in the form of small melodies, pictures and notes. And I also have another strange assumption about why in the fourth chapter, after the tense third chapter with a train flying at supersonic speed, such relatively easy levels. This is due to the growth of the audience. Most likely, since many could complain in the future about the complexity of the original, the creators within the world of World Of Goo 2 decided to simplify the game process so that everyone could play them without any problems. Thus, they lost another of the main features of their games - a small challenge for people so that they do not go through the games thoughtlessly, but carefully think through each step in the game. That is, the players, with their influence, completely transformed the franchise from something amazing and incredible into something ordinary, boring, and for kindergarteners.
Tho ngl I would kill to have a full on Paper Goolf as a spin off of sorts. It could be a fun small release of sorts. Either that or the unreleased Tower Defense minigame for this chapter (one existed at one point according to a developer on WoG2, it even had unique balls). I think Goolf has potential for a full title though? they have so many mechanics they could add tbh, like liquid and even more ball types.
This is the best comment I have ever seen, you My friend are a true fan of World of Goo 🫡🤝
This is an amazing concept. I think this might've been what they were getting at with these levels.
Yes it was obvious to me the moment I got to wog17 that this is what the devs were going for
What’s your favorite World of Goo game? Personally, mine was World of Goo 9, Paper Goolf. That one was GREAT!!
My confusion when clicking on the first yellow level and seeing
"World of goo 9."
BUT. IM GONNA START A WAR. BEST ONE IS THE GRAVITY ONE.
Agree.
Shame the gravity levels were way too short.
@@k2aj710at least we still have the gravity block in little inferno
No. The WoG11 game is the worst game in the series. There’s no denying it. When hearing they were making more WoG games I was immediately unhappy because I knew Paper Goolf’s perfect ending didn’t need to be continued, and I’m sorry to say I was right. Not only is the story and lack of signs extremely dumb and filled with horrible messages, the new devs are really horrible people IRL and I can’t enjoy the game cause of it. Not only was that joke in the first level about the tragic deaths of Kyle Gabler and Ron Carmel in a bridge accident extremely insensitive, it’s obvious based off of their messages that they support the up-pointing politicians, and I can’t sympathize with them any longer. The last up-pointing government’s failure to properly handle the worldwide global cooling crisis caused by that criminal Nancy and her corrupt corporation’s manipulation of that foolish city still is affecting us today; I’ve lost a ton of family and friends to Little Inferno fireplace addiction because of their incompetence. At least the East-pointers actually care about our gravity. Please, for the sake of my floating enjoyment, for the sake of all the gravity business’s money, and most importantly our children’s freedom to ride on any flying thrill amusement park ride they want, defend our country and vote for the east-pointing party, it’s the ONLY way to save our own personal gravity rights! I WILL NOT ALLOW THE GOVERNMENT TO DECIDE WHICH WAY ME AND MY FAMILY WILL FALL. THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE THAT POWER. Artificial lifeform activists advocating for lower gravity prices clearly need to read up on history and learn what happened the last time we tried lowering prices on innovative things, ever heard the tragedy of the Mighty Blimp? ELECT AN EAST-POINTER FOR PRESIDENT ASAP. WE MUST DEFEAT THE UP-POINTERS IN THE 2216 ELECTION TO SAVE OUR GRAVITY
so this is what happened to MOM. makes me sad. Sorry for not visiting.

Paper mario and a fucking point and click game crazy asf

Why the hell is a detective game in World of Goo 2?
its the 17th game, they had to try something new
You mean 17?
You're talking about WoG 17 not WoG 2
No one knows…
This is bullshit ._.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
btw this game is 6 hours gameplay btw thats a lot more then the first game even bigger then modern warfare Xd
Uhhh STUMBLER?? I think is tumbler...
this was the most agonizing chapter especially the last levels
nah gravity and golf were fun but the point and click levels were so slow i legit just skiped the 3rd and 4th one plus the story was basic asf except the twist at the end
The black stain levels were the highlight, the gravity ones were the only weak levels ngl
@@bosssnurp5912 ruv those were soo long
@@someoneontheinternet3427I agree, I think they wanted to do something as Inscryption did but it was really desapointing and boring
@@brezo9192how was it disappointing
The Black Stain levels have their moments, but were still definitely the weakest part of the game in my book. I'm with the Curator. Too wordy for my taste.
How were they weak
@ Because it is a 30 minute unskippable cutscene in a puzzle game. There’s no interesting choices nor even player agency. There’s no possibility to make a mistake, meaning there’s no need to even engage with the story. For a detective mini game, I would have let all the unskippable dialogue slide if the player at least had to gather clues and form a theory of their own before putting it to the test, but no such mechanic exists. It is entirely linear, and for me, the weakest part of the game.
I assume 9/11/17 is important
They’re just the ones that survived all these years.
Very disapointing chapter, specially the point and click levels. Pretencious, boring, unchallenging and pointless
I don’t know what chapter and point and click levels you played but it definitely was not the ones I played
