Actually, the old KV at tier 5 *could* mount the 152mm howitzer back in the day. In my opinion, the 107mm was the better choice at tier 5, though. Much less chance of getting raped by a Pz4 Schmalturm while on the reload. Also, the greatest strength of the T-50-2 back when it was introduced was its insane cornering ability. This was back before physics were even a thing, so you couldn't drift and with the T-50-2's acceleration and turning speed, it could drive circles around just about every tank in the game.
What I miss is the old Chaffee. It was an awesome tank and on top of that it could see tier X. I will always remember bringing a noob in his VK 36.01 H into a tier X game
WT is one of those tanks that felt OP only when you were getting clipped by it...but whenever I got behind them in my T49 it was like heaven...I never hated the WT until I got perma tracked and clipped

Of course I've been clipped by them once in a while, but sometimes, they either derp the majority of a clip or something, and you can just HE them absolutely to death. Especially when they adjusted accuracy and removed the 6th shell, the tank became less difficult to fight against, in my eyes. Personal favorite moment: I was on a city map with my JPE100 and there was only arty and a WT left, so I loaded HE. I drove around the corner, found the WT on full health. Satisfaction in a nutshell. I was lucky though, he was reloading and my shot ammoracked him too, otherwise there would've been a chance he'd outreloaded me. Anyway I think the WT is where WG saw that OP tanks are quite the thing to make people spend loads of money on premium stuff and gold for free exp, so to me, the WT is the core of the now pretty fucked up powerhouse meta.
Op and broken are different things. For example the british 183mm guns with HESH: They are just broken. An the IS3 on the other hand is not broken, but op.
Playing Since Early Beta with Thousands of rounds in the original KV,as well as every Varient.The 152mm on the Tier 5 KV terrifying you knew you were going to maim anything you hit. It was one of the few ways you could hurt the T-54 when it was first released in the Beta,due to how broken that medium tank was.

Yeah, the Wt auf E100 was balanced indeed, balanced around Wt see Wt kills. I dont think there have ever been a tank as strong as that one in the game tbh.
umm, actually. The old kv with the kv-2 turret did have the 152mm derp cannon. Remember however that this was back in the days where said kv could also be matched against king tigers. It was a trade off, in the lower tier games, you made a mess of things by one shotting. But in tier 8 games, the 107 seemed more effective (gold shells for credit was also not a thing back then). There was a small window where the he was still super effective however, but that was changed in short order when they did the first change on he mechanics. At launch, he shells would radiate from their contact by the splash radius. The weakest point of armor found would then be calculated for damage. So if you hit near a driver slit, there was a good chance that it would count as a full pen. This made the 152 kv a terror to even tier 8 tanks due to the large splash radius.
console and Pc have entirely different departments and rarely even communicate other than with generally content, that's why the games between the different platforms are so different
the t 52 picked up the nick name the U.F.O. Because it was so fast it skipped frames and ghosted enemy shells . Wargaming's servers just could not handle it at the time .This was the reason for its removal.
I miss so much T18. And it wasn't too overpowered. Its front armor can be penetrated with tank destroyes or then you can go to shoot its back with light tank. Not too good, but still very fun tank to play. Bring it BACK!
Did you know that the WT. Auf E100 was in the shop for sale as a tier X premium on the Asian server after it got removed. It was not the nerfed version! I can't quite remember but I think it was on sale for 20k gold. (I'm not joking).
The KV-85 still has a 390dm gun. The important change was in aimtime, dpm and, most of all: Gun depression. With the 390dmg gun now you (i could be misremembering) have 3°. The old KV-1S had 8° gun depression with the 390dmg gun.
I faced the WT E100 back when I had the E75 and eventually the E100. It wasn’t an issue for me at least since I could just dump an HE shell in the gun shield. However I can see how lower tiers would struggle.
I heard they removed T50-2 because the new physics engine at the time couldn't handle it. That thing was sick. Every game was catch the t50-2 coming over the hill and then arty bombing you. The game was so different after. WTF E100 was okay, not so impacting as people say. Sometimes it was spotted very early and just got sniped. The thing was huge with no armor. I used to scout against them often and take them out early.
WT auf E100 was my first tier 10 tank, i remember i had a love-hate relationship with it, and i was a TD lover in general... It was HUGE and squishy, on more than one occasion a T92 artillery on the enemy team oneshot me from 2000HP to 0 just by penning that huge gun shield, it was a MAGNET for HE shells, arty, T49, etc, zero cammo, basically the moment anyone lit you up, big pain was incoming....guaranteed. It was the epitome of a glass cannon. On the upside you could kill an entire tank with one clip which was fun to do sometimes but i remember i got sick of it, always staying at the 400m line just to survive. Of course i'd do anything for another round or two in it today and i kind of miss it but overall it was a very limited and frustrating tank. Doing 2000 dmg to some unlucky guy in 10 seconds and trying to hide for the other 50 every minute got boring fast.
+LuckyLeopard I believe the Waffletrager is still on console, it goes to both the Grille and the WT, there’s still the FV 215 while still having the E-25 buyable.
The T-50 8 (Tier 5 Light) is very good - and you can pick up this tank in the regular tech tree. I missed the ELC before the new tier 10 light branch. WG removed the mobility of the best light tank (250hp down to 180hp) and destroy the whole playstyle for this tank. It was the king of handbreak turns - and is now a light with a mobility like a medium tank.
Did you remember when tier V LT's get tier IX matches, peperidge farm remember. We all miss you wunderwaffle the feeling about kill a T-57 Heavy with in 10 seconds was awesome.
I’m glad I play on the console, because I still have the wt auf E-100 with its 6 shot autoloader and it is so much fun. It was my first tier 10 4+ years ago and it is one of my favorite tanks to this day still.
T-50-2 was really fun at Tier X especially when you got to slowly grind down a Maus pew pew pew. Also before other heavier vehicles could push you it was hilarious to hug the side of a J-tiger and slowly kill it. :)
LuckyLeopard I've been campaigning for some kind of return of our Waffles since it was taken from us. I think the best compromise is to return it to those of us who earned it as a special tank, as it was before it was removed only with the 128mm locked out. The 15cm gun is pretty ok, nobody ever really groused about that gun. AP/APCR are nothing special, the HE shells are a hoot but not likely to clip anyone out. This "Waffle Light" version would mean we get our tanks back, and smart enemy tankers could get a target with no camo and a nearly 60sec reload to shoot at for HP farming. I think it's at least worth a try for WG
yeah the KV-2 was hilarious with the 152mm Gun especially before the nerf to the HEAT penetration :) basically running around with an E100 gun at Tier 5 :)
KV-1s and T-18 are yet in WoT Blitz on the original tiers, with the original stats from the computer versiuon as they were before removing (KV1s is still a tier 6 heavy with a 122mm, 400dmg gun; and T-18 is still the tier 2 american td). But maybe because Blitz is yet in version 4.6....
Funny enough, they replaced WT auf E100 with a lot more overpowered at that time Grille 15, there were 4 grilles per team rushing flanks quicker than batchats, and unlike WT auf E100, which was strong, but unstable, with 0% camo, large paper head - HE target, low mobility and arty focus sometimes it suffered so badly, whereas in Grille you could give 4-6k literally every battle in every map. After they nerfed it a little, I still see it as the best TD10 together with STRV 103B
Went for the paper TD line for the WTF 100, and by the time I get there it was replaced by the G15, which is underpowered enough to be moved down to T9...
WT auf E100 was a doomsday tank! I've had the pleasure of having it for half a year, until it was replaced by a horrible Grille 15. By that time, dealing 6000dmg was not a problem :-). Just to be fair, the Grille is not that bad, but the change was dramatic.
Ah, the old WTFE100...very powerful, but I was never as terrified of it as most people were. The day after that patch came out I faced one for the first time on Ensk in my KV-4...6 hits, 0 damage, tracks blown off, and a single penetrating hit returned to it, along with a LOT of "Get him banned, he's a haxxor" comments in chat. And then I saw a video someone did (can't remember who, it may have been QB or Jingles) of a battle where someone fail platooned a Loltraktor into a tier 10 game, and the Loltraktor KILLED one by double bushing and dumping its entire magazine into the turret...I'm not even sure if the waffle realized he was being shot at for the longest time due to the low alpha of that tiny gun.

They removed WT E100, but left the FV 183, with 1800dmg cannon and quite good frontal armor. But on top of that, they put that horribly OP 268 4 in the game, with insane speed and armor. If you had any cells in your bain, you shot HE at WT, because almost every shot would do massive component and crew damage.

There was a time when the SU26 artillery could fire gold rounds that would one shot just about everything. It bled my wallet dry. So much fun with that. But only like 18 shells or something small.

WTE100 has the tier 9 Jgtiger gun with 560 alpha not 490 alpha (chinese nerf version) and the thing that make the KV special is the 152 mm at tier 5 on the top of that the HEAT shell come as premium ammo has way more pen than the current AP round on the KV2 gun

The toaster is definitely better with the shorter 88. The long 88 reduces its gun arc massively, and you don't need 200mm pen on a tier 5.

The WT had 560dmg per shot. And I wouldnt actually call it OP, broken for sure, strong? Yes! But Op? No, since it had a fair amout of weaknesses.

And t50-2 was fun but very very very difficult to manage well.
My experience with the wonderwaffle was that when i played with my friend in a commont test, we were used to 4-6 kills almost every match
Did you know that the WT. Auf E100 was in the shop for sale as a tier X premium on the Asian server after it got removed. It was not the nerfed version! I can't quite remember but I think it was on sale for 20k gold. (I'm not joking).
The KV-85 still has a 390dm gun. The important change was in aimtime, dpm and, most of all: Gun depression. With the 390dmg gun now you (i could be misremembering) have 3°. The old KV-1S had 8° gun depression with the 390dmg gun.
I faced the WT E100 back when I had the E75 and eventually the E100. It wasn’t an issue for me at least since I could just dump an HE shell in the gun shield. However I can see how lower tiers would struggle.
i never had an issue with the waffle. i was normally an arty or a derp tank while it was in game so i loved seeing them
I heard they removed T50-2 because the new physics engine at the time couldn't handle it. That thing was sick. Every game was catch the t50-2 coming over the hill and then arty bombing you. The game was so different after. WTF E100 was okay, not so impacting as people say. Sometimes it was spotted very early and just got sniped. The thing was huge with no armor. I used to scout against them often and take them out early.
WT auf E100 was my first tier 10 tank, i remember i had a love-hate relationship with it, and i was a TD lover in general... It was HUGE and squishy, on more than one occasion a T92 artillery on the enemy team oneshot me from 2000HP to 0 just by penning that huge gun shield, it was a MAGNET for HE shells, arty, T49, etc, zero cammo, basically the moment anyone lit you up, big pain was incoming....guaranteed. It was the epitome of a glass cannon. On the upside you could kill an entire tank with one clip which was fun to do sometimes but i remember i got sick of it, always staying at the 400m line just to survive. Of course i'd do anything for another round or two in it today and i kind of miss it but overall it was a very limited and frustrating tank. Doing 2000 dmg to some unlucky guy in 10 seconds and trying to hide for the other 50 every minute got boring fast.

the WT E 100 came just around when i was grinding with my S 51 and i loved hitting the waffle with 203mm HE
+LuckyLeopard I believe the Waffletrager is still on console, it goes to both the Grille and the WT, there’s still the FV 215 while still having the E-25 buyable.
The KV could indeed mount the 152mm M-10 howitzer. I used A LOT, it was amazing for just bullying anything you could possibly face
The T-50 8 (Tier 5 Light) is very good - and you can pick up this tank in the regular tech tree. I missed the ELC before the new tier 10 light branch. WG removed the mobility of the best light tank (250hp down to 180hp) and destroy the whole playstyle for this tank. It was the king of handbreak turns - and is now a light with a mobility like a medium tank.
I still shed a tear for my beloved t50-2. I always had a blast in that tank.
Did you remember when tier V LT's get tier IX matches, peperidge farm remember.
We all miss you wunderwaffle the feeling about kill a T-57 Heavy with in 10 seconds was awesome.
when old T-50 had that OP engine and was used to scout in 8 tier matches , i sidescraped 8tier Lorr arty ( not a track shot )
I’m glad I play on the console, because I still have the wt auf E-100 with its 6 shot autoloader and it is so much fun. It was my first tier 10 4+ years ago and it is one of my favorite tanks to this day still.
When i played the old wt auf e 100 i would make the enemies shoot my hull in an insane angle.... they taught it was as weak as the turret
T-50-2 was really fun at Tier X especially when you got to slowly grind down a Maus pew pew pew. Also before other heavier vehicles could push you it was hilarious to hug the side of a J-tiger and slowly kill it. :)

LuckyLeopard I've been campaigning for some kind of return of our Waffles since it was taken from us. I think the best compromise is to return it to those of us who earned it as a special tank, as it was before it was removed only with the 128mm locked out. The 15cm gun is pretty ok, nobody ever really groused about that gun. AP/APCR are nothing special, the HE shells are a hoot but not likely to clip anyone out. This "Waffle Light" version would mean we get our tanks back, and smart enemy tankers could get a target with no camo and a nearly 60sec reload to shoot at for HP farming. I think it's at least worth a try for WG
yeah the KV-2 was hilarious with the 152mm Gun especially before the nerf to the HEAT penetration :) basically running around with an E100 gun at Tier 5 :)
The KV-1S in blitz still has the doomcannon but has a long 17 second reload time

Here in world of tank blitz kv1s is at tier 6 and is really fun to play, and t18 is tier 2 derp tank along with t82 being a derp tank too
KV-1s and T-18 are yet in WoT Blitz on the original tiers, with the original stats from the computer versiuon as they were before removing (KV1s is still a tier 6 heavy with a 122mm, 400dmg gun; and T-18 is still the tier 2 american td). But maybe because Blitz is yet in version 4.6....
Funny enough, they replaced WT auf E100 with a lot more overpowered at that time Grille 15, there were 4 grilles per team rushing flanks quicker than batchats, and unlike WT auf E100, which was strong, but unstable, with 0% camo, large paper head - HE target, low mobility and arty focus sometimes it suffered so badly, whereas in Grille you could give 4-6k literally every battle in every map. After they nerfed it a little, I still see it as the best TD10 together with STRV 103B
Went for the paper TD line for the WTF 100, and by the time I get there it was replaced by the G15, which is underpowered enough to be moved down to T9...
WT auf E100 was a doomsday tank! I've had the pleasure of having it for half a year, until it was replaced by a horrible Grille 15. By that time, dealing 6000dmg was not a problem :-). Just to be fair, the Grille is not that bad, but the change was dramatic.

Ah, the old WTFE100...very powerful, but I was never as terrified of it as most people were. The day after that patch came out I faced one for the first time on Ensk in my KV-4...6 hits, 0 damage, tracks blown off, and a single penetrating hit returned to it, along with a LOT of "Get him banned, he's a haxxor" comments in chat. And then I saw a video someone did (can't remember who, it may have been QB or Jingles) of a battle where someone fail platooned a Loltraktor into a tier 10 game, and the Loltraktor KILLED one by double bushing and dumping its entire magazine into the turret...I'm not even sure if the waffle realized he was being shot at for the longest time due to the low alpha of that tiny gun.
I miss the old KV-1S, It was the very first tier 6 HT I had, and I stopped playing WoT for like 2 years and I came back seeing my KV-1S replaced by KV-85, very sad, I didn't get to marry the tank.......
I've only played against the WT but I loved shooting it in the back with some HE...
Pretty sure the old KV did get the 152mm howitzer but the 107mm was just a better option due to rate of fire.
Back then, you could actually mount the 152mm on the KV at tier 5, which is sort of actually ridiculous.

They removed WT E100, but left the FV 183, with 1800dmg cannon and quite good frontal armor. But on top of that, they put that horribly OP 268 4 in the game, with insane speed and armor.
If you had any cells in your bain, you shot HE at WT, because almost every shot would do massive component and crew damage.
YOU CRAZY !! THE KV with the 152 mm gun was the best tank in the game !!!! PLUS I manage to kill two tier 3 with one shot with that damn gun! KV with 152mm gun was the best of all !!! But in another hand.. the MM on that time was brutal !
There was a time when the SU26 artillery could fire gold rounds that would one shot just about everything. It bled my wallet dry. So much fun with that. But only like 18 shells or something small.

Hetzer, kv1 and m4 were beasts before heat ammo nerfed. Also hellcat rocked before mobility nerf. Ahh good oll'days
I just remember that there was a rng nerf for the accuracy of aiming circle, before that patch you could be sniper with 152mm derp gun
Nerfing the old KV-1S and KV. When even Wargamming realised the bias was too strong. Too bad they forgotten about that when they released the object 252U defender.
the WT E100 was removed, and thats a good thing. however it sucks that you grinded towards that vehicle (even spend gold to reach it quicker) and then they replace it with a Meh TD.. i would have never grinded that line if i knew it would get removed
The KV-IS, I remembered putting a 152mm HE into the weak lower plate. KV2 stronk.

Heyyy! No one remembers the good old tier 5 Chaffee? That thing was amazing! The older version not the one we have now.
You could mount the 152mm gun in the teir 5 kv, but most people stuck with the 107mm as its dpm and reliability were better.
WTE100 has the tier 9 Jgtiger gun with 560 alpha not 490 alpha (chinese nerf version) and the thing that make the KV special is the 152 mm at tier 5 on the top of that the HEAT shell come as premium ammo has way more pen than the current AP round on the KV2 gun
