UPDATE: #1 has a shortcut to get to the lift system: Hold toggle switch up for 3 seconds but time it takes to lift up or down is ridiculous!
I think that the video was a bit harsh. It did kinda upset me because I'm a British person and this is a good McLaren. Although it is based off an mp4-12c I like this car
UPDATE: Fellow Mclaren Owner with a tip for #2: If you click the unlock twice, the driver's door will pop. If you hold the unlock button, the passenger's door will pop.
Hey man great vid and I’m looking into getting one of those, just not sure about a few things: I have heard that the extended warranty wouldn’t cover the wear and tear of clutches, yet the 650s are known for having transmission issues, has anything related happened to your car? Also would like to know if there has been any issues within your ownership of the car and was it covered by the extended warranty. Thanks!
@@kerrnni4814 I've had many issues claimed under the extended warranty. Mostly related to engine oil leaks for different reasons and one related to the battery low protection system. In this latter case, the driver window is supposed to crack open by a few inches if the battery falls critically low. Last year I forgot to plug in the trickle charger but the window never self-lowered. If that happens the door is impossible to open. You then need to remove the liner of the front wheel well to access a cable that will mechanically unlock the vehicle.
I’ve had my 2016 650s spider for about 2 weeks and love it. I put almost 1500 miles on it in the first 6 days.

I do have a question about it’s durability/ reliability.
If you dont want the door to pop dont double press the unlock button, that feature is in there by desing not by mistake.

Thanks for the heads-up. I am currently looking for a 650S coupe in orange (like yours). I'd really rather rather have one in GULF orange because I followed Bruce and Denny in the M6A's back in CAN-AM days and I am forever captured. In your opinion and experience - what is the current McLaren culture (CA) like - are most drivers friendly and welcoming OR are they like certain other marques that are seemingly somewhat independant and snobbish?
I would say they are more friendly than Lamborghini / Ferrari owners -- Much more willing to show off the car brand to say "hey" we exist and we are just as cool as the rest of them LOL
I just bought a 2015 650s coupe with less than 2k miles, and there’s some sort of hydraulic pump noise coming from the rear of the car when I slow down. I don’t know if you experienced the same with yours. Thanks for the content 👊🏻
I did not ever notice that but there are always little things that I had issues with. Do u have extended warranty? I don't think I'd ever buy another Mclaren without it!
Ha. Just bought one and thank god these are the biggest gripes, they are barely notable! FYI the 458 doesn't have a lift at all, Bluetooth is a nightmare (about 100 times worse) and it doesn't have a back up cam. Strong first world problems on an amazing supercar. Thanks for sharing the lil issues though.
I can't believe you didn't mention this: the sound the turn signals make is barely audible and if like me you have a long torso, the cockpit turn signal lights are impossible to see unless you bend forward, even if your seat is in the lowest possible driving position. For that reason, at times, I end up driving around with my turn signal light still on something that has never happened in my other cars or motorcycles.
