The drummer is Eddie's brother Alex Van Halen.

@@RQG-YT Fun fact: It was lead singer David Lee Roth who suggested naming the band Van Halen. The brothers were going to go with "Rat Salad" but Dave thought it would be cooler and classier to use Van Halen. Most people just assume that the band is named Van Halen because of Eddie and Alex.

Before you check out any other songs, skip right over to Eddie Van Halen, Eruption solo (Live Without a Net Version is the gold standard). It's about 13 minutes long, but trust me, it's a must see before you go any further. It will help you understand why Eddie is a legend. As a guitarist yourself, I'm sure you will be able to appreciate it. Also yes, Alex Van Halen is a BEAST on the drums.

The wallpaper on my computer is a picture of Eddie Van Halen eating a sandwich outside of a McDonald’s in the 70s. I have it there to remind myself that there was something Eddie did that I can do too, lol.

Your next VH song video should be "Unchained" from the Fair Warning album (studio version, not live). I know everyone says to watch the live Eruption solo ( it's actually a combination of several of Eddie's instrumental creations) but I would suggest the studio versions of "Ice Cream Man" and "I'm the One" from the debut album for two of Eddie's greatest in song solo work. EVH was also just as prolific of a rhythm player too. Check out "Light Up the Sky" (VH II), "Romeo Delight" (Women & Children First), and "Girl Gone Bad" (1984) for examples of great rhythm and solo play in the same song.

When watching this video it's so fun and crazy... but also exciting to think of having a school like that 🤪... with that aside, this song rocks from the beginning to the end. 🤘🏽😎

Fix that problem with the holes in your ears, then listen to Fairwarning start to finish.

Yeah so one thing...in 99% of bands the drummer and bass player are in sync, VH really the guitar and drummer are in sync. It's a weird thing to get used to sometimes the the timing is kinda different if
Also, for as good as Ed is on lead, he is the KING of rhythm guitar, don't let the dumb dumbs lie to you. Listen to his rhythm playing seriously
