#12 Northwestern vs #5 Alabama | Winner To Women's College World Series | 2023 College Softball

Northwestern Softball and Alabama played in game 3 of the Tuscaloosa Super Regional in the 2023 College Softball Season. The winner would advance to the Women's College World Series and play Tennessee in the opening round.

I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

Why does Montana run away from the play/pitch mound after a bunt?

Because of her bum knee, she can't field anything. Better to leave it for anyone else to play.

Why do they fake bunt and then hit? I’ve seen them do it on 2 strikes knowing they aren’t bunting. Doesn’t make sense to me

Yep, it causes them to be late on the swing.

Because it brings the players in for the bunt but if they hit it well, they will hit the ball into an empty spot.
