I love ur review and its the best review for this book yet. You actually explained what the story was about and then said how you read through the book. Most reviews forget to give a review of what Ship of Thesus is about they just focus on the people passing the book back and forth.
@@Shauntara86 thanks! I loved this book on a number of levels and feel it doesn’t get enough love. I’m also in middle of season two rewatching Lost right now (20 year anniversary if can believe it) so thanks for reminding me of this book on my shelves!
Thank God I found your review, I saw some others that said that the story was not as engaging or satisfying and I was worried it would be just bad writing with cool visuals, but it seems it may just be a topics preference, and I also love jj Adams ambiguos and time warping concepts so I will give this book a try now that it has finally been translated to Spanish
I was looking into this book and a lot of reviews were very confused and luke warm. But your comparison to the show Lost, really makes me want to read it.
It’s the exact same man- JJ Abrams so it absolutely has that shows flavor. I really love this book- but I also loved Lost. If you loved Lost I would absolutely recommend this book knowing its not your typical read- more like a book puzzle. Thanks for taking time to comment!
Great review. I have had this book since it's release but gave up twice after only a few pages. I think in the New Year I will have to actually get this finished.
I did have to look at it for short amounts of time and think about it- I read other books with it and it took me close to a whole month to go through it but when you have the right expectations I think it does work! Thanks!
It's not for everyone for sure- and likely best enjoyed when one knows the right expectations and appreciates it for what it is/ is in the mood for that! But I loved it. Thanks for stopping in :)
Huh, the book definitely fits with J.J. Abrams's stories (totally insane and full of mysteries). He did this great Ted Talk on mystery boxes which talked about his philosophy on stories, and how all his stories have so many layers. So this book sounds fitting for him, lol.
Oh that was a GREAT talk- yes that’s so why I am a fan - I agree there is power in the story of the mystery box and the human story within it (and cool special effects are fun icing on the cake!)
I would say it is very typical JJ Abrams so it is possible it’s not for you BUT if you like other quirky writings like Kurt Vonnegut or Douglas Adams or if you love working actual puzzles I would say you probably would like it. If none of those things I definitely would skip it! Thanks for watching 🧡
@@aaronstark5060 aw well that random quirkiness he has i personally find that flavor in the experience of S though S is a much slower pace than his books since you are putting it all together if that makes sense. Love to know if it works out for you if you get to it! S is not for everyone so it’s also really interesting to me who appreciates it and who just thinks it’s too weird! Happy reading!

Sounds like a really fun experience! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for stopping in today Jaimee!
I’ve always been intrigued by this book, and this was a great review, thank you! Never saw Lost but it have always meant to get to it some day 😊
I think both Lost the show and this book will definitely not be for everyone but they are for me! Ha ha!

@@EntertheBook Lost was a favorite of mine when I was younger, I will definitely look into this book more.
What an incredible review of this book. I own this book and it continues to stare me down. You make me want to pick it up. 😊
I saw it on your shelf during your counting book video and meant to ask you if you read it/ what you thought of it! ❤️

Great review, sounds so interesting! Books like this both annoy me and intrigue me though.

@@EntertheBook Right? I love that talk!
Thanks
You’re welcome ☺️
I’ve been sort of on the fence about this one. It does look really interesting, but I’m not a fan of JJ Abrams at all, so that makes me hesitant.

You had me at Kurt Vonnegut.
