Probably Lu’s most underrated and under appreciated song. Also, he brought The Neptunes back together for this tracks for a time. One of their most underrated tracks. This would’ve been right at home on Kelis’ first album. Banger. You know the beautiful part? Lu is still very much around and making phenomenal music.

So after watching a video yesterday night on “what happened to Lupe Fiasco “ I found out he spent his own money on this video 🙌🏾 after the label wouldn’t back him up anymore. Besides motivating, there's a story to this music video of how it wasn't promoted by his label because of his falling out with them and how it was his guy who had contacts with tv people who aired it on music channel. Something like that. His perseverance inspires me.
So what makes me have tears is that the lyrics of this song is tying up to what happens with the video thing and on some retrospective shit or whatever it's called, it's moving. Man's good.

N he says it in almost every song how he wont change for the industry n make songs with negative messages.. at first they figured he was like everyone else n he would conform after a lil "motivation" and or what most people would say is flat out blackmail. After they realized he wasn't going.. he just disappeared. They dropped him from the label he got no radio play. Barley did shows. Which were jokes if he did, disrespectful really. His name never got mentioned, he self promoted his album n if u listen it's still lupe but you can tell that he is working with some pretty cheap equipment but the biggest thing like he says in the song "letting go" he is just worn out n tired of constantly defending his music n his message. Big respect to you Lupe not alot of people do what u do. They say they do. In the end they sell out at the end of every night n wake up thinking they are beyond their reach. You really are. LAZERS!!!
