Glad things are going well, we, as fans of you and your reactions, are heavily invested in you and your baby's well being. Pentatonix never let's us down, they can do no wrong.
I am always so happy to see that you've dropped another PTX video, but the last few weeks I've just been hoping you would post happy news, and I'm so happy to hear that you've been blessed to have a successful IVF finally and will soon welcome a blessed child into your lives. Congratulations. I'm very happy for you as I know so many of your followers are as well.
Yes, that is Scott doing the bass part while Matt took the lead (Scott did the same for Avi in the original version). And continued congratulations on the pregnancy!!
Glad you are feeling well enough to post and that the news continues to be good! Take the time you need to take care of yourself. Yes, this version is epic mature PTX! The other difference in this compared to their original video is that Kevin is beat boxing here, where in the original he was primarily doing body percussion- claps and stomps. As you noted, the ending is also different and Scott really goes off! As others have said this is close to how they perform it live at concerts these days.
Congratulations, and continued prayers for you and your family! This is sort of both a reworking of Hallelujah and a throwback to PTX's old days in the way they did the last portion, after Mitch's solo. The three "hallelujah" choruses are sort of similar to the original video, but Scott does a lot more ad-libbing, riffs, and runs in the final two choruses than he did originally. Mitch and Kirstie still have their focus on the final chorus, but Scott is still riffing through it. Then they change it completely and add a new short section (and I think a key change), where Scott is just really singing vowels, not words, Mitch repeats "hallelujah" 4 times by himself, and Kirstin just sings it once for the whole section - it's very similar to the "split harmonies" (polyphony, I've since learned) that the Trio used to do in a fair number of their songs. From people who have seen them recently, this is pretty much how they perform the song live in concert these days. You're not the only one who's remarked on how Kirstin holds her mic in this, and I haven't heard/seen an explanation for it yet.
Carmen, what fabulous news for you. I was hoping that your absence was nothing bad and I’m so relieved. I must have watched this live version fifty times or more, yet I still get all emotional when I hear it, it’s such a wonderful mature version. Loved your reaction as always. 💜
I agree they sound better live. My opinion on that is because live, their voices are more distinct. I can hear each of them. After they’ve been through the studio process, sometimes it harder to hear all the nuances of their voices. I’m going to see them in concert in December. Can’t wait.
As with your other Pentatonix reactions, your joy experiencing this performance is infectious Thank-you for sharing! You are correct it is Scott that takes the Bass part when Matt has the lead. In such a talented group it is possible to overlook Scott's talent and ridiculous/out of this world range (from Bass to ??? whatever those high notes are). His stylings are not always my cup of tea ( but can grow on me with repeat listening) and I have the greatest respect for his vocal abilities. As a group I still feel they are "second to none!" 😊 Blessings to you and your partner during this exciting/expectant time in your lives!!! 🙏
You and your baby journey are way more important than posting videos. I'm happy every time you pop up in my feed. If you need rest, especially later in your pregnancy, we understand. We'll wait until you can post again. I pray that everything continues to go well in your life journey.
Hi Carmen, God blesses us when it’s time, and He also tests us in same. I’m so glad that He decided it was time to wreck your sleep, put you in a constant state of panic, change your body in ways you would never have guessed, and give you the most joy you’ve ever known. So happy for you!
If you see this late comment, you asked about Kirstie tilting her mic. They recently posted a very funny "behind the scenes" on I G that PWN re-posted to YT. It appears to be from the end of May? It includes some footage from some photo shoots, as well as some clips from filming this video. Apparently Scott was singing so loudly that there was concern about his vocals bleeding over into Kirstie and Mitch's microphones, so she was trying to aim it away from Scott to help avoid this. th-cam.com/video/ir7Xwi4i5Mc/w-d-xo.html. From what's shown in this, it appears that they also filmed new live versions of several other "greatest hits", as well as an official live version of their new Taylor Swift medley that they performed in their summer concerts! Looking forward to all these new videos when they decide to release them!!
Wonderful news!!!! Do what you can. We will understand! Scott is doing the bass while Matt sings. So glad you are back. Praying for you and your little one.
It’s lovely to have you back, especially with a PTX video! Congratulations, sweetie, on your pregnancy, that’s a fabulous update! As always, I love your reactions, thanks! (I promise not to go look at the old one.) Take care of yourself and the little one, we’re going to be here whenever you feel up to it! Peace …
The reaction part of the video hasn’t even started yet but I just had to pause to say I’m so pleased for you that everything is going well. I’ve been hoping while you hadn’t been posting that it was all positive. Love the scan video, thank you so much for sharing and sending so many good wishes to you all 😊
Along with holding the mic to the side, look at how Kirstie closes her eyes and “looks” down and to the right. In my amateur mind, I see her counting beats - probably in 64th notes or something equally advanced.
I'm so happy to hear you again and hear that your pregnancy is continuing well. I'm emotional too,, but I'm 85 so there's no way it's pregnancy. I've listened quite a few times and I've put proper headphones on this time. I'm going to listen to all my favourite reactors this way. They are obviously moving in new directions as they grow and their circumstances change.. We are so lucky to have them in our lives. And thank you for what you do to make it so easy for us. I'm in New Zealand and it really is special to feel part of it all.
I'm SO happy to see you back here again. As soon as I saw your face in my feed I wondered how you were doing with the IVF. I'm thrilled for you that all is going well and I look forward to updates and more PTX because your genuine please is obvious! :) Scott certainly took more liberties in this ending than usual and I'm with you - I enjoyed hearing Mitch in his lower register doing his own vocal acrobatics. Not sure I love the last high notes from Scott - impressive that he can hit them, but not sure it served the song. But that 5 seconds didn't ruin the whole rest of the 3+ minutes of gorgeous singing. Take care of yourself and your baby and I'll be watching for your next PTX video.
Early on, #PTX decided that it was worth a small cheat to make their albums better, so when they record a song for an album Avi or Matt will record two tracks, one with the bass line for the entire song, and one with his solo. Then they layer the solo over the bass track. And since official videos use the official release for the audio, the bass track is Avi or Matt throughout. That means that in the official video for Hallelujah, filmed in the Mojave Desert with Mitch in a wide-brimmed hat, you were hearing Avi throughout. But for live performances, Scott takes over the bass part during the bass's solo, and since this is a live performance, yes. While Matt is showing off his incredible falsetto, Scott is showing off *his* incredible bass. He's getting darn close to Matt's range at this point. *Very* impressive. As for Kevin, he's a tenor. His falsetto is gorgeous, but the lowest I've ever heard from him is in "Run To You," where he reaches the upper end of a baritone range.
So happy you are back. Missed you. Saw your instagram so I thought things were still ok. So happy for you and glad you are feeling better. I love seeing this version. They did something similar when I saw them in person last summer and it was so amazing.
Glad it’s going well on the home front. Keep taking care of yourself. 😊 Recommend their official video of My Favorite Things. It’s good for Halloween. P.S. - Please keep your first reaction up. Even with the difficulties, your initial reaction to PTX is priceless.
Hi. had to drop in to see if you had good news. And you did. In fact, GREAT NEWS! Prayers the pregnancy goes smoothly!!!!! Had to edit...Matt's voice is continuing to deepen and mature. He's still young and has lots of time to continue to improve. Scott is doing the bass. Kevin is a tenor and that is out of his range.
CONGRATULATIONS! it probably is the hormones. Get used to it sweetheart. I gave birth to four daughters. The hormones during my pregnancy… Did not make my husband very happy. 😂 I am so happy for you. Even though it can be hard sometimes, I loved being pregnant. It’s truly a blessing to have a baby and I’m so glad things worked out for you. 🤗💋🥰
Hi Carmen! Can you please react to Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) Live On the Eras Tour” and Taylor Swift’s “Artist Of The Decade Performance”? Please reply
Glad things are going well, we, as fans of you and your reactions, are heavily invested in you and your baby's well being. Pentatonix never let's us down, they can do no wrong.
If you watch enough live performances you start to notice their individual quirks. The way Kirstie holds her mic is one of them. 😉
I am always so happy to see that you've dropped another PTX video, but the last few weeks I've just been hoping you would post happy news, and I'm so happy to hear that you've been blessed to have a successful IVF finally and will soon welcome a blessed child into your lives. In this video you can see how Kirstin and Kevin support Mitch when he goes up high. Good Luck!

Congratulations on passing the 12 week mark! They absolutely are better live!!! I’m so glad you’re back!
They came to Idaho in mid-September and I was so happy to see them in person! It was a great concert and this was the final performance. Love it!
What u mean final version? Just curious lol
@@MarieMooney-s4b Final performance, not final version. I just meant that they closed the show with it.
