And you're required to play until your cumulative points reach a certain amount (stated under the reward) to claim the event rewards. Anyway, your cumulative points have to reach 50m if you want to collect all the rewards.

Do you mean the weekly league? Scores are based on the artists cards you have and the bonuses (if have), you have to equip them before playing the song. Bonuses such as artists Birthdays and albums release dates.
