It's an old tradition in, England chimney sweeps are supposed bring good luck, particularly at Christmas and New Year. They also used to be invited to weddings so that the marriage would be a happy and lucky one (they got paid for that :) ) My cousin was a chimney sweep in Yorkshire, England for a few years, that's how I know. It’s rainy here as well in Maine but we do need the rain, but lawn sales have dropped off drastically unfortunately, but inevitably. So happy to see you, hello my name is Tina and I’m a full time reseller, but do what you have to do. We love you but want you to be well and take care of the real important things-your family and yourself! And if we get to see you every now and again, all the better!!

Perhaps you can do a haul of some of the items you found over the summer. I have also missed seeing you on your porch filming your hauls. Good deal on the Coach shoes, you can see the quality of leather. Nice prices on the clothes. The paperweight is pretty, like the platter, good haul. BTW you have fabulous hair. Take care.

Hi there. I've always wondered about Silesia too since I collect antique china, and I occasionally run across china marked with that name. Silesia is now in Poland but was once a part of Prussia aka Germany. Those calla lily plates are lovely.

The Chimney sweep could be a character of a Hans Christian Andersen fairytale ( the Shepherdess and the Chimney Sweep). The other doll ( Girl with the matchsticks) is also a Hans Christian Andersen character.
