Not at all the same board. Template is only one part of board design. But even the templates are different, boss up has a small hip just up from the leading fins. Bottom contours are obviously very different. But more important is the rocker. The mid 6 has way more entry rocker and isn’t really meant for small and weak waves. Boss up images a fairly flat entry rocker and can grovel. That said Boss up can also handle steep waves owing to the narrow template. Just got to get in early.
I have a 7'0 G&S thruster for those small gutless days that even works in head high steep barreling days I got it for post back surgery to get me back out into surfing and have continued to break it out on those smaller days the major problem it's next to impossible to duck dive guess I need to break down and visit the shop Be well my friend Thanks for sharing as always and God Bless 👍
your content is so awesome. engaging, entertaining...but, above all else, incredibly informative. thank you!
Have a 6'6. Bought it as a bigger shortboard, and it works very well, even in tight vertical pockets.
How's this compared to the Mid 6?
It's just about the same template. 2 litres more than the MID6 I ride.
@@larrydowling5213nope. I tried out the Boss Up and own a MID 6.
Different boards. Nice try though
@@charleshawk6668 the nose is narrower and no channels but it's basically the same board.

How does it compare to m23
I have a 7’2 M23 and demoed the Boss Up. The M-23 felt way easier to catch waves with. Boss up felt a tad faster once you get up and go.
The Boss Up is a cracking board but much prefer mine as a Thruster rather than a Quad.
How would this compare to the CI M23?
Yall should let me come show yall what that board can do. I ride a 7 MID6 and i wush it had this boards 42 litres instead of the 40.
Ronnie Rahne was shaping boards like that early eighties. Aussie influenced.
I can’t find a single video of Kelly surfing it 😂
