I've learned so much from Russ, and am finally putting into practice what he's preaching. One song a week every week, and I'm starting wtih 1 year. I already have millions of plays but not millions of fans, and one thing i've learned is they have to be a fan of not just the music, but the person. I'll be documenting this whole thing on my channel if you want to follow along, I'm on week 3. After a year I can report back and see what happened, maybe the music sucks, maybe need to keep going. @@Elross_ hey there sorry for the super late reply! The 1 year 52 week experiment was great, I learned a ton and it’s def worth doing - but only if you’re able to do everything on your own. If you have to pay for beats or mixing engineers, visual artists, etc. then I wouldn’t recommend this approach. This approach is great for getting in reps, getting into the habit of finishing, and delivering. You’ll get a ton of feedback, and connect with others on the same path. I made solid new connections, and some friends I still talk to to this day. It’s worth doing, but no guarantees you’ll “blow up” from it. It’s more for learning how to be disciplined, delivering when you say you’re going to, and learning about your own process and what you do well. From a release strategy on getting songs heard I actually think there’s better ways. Cheers!
