It's so wild.. I grew up raising my nephews. From 12 on, I raised them because their mom wasnt around. When I got pregnant, I imagined it would be a boy and couldn't imagine a girl just cause all my experience was with boys. I had my girl and she's an only child. She's 14 now and I can't imagine having a boy. It's her and I and I just do not connect with the boy mom stuff. Of course, I'd feel differently if I had a boy because when I did have my nephews, I was all about that.
But there are differences.. Boys are wild and crazy and hyper.. Girls ARE more emotional.. Despite people saying gender roles are bs, I've experienced both and there's a difference.

Mom of a boy here 😂 and just because of the type of woman I am, I’m terrified of the idea of having a girl. Definitely don’t identify as a toxic boy mom, I’m just good at being a boy mom. I love my mom but it is opposite of what Khalyla said. I left my family and integrated into my husbands family. I just think it depends on the dynamic of each family. there isn’t really much closeness in my family whereas my husband is very close with his family and in turn as am I.
Boy Mom here. Mine is 20! Khalyla has a point with the boys getting absorbed into the girl family and this is specifically true later on. Like when they start having kids. So for example with my son let's say he gets married. When she gets pregnant and has a baby, everything is determined on how well her and I get along. And you all know the classic trope about mother-in-law's and new wives and how well they get along. So some new moms can be really manipulative and treat grandmothers poorly, and there's like even grandmothers rights groups out there. So from that aspect, I feel like I'm gonna have to work really hard to be close to my grandkids. Because on the other hand if it were my daughter, I'm gonna be in the birthing room, I'm going to be throwing all the baby showers you know I'm gonna be involved every step of the way and babysitting on like week one etc. In the previous example, my son's new wife will probably likely be doing the same stuff with her mom. So boy grandma moms get left out.
